I was saved in 1969 in So Cal--and used to attend Calvary Chapel and listen to Lonnie Frisbee at a Riverside Episcopal church--an amazing, life-changing time and experience---thousands saved--true revival and move of the Lord--I'm still enjoying Him-my wonderful Lord and Savior!

The Jesus Revolution is a must see. Very powerful. No one left their seats during the whole movie. Even during the credits.
The movie goers were groups of old people and right before the start of the movie came groups of young people. It was amazing!
On my second viewing I broke the record. 3 visits to the men's room. Those soda cups are too big!
We just saw the movie ! Our family loved it!! This film speaks to every generation! It is so inspirational 🙌 it left us with a deeper sense of hunger & love for Jesus! +Our 2 boys walked out saying they want to be baptized !!

Wonderful! I couldn’t stop weeping from the very opening scene and at various moments throughout-vary accurate account of what took place-
I attended Calvary 7-8 times a week in my teens. Pastor Chuck held services a few times on Sunday and Greg Laurie was there on Monday nights. Packed out. Kids sitting in the aisles and overflowing into the Fellowship Hall. Transformed my life. Met my wife there. Hard to explain how powerful it was More than church it was a might move of God that grew all around ver the world.
Amen-I visited several times w fellow students from Biola University- Love Song, Children of the Day, Debby Kerner and others were also a big part of the enjoyment there-we also sang songs on the way -
This movie was simply incredible. Extremely emotional and meaningful. The actors were amazing. My wife and I loved it, if you haven’t seen it’s absolutely worth it !
It is wonderful … can’t wait to see it again …revive us again Lord!
The White House party was in 1976, Bi Centennial celebration. President Ford was the host.
We knew about the Revolution in Cali. But till this movie, I didn’t know it had spread and impacted all across America. An evangelist held a revival in our high school auditorium in MO in April 1969. And my husband said he to this day does not know how he got out of his seat and was at the makeshift altar. I joined him altho I was saved. We married and we have been in ministry most of our lives.
I am believing that many people who came to Christ during the 70's who through the trials of life have lost their first love for Jesus by seeing Jesus Revolution will come back to their first love of Jesus and will end their life with renewed zeal to spread the gospel message to all they meet!
The seeds and the ground parable. Only the seed on good fertile ground bears fruit. The rest blows away.
Many Pastors allowed a bit of the New Age Movement into the church. I feel man and the enemy stepped in and quenched the simple move of the Holy Spirit. Like Mario Murillo says the church got into entertaining, “Big screens, smoke machines and skinny jeans”

Great interview! Thank you! I was a “Jesus Freak” of the 70’s! Our revolution was on the East Coast. We had houses from Philadelphia to Boston! It was awesome, in the beginning. I lived in the commune for 5 years. We were the Jesus freaks handing out tickets for God all over New York City! We also started a carpet cleaning company and even Wall Street was curious about us and helping people get saved.
Seinfeld did an episode on us! They called us Sunshine Carpet Cleaning Company. The episode was called “The Checks”.
The life of Lonnie sooo saddens me.
The Bible does have a theme of events that are a foreshadowing of future events. I believe Lonnie might have been a type of John the Baptist. Someone that came out of the “wilderness” in SanFran.
I don’t think anyone can deny an enormous surge of the Holy Spirit right now. Things are happening everywhere! And these movies are a part of that! Praise, praise God!!!!
Amazing-one church historian said that the Jesus Revolution was one of the 10 greatest revivals in church history-I believe it as it spread throughout the nation and around the world
I met the Living God in 1981 at Calvary Chapel Yorba Linda. Later the Church changed its name to Vineyard Anaheim. Lonnie Frisbee attended there.
My life totally changed after that!
I was living in Ms. during the 1970's in my early 20's. Churches were springing up in strip malls birthing out of this 'hippy' revival time.Thank the Lord, He reached down and saved this searching preachers kid just a few years later. The fire has only grown stronger throughout these 40 plus years.

I was twelve when The Jesus Movement was beginning in California and it took awhile to get to Pennsylvania; my mom and dad kept me on a short leash, so to speak and I thank God that they did. I wanted to be a hippie but they absolutely said NO. I remember hearing the Jesus Music at my church through some Christian college students that were volunteering at the small Baptist Church that was a "church plant" in Pennsylvania. I look forward to seeing this film and be reminded of those early days.
I am from PA close to Phila. If it did come I was not aware. Attended Catholic Church then but by ‘73 @ 23 I was into to drugs, sex & partying. I and my people called them Jesus freaks. So thankful by the grace of God He opened my eyes. I received H my ways as my Savior in January 1984. The road has not been easy but I have been blessed. There is a redeemer, Jesus is His name!
I had a dramatic experience in my friend’s kitchen on October 5th, 1972, in Lake Tahoe. We had the Bible open and trying to meet this Jesus we had been hearing about. The Holy Spirit enveloped us and we were born again, both of us. It was 50 years ago and my friend and I are still in love with Jesus. My life was changed forever. It was a miracle! I can’t wait to see the movie. Also, my husband of 47 years also decided to follow Jesus in the early 70’s. It was a REAL move of God!❤️
Similar experience here to in 71. It was very dramatic.

Amazing-I was saved in ‘69 in San Bernardino in a home meeting (the Waggoners). After my second meeting the Holy Spirit shed abroad His love in my heart - I had to pull my car over - got out and shouted “Hallelujah!” and ran around the car! He has never left me or forsaken me all these years-only grown sweeter, nearer and dearer in spite of all my failures and shortcomings-what a Savior!
In 1983 I accepted Jesus at Harvest Christian Fellowship and then my 2 sons did also in 2002

Best part of the film was the baptism of Greg. Such an excellent example of conversion. The character in the film Greg, one minute you think your ready then you believe, say a simple truth faith filled prayer. Greg comes out of the water Born Again!

I have been sick with COVID and I had a belly laugh over you two and Muskrat Love. When I recover seeing Jesus Revolution is definitely on my list. Meanwhile, praying for its impact.

I went with friends on Friday to the movie. It was absolutely incredible! It was a time where we were all searching for the truth. Loved every minute! Can’t wait to see it again!

This film was AMAZING! There are so many people I want to see this film. Many of them are seeing it Saturday.
Chuck Smith is my spiritual grandfather. My mom came to the Lord at one of his services. God's reach through Chuck Smith being available to God's will is enormous.

I was most surprised how gifted Lonnie was....how mightily God worked through him.
Indeed-I saw him in person in Riverside - extremely charismatic

So wonderful, love Pastor Gregg, he is so real and down to earth without compromising his faith and Jesus's doctrine!
We went to the early release Wednesday night and bought 6 tickets. Phenomenal. The moment when a whole generation of Eutychuses fell asleep in church, and the Spirit of the Lord resuscitates them from death. Only an authentic touch from God can do what rules, morals and standards fail to-the regeneration of the human soul. Bravo. May God do it again!
God went outside the church, outside the buildings and into the streets and the byways.
Churches were full of dead people, dead preachers who spoke out against the Jesus People Movement.
I was there and lived it.
I later attended Calvary Chapel Servants School of Ministry where I met Chuck Smith and others.
For those who embraced the Revolution, were part of it, It changed us and it changed America.
God is doing it again.

My girlfriend and I went to see the movie yesterday. It was asking and loved it. I also talked to another friend of mine in SC that lived it also. Jonathan Roumie was a good Lonnie Frisbee.

I loved the movie. The movement reached Virginia a little later but the movie brought back such good memories of the music, revivals, you groups etc. I still have my old Bible with One Way ☝️stickers on it!

My church closed the door on this movement refusing to allow any of the young people to listen to what was happening! Sad and caused a lot of young people to leave and not believe at all.Because of Greg I went back to the church

This movie sounds like a really important tool that can be used to make a new Jesus movement. I lived it in the early 70s. Now I'm in my early 70s. It would be nice to see it again.

@@sharonscott4108 You got a point. I think back then it it was 60s hippies finding God. Alot of young people were hippies back then. They new there was an answer but just learned his name.
Whatever works to get people back to Jesus. God has always done the unexpected.
I also got saved in California in 1969 (also in the hippy subculture), so I'm looking forward to this movie which, I'm sure, will be like a time-travel experience. :)

I forgot about the stickers. I lived through it I’m 72 but then I called them Jesus freaks😮 God did have mercy on me. My husband showed me the Bible and shared the way of salvation after being married 5 years( another story) and while reading John I confessed my sin and thanked the Lord Jesus for saving me. 1984

I was part of the Jesus Movement in 1975 in my state. It was Glorious!!! Wish I could go back in time miracles were happening all the time.

yes, praying for souls to be radically transformed by Christ’s love. Praying for those who love Him to love Him more. Praying for those sleeping during these final days to join in the fight. Praise God, the war has been won by our Beloved Jesus.

I just saw "The Jesus Revolution" yesterday. Fantastic movie! I agree with your assessment of Kelsey Grammer and his ability to act so well with just his facial expressions. I was curious about how the hippies in the early Calvary Chapel supported themselves. The movie seemed to imply they were jobless, but it seems they had to have a way of purchasing food and other necessities.
The last thing we thought about was money - I remember one time I had just 400 dollars in my account-So I gave it away! The Lord supplied whatever I needed.
And has continued to these last 54 years.
@@darylasmith You say the Lord supplied whatever you needed. But I am curious as to how he supplied. Was it from others’ donations, odd jobs, rich donors who believed in your cause, or miracles from God? Some combination?

But i do appreciate Greg Laurie sharing about his life & this Jesus Revolution movie & how it is based on the true story about Chuck Smith & that hippie salvation Jesus movement happening. I really didn't know those things happened with Chuck Smith & Greg Laurie. I have heard Jack Hibbs & Chuck Missler talk about Chuck Smith's tremendous mentoring of them & they both became christian leaders. I didn't know Greg Laurie was involved in that too. It is wonderful christian history i am happy to learn.

Anyone who listened or listens to Chuck Smith is totally blessed. He was one of my pastors in the early 80's and then Greg Laurie after that. Both pastors are exceptional. I can not wait to see this movie.
I'm in my 70s - saw it in real life, and can't wait to see it again. I remember Kelsey Grammer from the movie Down Periscope and he was a genus in that one. Man is a beautiful actor and of course Jonathan Roume is amazing.

I hope and pray this movie minister's to those in the LGBTQ+ community who are called by the Father to His beloved Son Jesus Christ. I also hope and pray this movie can heal the rift and split of Calvary Chapel Association and Calvary Chapel Global Network. Special prayers for Brian Brodersen as well as the LDS church to recognize the "Authentic Jesus".

Last year I went to a Christian church and was stared at and the parishioners didn't greet me at all. I am a conservative woman with short hair, wore light makeup, and wore pants. All the women had long dresses and hair in buns. The pastor never told me there was a dress code although I talked to him for 10 minutes ahead of time!! I kinda know how these hippies felt!

“Muskrat Love” was performed at the Ford White House dinner celebrating Queen Elizabeth. Apparently, their other song “The Way I Want to Touch You” was too racy so they chose “Muskrat Love.”
It is true that we are flawed. The Bible never hides that. What sometimes messes us up is being disillusioned by other broken people and broken dreams. We forget to really read the Bible. God has His own plan. We can trust it or walk out. Disillusion is part of the walk and the victory we have walking with Him through it. Others went down that road before us , and Jesus did. He said in this world we will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, He overcame the world. If anyone should have been broken and disillusioned, it was Jesus!
