Bandai 1/72 B Wing Starfighter Full Build and Review
I take Bandai’s B wing and give it a color scheme and markings inspired by the US Navy’s WWII fighters and bombers. Asymmetric checkerboard wings and Barbados decals from Gundam fuel the story behind my fan lore of the Nargil. A species found on the edges of Wild Space and just outside the Empire’s and Republic’s influence. They are neutral but are not afraid to go toe to toe with anyone bringing the fight to them. During the events of Return of the Jedi and the Battle of Endor, the Nargil’s Intelligence network- the FaHara uncovered the existence of a new threat being constructed not far from their home world. Having precious resources that the Emperor could soon take at his discretion, the Nargil watch and wait for the right time to act against this new unnatural super weapon that has the destructive power of the entire Imperial Fleet in every shot fired from one single space station…….

Brilliant kit by Bandai. Not my fav of the star wars designs but unique for sure. Really like your interpretation.
Bandai did pretty good with kit but misses the mark by not having some sort of landing gear which could have easily been included. I’ve always had a space near my top favorites for this one but it’s definitely a unique design. This was a very fun build! Thank you so much for watching and your comments!

The unit badge that comes with the kit reads 1st Tactical fighter wing.
Thank you for that observation! I couldn’t tell what it said at that small size and didn’t look up anything on it. It was one of the few decals I used on my version and in a more logical placement. Thank you for your comment. I also used a Gundam decal sheet and as the logo for the Shtolm or the Nargil crest.
@@thatrandommodel I know what it said because the 1st Tactical Fighter Wing is a real unit. It was the last fighter wing my dad was with before he retired from the USAF in 1993. The decals used on the filming miniature came from a Monogram F-15 kit.
That’s really cool! I looked that up and that’s an amazing detail they left in! Check out EC Henry’s video on the helmet used for the B wing pilot that has a radio promotion sticker. I really like the details they used like that. Does your dad have any mission patches too?
@@thatrandommodel He has his patches from the 71st and 94th Fighter squadrons when he was with the 1st TFW. And he has his Rapid Deployment Forces patch from when he was in SAC at PlattsBurgh AFB with the 380th BW.
