@@williammaguire3225 Annie Clark is her name. I love when she plays her more melodic stuff. She's so skilled but I am not super into her more experimental stuffs.
not super crazy about her music *loved her first album* but jeez she is so damn talented. such good taste. such a cool person. we are lucky to have her around.
An absolute wonder of an artist. These songs are very difficult to ;play, and she's just knocking them out like they're 'smoke on the water'. Once in a lifetime talent
It's hard to know if somebody is a great player until you hear them on acoustic. Annie convinced me on that short Steely Dan piece. I wish I could have heard more.
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT. SHE PLAYED/SANG A TOOL SONG!!! All I've been thinking about since I "discovered" her is how much I'd love to see her collaborate with Maynard! Seems like she might be on board...
Maynard is well past his prime. It would be a very underwhelming feat if it did happen. I like Puscifer but the latest tool stuff and apc stuff is just a big bore fest. He's lost his intensity
@@user-yg4dr8po4p Man, I hate thinking that about Maynard! But yeah, I forgot how long ago most of that music was actually made, just like I forget how old I am myself now!!! 🥺. The last "new" Maynard I discovered was Puscifer (The Humbling River!!! O M G!!!) and that was 6 years ago damn! N/S when it was actually written. I kinda lost a lot of time for awhile there being homeless and addicted and living totally off the grid....
St. Vincent is of course, awesome and I'm so happy Annie Clark is getting more recognition these days, but also very cool of her to play a Tool song. A lot of people are taking a shit on Tool these days, calling them elitist or making fun of fans, making fun of the album release etc. And that's all ok, jokes are jokes. But let's not forget the unparalleled music they made for 20 years. St. Vincent has been on the scene for some time, but I do believe the best is yet to come, hats off to Annie Clark and the amazing music/lyrics she produces. Big fan!
She played Nirvana, Zep, Hendrix, Tool, Pantera AND said Billie Holliday was a huge influence? If wasn’t already in love with Annie this would have made it happen.
She is giving me very much Diamanda Galás vibes but far more chill with this look. Like, she might have a gun, but she isn’t telling me that she will blast people away... yet... but still. It could happen.
@@larochelleben Doesn't matter when se was born. It's about the vibes. She's obviously influenced by the alternative rock of that days (no just by that) and even that setting has got resemblances with 90's MTV.
@@FloydtheBarber8384 Viewed that way, yes, I agree with you, totally. And she seems much cooler in this kind of setting than on stage, with the femdom attitude and stuff...
I would pay good money to hear her play a full cover of Forty Six & 2
raise your bet
You mean 'My shadow'
Me 2
I would pay more to remove her vocals from it.
K
Awwwwwww Tool by St. Vincent. It can't get much better than that

'My shadow' by st ttyl
Love the eyebrow movement in that Cannonball riff.
So cool when she's trying to remember Black Dog and you can see muscle memory kicks in
She makes playing guitar look easy
Listening to her taste in music answers the question of why I freaking love her so much
Always stunningly innovative, intellectually entertaining and most of all...musically conscious. Love this woman.
"intellectually entertaining"
lmao
You forgot PRETENTIOUS !
@@larryscheller2476 yes, as she sits there and plays Cowboys From Hell. So pretentious
My secret to clear skin? Thinking about that Tool cover once a day
Annie as Robert Plante is adorable.
she played tool and sang so effortlessly.. omg
I was watching Puscifer recently and thought she would work really well with Maynard
She's an amazing artist !
I love st vincent without a doubt one of the best rock artists of these times
This is one of my fav clips of St Vincent, so sincere and so talented
An amazing artist.
not super crazy about her music *loved her first album* but jeez she is so damn talented. such good taste. such a cool person. we are lucky to have her around.
I agree I like the first 3 but seems like everything else was heavily over produced
This woman is awesome. This is my first time ever seeing anything from her, she's got good taste in music I'm going to go dive deeper into her music
Yeah same. She just does what she wants and it's great
I love this comment🥲
Wow! Other than the Pantera riff they're all favourites of mine. Thanks for sharing Annie.

i need a full length ver. of that tool cover ASAP!!!! oh my god she kills it
Kelvis Forever :) Love this video. Gonna watch it again and again.
This is the video that introduced me to St. Vincent.
AMAZING girl
shes so good
what a talent.
Just back to hear her Forty Six & 2 again
Down to earth rock gods are the best. Love St. Vincent. Thanks for sharing :)
I wish this video never ended.

She's so cool.

04:34 St. Vincent - 46&2 , now I can die
Pure rock musician
Cannon Ball understated banger 🔥
"Just kidding that's steely dan" lmao
goddess, genius and just for the heck of it, she throws out a little tool 46 & 2, just to educate us a bit. i love her.
It's pronounced 'my shadow'
LOL 2:22 the eyebrows give her the power for those bends.
Ah fuk, now I'm gonna do that everytime I bend a note.
Crazy !
Tiene mucho flow
hermoso
well she plays Pantera... all i needed
She is epic.
She was great at Nirvana’s induction into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame. I watch that video at least 20 times. She looks good as a blonde.😜
Beautiful flexie style

i need to hear her cover some steely dan ASAP

Totally agree with the comments. Annie should do the full cover of forty six & 2. It will be awesome!
I wonder why this was re-uploaded?
1:25 how is it called? Glam tuning?
WE NEED A FULL ACOUSTIC COVER OF 46 & 2

She likes "Tool". Bingo! Annie Clark is incredible talent!!!
I WOULD DIE TO LISTEN TO THAT TOOL COVER
She's just great, ain't she?

Annie is dressed up like Doug Funny's sister.

Her playin Nirvana... and then just hire DV at the drums for her new album... love it !
Billie Holliday is criminally underrated i the history of everything in music.
She's a babe 😍
Tool awesome
i tried to sing while playing forty six and 2 bc she made it look so easy but it’s incredible difficult
Was expecting Dig a Pony on here since she covers that
So her first riff she remembers is Boston's more than a feeling
let her entertain us
Just realized the Cannonball riff is similar to the Not to Touch the Earth riff.
@StVincent YoU R DoPE love the Tool
*my shadow
Hunter but it’s from TOOL and it is 46 and 2 do your research if you are going to correct people
I like how Im struggling to play/sing 46/2 and shes just breezing through it now..
Bitch just started playing 46 and 2... AMAZING!
Nothing by Tuck and Patti?
I'd love to hear her do a Pat the bunny song
What is the song she starts playing at 4:16 ?
Found it. It's "Bring Me Your Loves"
Anyone know what brand of guitar she’s playing? It looks like a parlor guitar to me
Ernie ball music man i guess
It's a Waterloo parlor guitar by Collings. (I know because I have one.)
Mine were iron man and smoke on the water.
I thought tuning all the strings to the same note was ostrich tuning?? maybe it is 2 different names for the same thing. Lou reed used it a lot
I think folks have different names for the same idea, different names in different contexts
Steely Dan at 0:42
Just a fragment of it .
Love to hear her play the whole solo.
@@larryscheller2476 what song is that from?
what song?

Iron man and black dog my first songs
What guitar do you use?

0:50 steely dan
song name?
When a good musician never mention guns and roses riffs is because is a real, real , and no shit good musician . Bravo girl
haha, happy to see that annie is also incapable of playing the cannonball riff without moving along the eyebrows
I'd love to hear her sing with Dax Riggs...
