I may have a unpopular opinion but g3 clawdeen’s face is really cute. It may be the fact that I like sweet faced dolls, but I find her face charming.
I really like her face. Although I have the moon shirt variation which I think has bigger eyes and is more rare

A good majority of my collection are dolls with sweet faces! So, I totally understand the bias. G3 overall appeals to me, though I like G1 just as much. Clawdeen G3 reminds Howleen now.

I think if G3 gave more spooky vibes like the first Gen but revamped, I would loved them. They just seem more cutest the freaky like they were supposed too. Gen 2 was just taking the cutesy factor and ran with it. Gen 3 is an interesting factor. Some of the pets of the first gen, I love way more because ngl, they kinda look like LPS now. 😅 Especially Neptuna. If they had a better balance I feel like it would have been cool. I can say this though, body types, prosthetics, and the new shoe types help make Monster High even more ride of variety. Which is cool.

honestly how hard it is to decide between g1 and g3 shows just how much they rocked g3. most fans tend to be loyal to the originals of things whenever there’s a remake unless they absolutely rock it 🤔 for most of them i like g3 the most, i just wish they used a bit more limited palettes with the characters and like you mentioned, more red and black!
for draculaura, every time i see her g3 on its own i forget how much she’s changed because she just feels so RIGHT in that new body, until i look back at her g1 and g2 and get shocked just how much changed 😱 honestly the g1 and g2 bodies just feel wrong for her to me now 😂

Same i agree that particularly Draculaura was an all around upgrade. Every part of her new doll is so cute, she is the only one of g3 that i bought, and that is also because I literally hate the rest of them 💀 i love the new body types but the other ghouls are not it, Lagoona has changed too much they should have just made her a new character, cleo’s big plastic shoes are offensive to look at, and frankie’s cheap ass looking hair is a complete dealbreaker for me. im not even gonna get into how Clawdeen is whitewashed and ORANGE looking now and her colour scheme with fuschia is horrendous 😂
Monster High was my first doll to have all of that articulation. Partly what made them so wonderful. I was always fascinated by their fragility, so tiny and pose-able.
The main thing for me is I love and miss the more gothic look the G1 dolls had, G2 we don't talk about, And G3 doesn't have that same goth feel to it but I can't dislike it because the detailing and the coloring is just gorgeous and I find each character has such a unique design now that the old dolls/cartoons sillouetes were all the same where as now they're extremely unique.
I agree with you that g2’s problem was it wasn’t different enough. When it happened I was starting college and wasn’t following mh as closely as I had when I was younger and I completely misunderstood what was happening… I didn’t know it was rebooted at all I thought it was the same line just lower quality or made a little more cutesy or something. It was only after mh stopped production and I was looking back that I discovered it had actually been a reboot! If they’d not made them so similar I don’t think they’d have been misunderstood by those not paying close attention as being essentially mh knockoffs made by the company itself lol
I personally think that G2 feels like a fever dream. The movies were ok but the dolls are horrific. I love the G3 and G1 dolls equally, and I’m still so glad they brought them back better than last time :]

I love G1, it’s the best one. But Gen 3 def has some features that are better, and honestly it’s super cute. I have to say G1 is the best but G3 is definitely follows close behind it.
The one and only thing I liked about G2 was that the bodies became more personally stylized with the molds for the characters (scales on lagoonas, the wraps on Cleo, fur on Clawdeen, vines on Venus, etc). It was always ruined though because of the horrible faces and outfits. I’m glad G3 has not only kept those personal details but expanded on it with the extra body types!
I knew about MH but never collected them. Looking at all the ghouls together I love how the new ones look, but then again I don’t have that nostalgia bias😅
G3 clawdeen is definitely more athletic, not nerdy. She just wears glasses because lots of people do. I think that them avoiding that stereotype was a good idea
Honestly I think it would be cool if they bring a G2 character into G3 like Silvi Timberwolf and also create 1 or 2 of their own characters :)
of the g2 dolls i think lagoona seems to have looked the best.
g1 is definitely my favorite. I just preferred the faces and that the clothes are darker and more edgy. My biggest disappointment with g3 is how they seem to be focusing on more of a cutesy brighter style and less of the muted and darker vibes. I do love that g3 has different body types and that Frankie is non binary and has a prosthetic leg. I think of the g3 line my favorites so far are Draculaura, Cleo and Deuce. My least favorite from g3 is Clawdeen for sure. I am sad they decided to change the characters personalities especially Clawdeens. And don’t get me started on them putting Clawdeen with Deuce 🤦🏻. I definitely am excited for a g3 Spectra doll though.
Samee clawdeen is a whole new ghoul who looks years younger! I also am not a fan of the new skin tone, it just clashes with the fuschia so bad, they should’ve kept her darker skin or kept her purple theme. Her skin now looks orange. And her face is too cartoony compared to the other ghouls
@@Futurebound_jpg Right I really dislike the lighter colored hair they have been giving her- darker brown and darker purple suits her better. And the hairstyle with her having her bangs pulled up into a bun in the front is not appealing at all and feels outdated imo. Have you seen the Clawd doll? I think with some minor tweaks he’d look better but he has such a baby face. I would’ve liked if Mattel would give the mansters different body types so Clawd would be a bit more buff because the skinny body works for Deuce but not him. I think g3 Abbey doll probably looks the best at least face wise. Reminds me more of g1 in some ways.

They don’t feel like monster high anymore… more like monster elementary, if you get what I mean; they went for cuter dolls which is a vast contrast between the more gothic G1s
i really dislike the new color palettes in g3, as a kid i loooved the dark and moody colors and the gothic-ish fashion and i miss that :-( g3 is too colorful...

With

Then we would have the perfect MH line.
It’s weird because the more I see the G2 the less I think is that bad lmao (expect for Draculaura who looks kinda ugly to me)
But yeah if I have to make a choice I’ll go with G1 all the wayyy , it’s sooo iconic

@@Justinya0 from the info I saw they just put him in the intended to be queer category and didn’t go into details, they also put him in the pride colours in lady gaga’s video. Right after talking about Neightan, Garret went into how gay valentine was supposed to be so I feel like neighthan was intended to also be gay but that wasn’t confirmed. Finnigan wake is pan though.
I LOVE G1 Lagoona. G3 is cute, but I miss the original. I really the G3 dolls in general though; the design team did a great job!

Personally the G3 are becoming my favorites! The more I see them the more I like them! Frankie is probably my favorite! The G1 will always be another favorite too since they are the original! The only pets I like from the G1 are Cleo’s, Toreli’s and Frankie’s! Thanks for sharing this, very interesting to see them side by side! 😊👍🏻
me personally, back in the day i was under the false assumption that g2 was supplemental to g1, just them branching out to younger audiences, and then i never heard from them again until one day my senior year they announced that there was a collector doll of some variety coming that october, we all thought it was gonna be pennywise, it was pennywise, and the twins, learned about g2 but only as a reboot and from there i was really hoping that there would be something else, something better but i wasnt gonna hold my breath, cause when a company messes up something, they blame the brand for its failure, and toss it in the trash never to be heard of again, but we still had the skullectors, and now here we are.
If they'd given G3 Ghoulia the red outfit UNDER that black and white jacket it would've been perfect. I've only gotten G3 Venus and Ghoulia right now (not counting skullectors) all the rest are G1. Can't do baby faces on dolls that are supposed to be in high school, so no G2's. ✌️ Freak du Chic? best. line. ever.

G3 is really growing on me, like don't get me wrong I LOVE G1 but G3 is definitely stepping up somewhere

I love all three generations , but if I can pick two it would be gen 1 and Gen 3. Gen two are sweet and beautiful with those big eyes, but I love them, too! I wish I had all three complete sets!
Why doesn't my g2 Draculaura look like that, the screening was so inconsistent I guess because mine looks sorta like the creeproduction faces, more rounded out but not /as/ terrible as most g2.

I think Cleo and Draculura are my fave G3 dolls with Duece and Clawdeen coming in second (but not together cause we stand CleoxDuece in this household) but having to deal with clawdeens hair just puts me in a sour mood. I think G3 Clawdeen would be my favorite Clawdeen, G3 Draculaura is my favorite Draculaura, I’m actually stuck between G2 and G3 Lagoona lol, G3 Deuce, G2 Cleo(but I agree the triangle bag is so weird). I like G3 Torelei’s face better but not her outfit or hair, and G3 Ghoulia personally but I wish she had pants and more red. I don’t think I have a favorite Frankie, G3’s outfit is best but I like G1’s face better.
Im obsessed with G3 Draculaura. For me G1 only ranks higher than G3 for G1 Frankie (I watched the webshow as a kid and so thats so much Frankie’s look in my mind) and G1 Cleo (love the bandages and the lip) and her body works well for me for a mummy. G3 Deuce such an improvement, G1 Deuce has Bratz boy face. I want Jackson and Holt back

G1 Frankie, Draculaura (besides face and I like, love the hair better with G3 Drac too), G1 Lagoona, Toralei, I hate all Ghoulia's besides Roller maze and I am not much of a Lagoona fan either but G1 is best for both, Cleo G1 outfits, G2 Face on Ghouls Beast Pet Cleo, whom I believe to be the best Cleo ever made (hate me if you will), NOT A FAN OF CLAWDEEN, HOWEVER G1 BUT, THE ONLY TWO DOLLS OF HERS I LIKE ARE ROLLER MAZE AND KOHL'S EXCLUSIVE KILLER STYLE PERIOD, finally G2 Deuce's body, with G3 Deuce's face, with G1 Deuce's clothes. He needs to be mixed and matched and if they hadn't of made him green I'd certainly have a hybrid of his head on G2's body and I would alter G1's outfit to fit the G2 body sculpt NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. I will, however say, G2 female bodies are my favorites. I love how they aren't chunky nor twigs. Just perfectly shaped and they neither have the hand issues of braking like G3 or the loose or oddly stiff or extremely loose G1 joints that also sometimes either stuck out weird like 2024 repro Cleo's arms that will NOT LAY FLAT TO HER SIDES NO MATTER WHAT! Or how I have had 18 G3 dolls hands just break off from the wrist peg which is ridiculous and Mattel won't help or replace anything and I've called and provided receipts and invoices the works even. I also hate how thick and just blocks of plastic all G3 accessories are made like. G1 truly has elegant and dainty teeny things which are fa-boo-lous! THOUGH ALL SHOES GO TO G1 FOR THE WIN, NO MATTER WHAT CHARACTER BE THEY MALE OR FEMALE. JUST MY OPINION.
