Good thing Mayorga didn't fight peak Trinidad like David Reid and Fernando Vargas did. Trinidad had a higher ko ratio 77.7% compared to Cotto's 70.2% Trinidad was almost what it's called an 'extremely hard puncher' which is the boxing term for fighters with a 80% + ko ratio. Mayorga just got caught with Cotto's best in one ocasion.
It's good to point out Mayorga lowered his guard on purpose on the first round of the Trinidad fight, but he was waiting for a timed punch he could see. The punches that really do damage are the ones you don't see coming. Even then Trinidad almost knocked him out by the end of that first round. Mayorga might say he felt harder punches from Cotto, but Tito is clearly the hardest puncher. He is lucky the ref didn't stop that fight on the 5th round which was a masacre.
Cotto hit him clean with some really sharp jabs not power punch, jabs and wen you get with that many jabs they start feeling like a someone slapping you in the face with a bag of rocks.

Guess this isn't common knowledge but Cotto actually has a titanium rod in one of his arms from a car accident. Wonder if that could help explain his power. Is probably very densely boned also. Watching him punch it just looks like there's a lot of follow through/inertia with his movements. My two cents.
