One of the most infamous episodes of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is a prime example of this.

That episode really sucked. It was mean-spirited and taught the wrong lesson of making fun of your friend after they get carried away with their fame and showing off yourself. Ugh! What was everyone thinking?! This is the absolute worst My Little Pony episode I have ever seen!

This episode is awful! This episode got me so mad at Twilight, Pinkie pie, Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy because of how they acted in this episode. All of them except for Rainbow Dash were out of character in this. I still love them, but I hate the way they were behaving in this episode. >:(
This easily the worst episode of the first 5 seasons. I haven't seen an episode that immediately destroys itself. Had The Mane 6 actually communicate to Rainbow but Rainbow refuse to listen. It would've been somewhat justified. And the way they just take pride in the fact that it's basically Rainbow making a conplete fool out of herself to get her goid standing up was CRINGE. This moral comes across as unbelievably hypocritical, as well as kind if manipulative.
Heck, Squirrel Jokes from SpongeBob did this plot better. Not only because it was clear that Sandy did not appreciate thise jokes made against her, but it was actually ruining her life because everyone else around her actually buys into stereotypes. She tried to talk to SpongeBob twice but when he continued to do so. She tried to play out that stereotype in an attempt to make sure he learns that lesson.

@@badoomching I used to despise it but I only dislike it because of Spike being incompetent, but the rest of the episode was actually funny and The Mane 6 were alright. It was bad, but just not as bad as I thought it was in retrospect.

the fact that rainbow is my favorite character, yet there are three rainbow dash episodes i hate (this one being one of them, but also 28 pranks later, and parental glideance)
it is a good set up but dashie gets "cocky" like from 0 to 100

As a kid when the episode came put. I didnt have many opinions, therefore dont care AS much, if at all. But i can see how it coudlve been handled better
I don’t agree with the part where the mane 5 praising mare do well, because they’re not praising themselves, they’re praising the mare do well, as if she’s not the same pony, I don’t think they fully believe what they’re saying like I don’t think they’re stroking their own egos, I think they’re just saying it to see RD’s reaction, and since her reaction is jealousy they can tell she’s been letting the praise get to her head. But yes, they should’ve talked to her, I think they didn’t because they know her so well that they know it wouldn’t work
Yeah maybe, but that scene Falls apart at the End of the Episode when its revealed that they were all Playing the part!
