Manga Red is the only Red I can genuinely see as being strong. Origins Red is a jabroney, and Game Red’s been taking nothing but fat L’s since GS. Man’s lost to 4 generations of protagonists, two of whom are those goobers from the LG Pikachu/Eevee games.

Ash caught less but he actually caught Pokémon from other regions. Red’s Quantity to Ash’s Quality. Ash is champ, as well. World champ. Don’t know what rock you’ve been living under. Honestly, in Origins Red's only good Pokemon was Charizard, everything else just gets cooked until Charizard shows up to win lol.
Yeah cuz reds a rookie trainer, all of his pokemon is underlevelled its like a level 90 charizard with a level 60 party
Most of the battles are off screen so they gave most of the time to Charizard, but its clear that he also uses Jolteon and lapras quite a bit.
Also keep in mind that in the SHORT time he became champion he trained dozens of diferent pokemons in that time, not just 6 or 7

@@nift36 sure, but that rhydon was far stronger that whatever Red was supposed to face, Red had the caution to train a team to every gym leader and he felt confident enough to bring his jolteon to a ground tipe gym so he should in theory be strong enough to fight decently.

Origins Red relied heavily on Charizard. I always prefered Red with Venusaur since it gives him more of an underdog feel. It’s why I prefer the manga version of Red more.

Therefore when he finally managed to win against his rivals and finally won the league and world championship, it was earned. Red bumbled his way through Origins, winning his battles through sheer plot armor guiding him. Almost every battle (how few there were, cuz they glossed over like 80-90% of the game) only showed him being incompetent, proving only he didn’t deserve to win any of his battles.

@@barbaracult The pokemon Giovanni used was breed for someone that has seven badges up to that point, he doesn’t even use the full team he uses in game and Red nearly got sweeped which probably wouldn’t have happened if he didn’t favor only Charizard 💀.
Plus Blue beat’s Giovanni before Red and he clearly had a more well trained team when we fight him prior to victory road ingame.

In origins red is heavily underlevelled. Reminder these are giovannis specially trained pokemon that he has levelled up his whole life while reds pokemon were only trained up to fight this gym leader. If gio used his normal team, red wouldve demolished
He used other completely diferent team.
Dodrio, jolteon, lapras, charizard, persian and scyther.
Also there was some time and victory road before the elite 4.
He lost against rhyhorn because his mons were underleveled, which makes sense since he trains dozens of pokemons intead of only 7/8

@@Shinrius red merely bumbled his way around and pulled wins out of his ass in origins. Man never had a single battle in this series that felt deserved because the anime not only made him a full on fool, but the plot armor was fully evident.

And people say ash was bad. My man red lost 2 Pokémon with quad super effective damage to an unevolved Rhyhorn, sent in 2 Pokémon with disadvantage, only to finally send in his fighting type, only to have Hitmonlee trade with Rhyhorn. To think people still glaze this man is strange.
This adaptation of Red is gotta be the weakest of the Reds bro, the only Pokemon I can consider he trained is that fuckass Charizard of his and everyone else is gotta be begging for a smidget of exp, also, his Jolteon got ohko'd to that Rhyhorn via the use of Tbolt, this thing has a pitiful Special Attack so idk how this thing had ohko'd Jolteon aside from Giovanni being a crime lord and drugging his mons or Red being that neglectful to all nonZard mons.

To be honest, Manga Red is the only one is can say is really strong. Even game Red has been a jobber. Man’s been a walking L since GS. Losing to 4 whole generations of protagonists, one being those two goobers who you play as in Let’s Go.
Manga Red is a good trainer, but people really be glazing this man too much. All he did is become Kanto champ and screw off to the top of a mountain. Man didn’t even finish team rocket off. Gold/Ethan not only took down team rocket for good, but he also went back in time with Celebi to also take down Giovanni AT THE SAME TIME his past self was talking TR down at the Goldenrod radio tower.

It was clear that Steven Stone’s metagross would’ve been one-shotted by said attack from Primal Kyogre. If Primal Groudon is of the same strength, then I think that manga lance ALONE could destroy both. Manga Legendaries scale much higher than anime legendaries, considering an arguably level 44ish newly evolved Noivern with near NO battle experience scaled to anime Zapdos. You can’t even scale Ash’s strongest Pokemon, Pikachu to the Primal Kyogre feat stated earlier. So lets just say you’re correct about the lightspeed feats; it doesn’t even matter. Because a single hit from Red’s Pikachu, dare I bring out his Mega Venusaur, could one shot just about all of Ash’s Pokemon.

Red was mere Kanto champ and instantly gave up the title. Ash not only became Alola’s champ, he became world champ as well. If anything, Ash was what Red wanted to be.

I was going to say Red's the better trainer but then I actually thought about it.
Apart from Blue, Red only defeated opponents by outnumbering them, which is a cheap tactic. Against Brock, Nidoran was the only Pokemon who could actually put up a fight on his own merits. He very nearly beat Onix by himself, only for Onix to then sweep through 3 other Pokemon without even trying.
Giovanni's Rhyhorn took out 5 Pokemon all by itself. Then Rhydon only lost to Charizard because of plot armour. If Red actually fought Giovanni fairly instead of by simply outnumbering him, he wouldn't have stood a chance.
It's the same with Mewtwo. 5 Pokemon weakened it and even after that, Charizard had to resort to Mega Evolution to stand any chance at all.
Also, the Elite 4 have 5 Pokemon each, so even there, Red only won by outnumbering them with 6 Pokemon.
Literally the only time Red won a battle fair and square was against Blue.

@@alphatech1743 honestly, if we’re power scaling this, Ash Negs diffs origins Red. Low/Mid diffs Game Red, and High diffs with manga Red. Manga red is the only one I can see feasibly beating Ash, because as of today, Ash is so far the only trainer in any canon of Pokemon to wield Mega Evolution, Z moves and G-Max all at once.
