He's an artist not a chemist. You'd be surprised how many artists don't actually understand the chemistry behind how their art supplies work. Like he was surprised about the horrid sulphury smell when using the wine, but wine has sulphites in it which will have reacted with the pigments to release sulphur in a gaseous form (exactly what I can't tell for sure without knowing the specific pigments he used for that one).

@@AlexaFaie I forgot that wine had so much sulfite in it lol. But yeah, thinking that a probably oil and/or clay based paint solution would stir into alcohol is a big brain move right there on his part. My thought is, what if you could make an alcoholic's painting kit with like 5 different types of alcohol and have it be edible and made from natural things, and use it sort of like watercolors? That'd bring the whole wine paintings with the gals to a whole 'nother level! Old Becky won't know what to do with herself when she's drinking the paint this time around!
It's pigment infused with alcohol, not paint. It needs a liquid to work. He just added too much liquid.

@Strix Art, I checked your 3 marker challenge video out and I have a bit of advice for you. Keep in mind that none of this is to be meant as an insult. If it seems that way, please forgive me, I'm known to be brutally honest. For starters, it's a bit too short. Personally, I want something that I can watch for a good amount of time, as an extra-time burner, ya know? Also, I suggest taking "(SaTisFyInG)" out of your titles, for people like me, it has the effect that makes me avoid clicking it. It's, and I'm sorry if this offends you, kind of cringy. Just putting "(Satisfying)" has a much better effect on making people click, but that's just my opinion. Also, the quality is a bit low. The audio could be clearer. I suggest a better microphone. Other than that... pretty good. I wouldn't watch your videos, personally, because I don't normally like that sort of video, (Yes, I know whos channel I'm on, and I don't care) but I can see how other people would want to watch your videos. Keep up the good work, friend.

As someone who has a degree in paint-decoration-restauration I knew this was gonna work with the powder pigment. The alcohol will work as a 'natural glue'. In my last year at school I had to do imitations of wood, and we had to make a 'glacis' (transparant color) as a layer over the lines of the (drawn on) wood,acting like a background. Funny to see this now after all these years at school :D I hope you see my post Jazza, I love your videos and you actually have given me lots of inspiration while watching them :D lots of love from Belgium :)
