I used to disregard clear glass until I found a Lalique crystal bowl for $3.00 . It sold for over 300. ! Woo hoo . Now I look at all glass. 🤣

You are correct. I always carry a small backpack style purse when I am out and about. They are so practical, because my both hands are always free.
You’re never know what your might find while thrifting! Today I found a genuine antique Stickley table at our goodwill for $10!!

I ❤️train cases. It’s really the one thing I collect for myself. I would never sell any of them. I’m now using them for storage so I can justify it. Anytime I see one in decent condition that is not too pricey I will purchase it. I only have about 12 of them so far but I want more! The J Peterman catalogue had one that was all leather and my friend has it. I keep reminding her to make sure that she has me in her will to get that.

Your so fortunate your Goodwill prices are Low. Here in Maine Portland area , you can't flip for a good profit.. They even have a separate area that is Hand Picked prices Antiques corner. Its big business here.

I know what you mean about trusting your judgement. After years, sure, you are constantly learning, but you do have to trust your experience & judgement. There has to be a balance between stopping to look up comps and just moving along and making that decision about items, based on your gut. It's fun shopping along with you. :) I learn every time, and something I'm often reminded of is to relax and enjoy this, too.
Thanks for another great video and congratulations on eight years in the business. I sold on eBay for nearly 20 years before retiring due to burnout! I started selling when eBay was new and there wasn’t so much competition. I don’t know how you do it ( well actually I do know... you work hard) these days with all the competition.

I've learned the customs at bins can differ ... There's one in Texas where it is a real race and everyone is throwing stuff around in a frenzy. It's basically the only way to get anything good and totally acceptable. lol
I liked that sweater that had the 2 golfers on it and the under armor shirt next to it.

In the Seattle Goodwill areas we have buyers that buy the whole pallet of items after they've been through the retail stores & bin stores.

For the IKEA item, you can use the eBay bar code search option to find the item. Just go to the search option on your phone, touch the camera option, switch it to the bar code reader, and the app will automatically scan the bar code. it will bring up the item if others have listed the item using the bar code. If you are selling new in the package items, you should always include the bar code in your listing! store shoppers will often do a quick eBay check before a store purchase.

The Ikea Dignitet is a curtain hanger. If you go to ikea hacks web site you can search by name and it will not only show what it was originally used for but what people are currently using them for if you need extra keywords.

GM Karen. Love thrifting with you. The thrift store I go to in Hellertown, PA yells at you when you shop off the racks. I don't get it. Also, if a price is not on something, they will not sell it to you. It has to be put back for re-pricing and put out the next day which is very aggregating since I've found way too many items like that. I will not go back the next day. Give me a price and I'll buy it now. I just don't get that logic either when you have a buyer now.

If they have time to watch your video and complain about it, they probably aren't out there putting in all this work like you are. It's been years since I've gone to the bins. They were really deep, filled with nice stuff, but knives, broken glass etc mixed into everything. Nothing was actually sorted in any way.
The set of owl bowls go for around $25.00 or lil more. I believe Celtic company makes them many ppl collect owls too so win win
I would have kept the cabinet and taken the door off and diy it up.
Gloves are a must when digging in the bins. Is there going to be a resellers meet up this year? Maybe in Spring so it can be outside.

I watch a couple of other thrifters and they have also said people complain about them be rough at the bins. I don't think those people know how crazy the bins are lol. People even bring scissors to cut out parts of something that they want and leave the rest. Anything to get the weight down. At my bins you have to put a blanket or something over the stuff in your cart or people will steal it out of your basket if you are focused on something else! Yelling matches break out all the time ...crazy

yea its hard to find vintage tees there in the last 6 months because of those guys. I have seen them in the store with 12 friends before at the same attacking the bins lol.I have nothing against them and have never had any issues with them its just hard when your surrounded lol.

I haven't been back since COVID has started, and was wondering if they are adhering to the schedule that is posted on their website? The rotation schedule has changed quite a few times, I think you should be able to call and ask for the current situation 💜

I find it strange your GW sorts by color. In MI it is by item so much easier to peruse. I did well w/ vintage Christmas items this year. They are still selling this late in January.
I had a great haul at my GW bins today...but trust me, you are a gentle lamb compared to my fellow shoppers. They will overturn boxes, toss things everywhere and its a total melee.. A woman came up next to me
with an "ankle bracelet", not the gold kind, who literally heaved a full, heavy carton of hard goods and emptied it out in the bin.

Yes, like a lamb. It is too bad you cannot add the sound affects. I recently stopped at an outlet and when the hard goods bins were brought out, I was horrified by the crashing, clanging and breaking of glass sounds.😩

Our Goodwill's have never taken returns. It makes it more difficult to find stuff for resale because you really have to commit to it in the store. No second thoughts once you get it home and find flaws or that it's not worth much. ☹️

My Goodwills have never taken anything back! Damaged or not! They do take clothes returns now only because they have the dressing rooms closed because of COVID! But, anything else NO!

I use to try for a least 100 a week, but since I’ve started CZcams its less, maybe 75? ( per week)

I started reselling a few years back... and I was unsure on how much I have to sell to do my taxes.... I actually called eBay last year and they said I did not make enough money to even file... do you file even if you make a couple thousand bucks?
My sales are over 100k, so I definitely have to file but there are some great tax interviews with @notyourdadscpa
You would think goodwill would have one free day instead of throwing out all the items. ?
