      @MARKIEBANUNCE The Allman Brothers Band was an American rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1969[3] by brothers Duane Allman (founder, slide guitar and lead guitar) and Gregg Allman (vocals, keyboards, songwriting), as well as Dickey Betts (lead guitar, vocals, songwriting), Berry Oakley (bass), Butch Trucks (drums), and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson (drums). Subsequently, based in Macon, Georgia, they incorporated elements of blues, jazz and country music and their live shows featured jam band-style improvisation and instrumentals. So many bands started in Jacksonville too.

He said that Dickey thought that he had to "run" the band, and that if he had thought he could start over, the first thing he would do was fire Dickey Betts.

    I dont think they had the mix right in the monitors - sounds like they were struggling a bit to get the right volume of their voices during the verses. However, I WILL say the way they (Allman Bros) edited this song for the short amount of time for the performance (it's a longer song than 4:52 ) is not an easy task to do, on the "fly" . - you can kinda see at the end of Dickie's solo it threw Woody off an Jaimo and Butch a beat or two - but I'm sure most people didnt notice.

    I love the Allman Brothers (I'm a first-generation fan), but Betts is reaping what he sowed, and he admits that his long-term behavior is what drove him out of the band.

    • @lastdaysguitar

      I've noticed its ALWAYS the CZcams channels with no content themselves that are most critical of others. Be careful you don't reap what you sow.

    • @nickpavona3326
      @nickpavona3326 Před 3 lety +2

      I'd say Greg was fortunate that it was his band. W hen you think of long term behavior issues he is the king. Betts was an all time great and we all reap what he sowed. .

    • @dzjc01
      @dzjc01 Před 2 lety

      I get it. Betts was a phenomenal guitar player and songwriter. There's no debating that. It was *his* admission that his behavior drove him out of the band. Greg and Duane hand their own issues with drugs and alcohol, so there's that, but it was their band at the end of the day.
