    Branford was in his Wayne mode at that time. I noticed then and followed him ever since. What a monster for decades.

      Totally agree. Was just talking about it the other day (with other jazz musicians). We were thinking of starting a petition, ha ha... "Drop Jazz from the name or make sure you have at least 51% jazz/creative non-commercial music in the program..."
      Pipe dream...

    Hey does anyone know if there's a specific way that Branfords plays the super fast lick at 1:39? I'm trying to transcribe his solo but this part has really challenged me. It seems almost impossible to play it that fast and I was wondering whether he is playing exactly how I thought he was or in some other way.

    • @brandoninu7140
      @brandoninu7140 Před 2 lety +1

      i think its more wall of sound than exact notes played in time, i wouldn't try to replicate it perfectly but as long as you understand what hes going for

    • @intrepidpooch
      @intrepidpooch Před 5 lety +4

      No, It's specifically called Yes AND No. I've heard Wayne explain it in person; also read the liner notes to the original recording on JuJu (there's a "Yes" section (the major A's) and a "No" section (the minor bridge).
