Arjen wrote the music for this song, as you can hear. Simone and Arjen worked very closely on the project. To learn more, Simone posted an interview with both of them on her channel. Most of the instruments were done by Arjen as well.
They said that for this song, they wanted to marry the Epica/Ayreon sound, but other parts of the album will not necessarily sound the same.

YES! Certainly some of the Dutch hippie dude influences on this. How Amazing, the joining of the Ayreon/Epica sounds. Love Arjen's music and Love Simone's vocals no matter what she's singing. A Beautiful Lady with a Beautiful Voice! Can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

The whole album has a lot of very different songs, also ballads and some Rammstein influences.
And yes Epica themselves are working on their ninth album.
