People will tell you to not care, but you will care. You have to care. It's your art, and no matter how much we delude ourselves into thinking we make art for ourselves...we don't. Art is communication. Art is a connection between two people, creator and viewer. You care what people think because you are human. The trick isn't shutting off your emotion, it's facing it and learning how to process that pain. Art is a painful process. You take a piece of your soul, toss it on the page, and serve it up to the masses to be consumed. You'll never get that piece of your soul back. Every piece of art will cost you something. What's important is that you're getting something in return. Your art needs to improve your life somehow for it to be worth it. It has to help your emotional state, your relationships, the world at large, or anything else you care about. If you only make art as a business venture, give up now. You will never make it. But if you make art because it makes your life better, despite what it costs, then you can get through the pain of rejection. It's just life. Let it happen to you. Live.

Whenever I see Zack Snyder, and of course any of his films, I just think to myself, this man should really be a cinematographer and not a director. The guy is clearly fascinated by the visual aspects of movies and he genuinely has a lot of talent for creating images. But he also does not know how to tell a story.

Slow-mo, huh? I can't tell you how glad I was when the trend that started in the mid 90s, of showing fast, VERY close-in shots of action sequences, finally came to an end in the late 90s/ early noughties. Action sequences shot during that horrible time were utterly unwatchable!! For those of us who lived through this frustrating and- quite frankly- *stupid* era in movie-making, modern slow-mo action sequences are a Godsend!! You can actually see AND understand what's happening!!! No, for those of us who were born in the 70s, or earlier, I don't think any of us could ever complain about slow-mo being used during action sequences. Not after what we went through during the Stupid-Era...

Because he’s a poser that acts like he’s the best filmmaker in the world but his movies are mediocre at best and he shifts blame when his movies get destroyed by critics and makes up excuses by offering different versions but the they’re still just longer bad movies. Literally no other director does this.
