1) I made this video with the intention to make a part 2, so I didn't put all of her best/ most complicated riffs in it, ex surgeon/marrow/ whatever
2) SOME OF THESE RIFFS ARE IMPROV!! i've leave timestamps of the improvised riffs if I can remember later, but.. I was taking that into consideration making this video, like 'this isn't the greatest thing ever, but it's incredibly good for improv" y'know??
3) damn ma is it that serious

Dear Miss S.Vincent I would like to thank you for changing the way the guitar is played and sounds in a musical setting. you are the most refreashing thing ive heard since frank zappa. I hope to hear more sonic sounds from your instrument. I just recently found your music, if it wasnt for the internet im not sure if i would have been blessed with this music

Funny thing is these same people who say shes not technical enough are the ones who call guitarists liike tosin abasi "guitar wankery" but praise guitar heroes from the 70s for shredding liike a madman. Pick abd argument and stick with it, either its complicated and awesome or is unique and serves the song
It's only technical enough if it's the same scales and copycat tricks that every shitty bedroom guitar player plays because they don't have even a bruise of creativity. And even then it helps to be a man because men are relatable and women are pretty and mean.

Can you please upload part 2??
You can tell she's loving it and I do too!
She's a very unique and an inventive composer. As far as her being a guitar god,no. She's not a virtuoso. But she is a brilliant producer, composer, arranger and performer. Like The Edge. His technical ability is fairly unimpressive. But his use of pedals, tones and effects are super unorthodox. The way he fills space. Another example of this would be Adam Jones from TOOL. Very inventive and unique player, but his technicality isn't up to par with what would be considered virtuosity. His playing is somewhat repetitive. But very aggressive and emotive.
This passes for being a guitar god today???
To be honest I don't who she is, but there's certainly swagger and style to her playing and that get's 10/10 from me but sure she's isn't playing anything technical per se.

@@zentazym1 nah to me it’s just messing with expectations. i’m a fan of all her work and i know most of her songs pretty well. when comparing the studio versions to the live ones it seems like there are specific times where she wants to stay true to the song, times where she wants to through in some unexpected yet still nice improv, and other times it’s just about having fun and making sound loud noise. i mean come on tell me the one where she walks into the crowd didn’t sound insane
@@big_ol_ball838 I like her as a studio artist. Which makes it even worse because she’s clearly talented and knows how to play, but chooses to do this instead. I think she’s got too much pressure on her to be a guitar virtuoso when she’s more or less just proficient and is trying to do some (kinda amateurish ngl) avant garde stuff and throwing a fuzz pedal on top of it. None of that is to say she’s bad or anything obviously and she’s again great on record but they’re probably filtering the best of her experimentation on record and when she improvises live it just sounds a bit rubbish to me and even on a technical level she’s not doing much impressive in any of these clips
@@zentazym1 the full live set that most of these clips are from is pretty good. also on her newer sets she’s playing some kinda 70s stuff and it’s all a little bit more tasteful. as for the pressure thing i think kinda just does whatever she wants. she’s always been changing things and approach to live sets and improv. i’d give this set a look

The fact you have to justify why you think she's a great guitarist is sufficient to understand she's not. She must work in her guitar instead of her haircuts and outfits
If this is the best you can come up with, she's more good than god, bordering on goof.
for real. Didnt know if the title was a joke. If they think she is a guitar god...

Well after reading the comments I'm afraid of saying anything and being a guy... But, I digress... I dig her guitar playing, it's unconventional, catchy and it's her own thing. It sometimes reminds me of Muse in the tone and overdrive sound (which I love). Two big thumbs up from me 👍👍
