Ever since I saw the Warriors, Ajax was always my favorite out of the bunch. But of course, all of them are great in their own ways. James Remar is such a fantastic actor! The Warriors is one of the best movies ever made in my opinion.
Ajax was the one warrior that everyone wanted to make it too the end …………but everyone’s favourite gang has to be the Base Ball Furies ! They just looked so different to all the others !
He was fantastic in "Warriors", but in "48 Hours", just pure magic. What a powerful, compelling actor. I go see movies just because he's in them. There's not too many actors left that have that distinction for me--Clint and Michael Biehn...that's about it.
I loved Ajax, Swan, Snow and a special mention for Rembrandt who was taken from us way too soon. Warriors would have probably been toast had it not been for him against the Lizzies.
I love James Remar. He was supposed to play Hicks in Aliens but was fired on the first day because of a recurring drug problem. Oh, what a missed opportunity that was for him and all of us. He would have been great as hicks. Michael Beihn killed it but Remar would have totally sold it as a marine.
James Remar is not only great performer but also a solid man. I fascinated by his story of making it to cast in the warriors. He created one of my favorite film characters, Ajax. Such a brawler with no fear of consequences. Speaks with his fists and always up when things are about to go down. Ajax’s style is one thing that stands out to me too. His black-fingerless gloves with the black leotard inside the warriors uniform left an impression of toughness. Thank you so much James Remar for your performance.
I seriously think the depth James added to the hotheaded character of Ajax is what made him so memorable. He’s absolutely right about Ajax’s loyalty. Ajax could’ve easily outran cowboy and the furies. Instead, he matches pace with cowboy and gives him a couple slaps on the back to try and get him to pick up the pace. The furies fight scene and the arrest afterwards are incredible because of the subtleties. We find out in that fight, Ajax is practically invincible when he stands alongside his brothers. Him, Swan, and Snow probably could’ve taken any other gangs 9 chosen delegates by themselves. Then, Ajax is humbled. He and his brothers mutually leave each other behind in a moment of frustration. Ajax is cuffed, he’s hit and made to bleed. He realizes in that moment the mistake he made and all of the insecurities his character might have come straight to the forefront. F**ckin wimp
I sense that Ajax could've been a leader of the gang if something happens to Swan. It's just Ajax weren't matured enough in decision making. He was a hothead with ladies issue. He was seen harrasing a woman this is why the movie has good details to each characters. I love the entire character developments with so little time. If only he wisen up, maybe in later years if he didn't get arrested he would easily replace Swan.
Ajax was absolutely my favorite Warrior... James really nailed the part and made Ajax the most likeable "unlikeable" character of any movie I have ever seen (if that makes any sense) ... and subsequently I became a James Remar fan, watching any movie he was in (no matter how big or small the part) ... I was 9 when the movie hit the theatres, so I did not see it on the big screen, but 3 years later when VCRs came out, I saw it with my friends, and I was hooked... years later as an adult the game came out... I had not played home games since 1994 NHL hockey on Sega Genesis... but here I was, a 35-year-old man going out and buying a new PlayStation 2 just so I can play The Warriors game... and the game was awesome too... and of course Ajax was my favorite Warrior to use... Great interview... I wish it was longer... P.S. let's get that prequel made
Ajax was my favorite warriors by far..he was the most charismatic. First time I watched it I was so pissed off his character was arrested and gone half way through the movie...I wanted to watch more of his character
Hey Boppers, My name is Moise Morancy. I’m the writer, director and producer of “The Warriors” prequel proof of concept. I also star as Cleon in it. If you’re like me, someone who appreciates and loves “The Warriors,” you know in 2005, Rockstar created a video game based on the cult classic and gave a backstory to how the gang was formed. Myself and others believe this needs to be remade as a prequel. No one can hold a candle to the originators but I wanted to pay homage and give them their flowers. Because they weren’t good…they were “the best.” Great interview! James is awesome! I hope you enjoy! 🙏🏿

THE WOIST KIND! 💪 I could watch Remar tell these stories all day. Even now it's a little hard for me to think of him as an actor because he WAS Ajax. He and David Patrick Kelly delivered the best performances in this movie.
Great interview. James is one of my favourite actors. I was surprised to see him in Django unchained, and X-Men first class...😃 when I first those 2 films. He's really a great actor. Ajax was one of my favourite characters from the warriors.
@@IHaveNoLife-nc8wj No thanks. So back to the question, Who exactly finds him underrated? Or were you just trying to be clever and say that you like him without understanding what the word means?

This was an excellent interview. Great insight to the actor and how he got his start. I have a retirement home 🏡 here in St. Augustine and him making reference to it was really cool. Much respect for him.

He was in "Miracle on 34th Street" (1994) one of my favorites. I think he was one of the few who kept his acting career going after "The Warriors". Walter Hill also directed one of my favorites.."Hard Times" with Charles Bronson.
James Remar is insanely busy still. Worked with directors like Gus Van Sant, Francis Ford Coppola, Quentin Tarantino it's great to see. He was even in Oppenheimer, one of the biggest films ever just this year!
I love you James Remar! You made my experience of the movie even more thrilling! Thanks for sharing so much that went on behind the scenes with your fans. And for sharing a bit about your journey into acting. Fan4Life! ❤❤❤❤
Ajax, Swan, Mercy, Luther......They were our heroes, cause they were our age. There were few movies at that time that represented that. "Animal House" and the Warriors. I've thought over the years about what was the greatest thing about The Warriors. Everything was great, but I think it was the screenplay that elevated it to transcendence. It was what these insane actors said and Did throughout the film that just floated above the atmosphere. I put equal weight to all of it, not just "can you dig it" and "come out to play." And Mercy, you were the most refreshing and sexy character I'd ever seen up to that time in my young life.

"The Woist Kind!" Brilliant. The kind of research Pacino and DeNiro are known for in their efforts to really become their characters. Since you are familiar with Greek mythology, perhaps it should be remembered that both the Axaxes in the Trojan War ended up being victims of their own pride.
Great interview. Salute James, you totally nailed the Ajax role. Such a memorable character. Love when the doors close on the subway and you say to Mercy with a menacing stare, “so what about you?”

James Remar was such a good actor, he was so believable as a bad ass, it's hard to believe him as a regular dude.
