As one of your older fans at 70 years old this channel and your reactions are like a time machine for me. Thanks for your reactions.
Me too & I just turned 80.
It’s great to see younger generations appreciate the music that we took for granted…….
richb313 - I hate one upmanship bro, but I'm nearing 77 years, and this plus a thousand other songs from the 1970s take me aboard that time machine you refer to. People like Rob & Amber, Andy & Alex and many other reactors on CZcams convince me that the music of my youth has withstood the test of time, and will continue to inspire and be enjoyed well into the future.

And me .Will be 71 next😁
Supertramp was/is on one level with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin etc., in my opinion. One of the greatest bands of all time.
On a level with The Beatles... no other band gets that close
100% agree
Absolutely one of the most criminally underrated bands….
true no one talks about this bAND NO ONE
Indeed
Except by it's fans, of which are millions all around the world.
All their last tour dates were sold out in 2015 (cancelled due to Rick Davies illness)
@@sooparticular I do.
This group was HUGE, Breakfast in America a massive album, not a bad song! Bloody Well Right should be next reaction! ❤
Quite right!😉
@@michellemccall6511 lol!!!!
I always thought it was one of there best. simple, yet so many hidden meanings in it.
Right. Bloody well right.
Supertramp rock!
“Crime of the Century”, “Hide In Your Shell”, and “Dreamer” are some of their best
Agree! Bloody Well Right is another great one!
Up-vote Crime of the Century.
@@marymiller4494 Absolutely...! "Bloody Well Right" on a loud clean system is their Best...! imo
Yes Dreamer they will like that song
'Dreamer for sure! Plus 'Lover Boy', 'Child Of Vision' and 'Even In The Quietest Moments'.
Ah, Supertramp. Lostt one of my best friends last year to cancer and THIS group will always remind me of him. Was his favorite back in the day. R.I.P. Steve! You're still here in my heart. ✌
I'm sorry.
💛
So sorry for your loss!
@@jewelsf1925 Thank you so much!
So did I he died in Australia I went over to see him before he passed one of the hardest things I have ever had to do,he was called Steve as well
I've always loved this song.. ✌❤🎶
The bass line is insane.
Our senior class play in high school was a production of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" set to background music by Supertramp.
I would pay to see that. I hope some producer sees your comment!
That sounds like a cool take.
Amazing! Lucky Senior class!
Can you imagine when this song first hit the airwaves??? It's like yesterday for me!!
And such a "needed timeless song"
too...for every generation....
Roger Hodgson has the high tenor lead while Rick Davies has more a baritone sound. Supertramp can be as dense as Pink Floyd in some of their songs but I mean that in a good way.
Their EPIC songs: "Crime Of The Century," "Rudy," "The Meaning," and "Fool's Overture" would be amazing reactions!! ❤️🔥
Rudy really is on a train to nowhere.
mhm. the really big ones too mainstream? :P
This is a wonderful song by a fantastic band. Please add "Bloody Well Right" to your list.
Supertramp has a unique style to them, plus this a great song. So Iconic!!!
Thank you for coming home to Supertramp!!🤘🔥
I actually attended a church that had a contemporary worship service and one service, which the sermon was referencing "Giving", the contemporary worship band played this song at the beginning of the service
as well they should!
Very cool!
Amber, "Make someone smile"
Supertramp, "Send a smile and show that you care"
Amber's theme song.
This song is even more relevant today than when it was released. Great song. Always gives me hope and makes me smile. For a few minutes all is right in the world.
There is always something different going on in the background. Their arrangements are just incredible!
This was one of the songs on a tape that that special guy gave to me back in 1978. We were so in love and he put a bunch of songs together on a cassette tape and gave it to me. I was young and stupid and didn't stay with him out of duty reasons. When I was free, he had moved on. I hold on to that special time and all those songs to this day. Little did we both know that it would truly only be a "little bit" but lasted a life time for me.
They tell me it's better to have loved, and lost, than to never to have loved at all, but I find I'm still debating that conclusion.
Barb, your comment reminds me of my youth, when I used to make cassette tapes for my girlfriend. I still put together playlists on Spotify for car rides with my wife. Music is such a powerful thing
@@stevejoshua9536 I understand that famous saying. Having loved Dan G sincerely and truly, even though I don't think I will ever love someone like I do him again, that little time that we had always gets me by when things get rough in life. He is happily married now and I would never change that. Couldn't even if I tried. But, after all these years, that love he and I once shared for each other has been what's kept happiness from totally escaping me. It was enough to know such a good guy loved me once. It's kind of hard to explain but it's like that love never ceased but only grew in a different way. A way that I am grateful that he is happy even with someone else. A way that the person he is now, isn't my guy. But I have that short time where he is always my guy and as long as I remember that time and events that happened with us, I'm good. Probably sounds corny or dumb or even bizarre to some but it's all true. I think if everyone who loses someone that they shared true love with, would just embrace the time and good moments shared and move on in their life with that, there would be less craziness. To have been loved and to love, that's all we need.
I've heard that love and lost thing before too. However, if you never try a potato chip, you'll never crave another.
@@barbsturgeon That's the FURTHEST thing from "corny" --that's WONDEFUL!
Should see the 1983 live version of this song.... the crowd is enjoying it so much!
Supertramp has two lead songwriters & singers, with VERY different kinds of songs. I used to love Roger's songs, & still do, but I've come to appreciate Rick's gravelly singing, & his piano playing, outstanding.
There's a live version of "School" I've seen around CZcams recently, that might be fun to do if you want to see what the band looks like. The piano is fire, Jay will love.
“School” is probably my favorite Supertramp song. Then “Logical Song”. Seems to be a theme I have. Wonder why I flunked out? 🤔🙃
'School' is definitely one of my 2 favorites - the other being 'Rudy' - but the live versions of both lack the impact of the studio versions - the start of School makes you jump the first time you hear it.
Totally agree! The constant tension between Rick’s bluesier style and Roger’s poppier, hippie-flavored approach made Supertramp so special. Roger (I think it was him, anyway) once said that Supertramp’s songs were basically an extended musical conversation between the two of them
@@johnhoerl7326 I agree. The contrast between the two reminds me of Lennon and McCartney and enriches each album.
@@yogibarista2818 I agree, the studio version is much more polished. But sometimes it's fun to actually SEE the artists. (I saw them in concert in April 1979, on their Breakfast in America tour. Dancing cereal boxes were fun, during that song.)
Roger seems to have a stick up his ass, re: having Supertramp live videos taken down. That's my understanding, anyway, that it's Roger, & not Rick or the other band members.
I grew up with this and I can't believe that I've had times in my life where I've lost these and their progressive rock friends. I hadn't even heard of 'reaction videos' until recently! You guys are so friking pleasant and fun watch your reactions to these amazing bands and their music. Things were different then and I had one progressive rock FM radio station to listen to and me and many of my friends were building solid vinyl album collections. I could go on and on about this but I'll end with this. You guys make me smile!
"Fool's Overture", "Crime Of The Century,", "Rudy", "school" are really worth checking out
"Bloody Well Right" is absolutely their best tune. You are obviously saving the best for last.
He's right.... He's "Bloody Well Right"!
Yep - one of the best intros to a classic rock song, period.
Quite right!
Maybe their most overrated tune next to the The Logical Song any real fan would know that. Just like any real fan knows that the two albums between the only two you know are their masterpieces
"Child Of Vision" is also a great tune by Supertramp..
Back in the mid-seventies to early eighties there was no group bigger than Supertramp. They were crazy popular back then and everyone wanted to go to their concerts. They have so many hits and some of my faves are dreamer, school, even in the quietest moments, child of vision, lord is it mine, fools overture and goodbye stranger.
This is my favorite Supertramp tune, thanks for sharing. Their tune “Even in the Quietest Moments” is also really good.
Supertramp is a force. Overlooked and forgotten by so many.
I've heard this song in English, Spanish and Italian and they are all amazing renditions. Take the Long Way Home is a good one also. This brings back memories of nights on the beach, campfire and a friend with a guitar.
A top 5 all time band, imo.
Sister Moonshine is a beautiful and lesser known song that I think you'd like.
Reminds me of driving in the car with my mother in the 70's and 80's listening to Supertramp on her cassette deck. Lost her to cancer several years ago sadly. She was a big fan and so am I. She loved Neil Diamond also. She had great taste in music and I gained my musical appreciation from her.
"Bloody Well Right". That jazzy piano intro is amazing and the whole song has such a funky rhythm. Probably my favorite Supertramp piece.
I always loved "Dreamer" very unique and cool harmonies. Breakfast in America & Bloody well right are great songs too.
Always loved this beautiful song!
This song got me interested and becoming a fan of Supertramp. The Goo Goo Dolls did a nice cover of the tune!
Love it. Can never go wrong with Supertramp. They are always good listening.
Happy Memories of my youth and student days. Regularly listened to Supertramp. Glad to see younger generations discovering their great rhythm. I agree they were unique.
One of my favorite songs all time.
You’re right on about the positivity! Music is such a powerful force and it’s good if our music opens up our hearts. You guys rock!😊
My personal favorite from Supertramp is Even in the Quietest Moments. But it must be the album version which is hard to find on CZcams sometimes.
Love that song
Great Song
What I have always loved about this song is the universality of the lyrics. It can be linked to community, environment, love, world anything that means give a little bit of yourself and the rewards are amazing!. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I named one of my dogs Super Tramp! Love this band!
Hopefully "Bloody Well Right" is your next pick. My favourite. Glad you have visited SuperTramp so often. All the instruments draw you back in. Super.
How about some Tragically Hip? You'll both love them.
Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦🇨🇦
For the best piano solo in any song... ever! Child of Vision - Supertramp Live from Paris
That album is excellence!
Probably the most iconic 12 strings acoustic guitar song of that era. From the same album, you should check out *Lover boy* , it has a fun story and all the good stuff we like from Supertramp. If you do, make sure you let it play 'til the end, don't be tricked by the long silence.
Absolutely agree "Lover Boy" isn't particularly well known but, like you said, everything is in there. That's the one I always blast when I play the album in the car. That and "Fools Overture". Great suggestion.
@@TheAcarch2 fantastic guitar at the end its brilliant
First song I ever heard by them, and I became an instant fan.
Dreamer and Bloody Well Right are my picks for the next Supertramp songs!!!! :))
You’ll love the piano on “School”!
In my opinion Breakfast in America front to back side to side one of best albums ever
Stumbled on this, this last weekend. Very enlightening. czcams.com/video/mK-SgCQAtsg/video.html
I am REALLY digging the Thin Lizzy T-shirt! Give A Little Bit is one of the brightest and best songs ever! Love the full cord strum at the end.
"Dreamer" was the first song I heard from them back in 75, which made me love them
Supertramp were a great English rock band formed in 1969. They had so many great songs in the 70's-80's such as "The Logical Song", "Breakfast In America", "Goodbye Stranger", "Take The Long Way Home", "It's Raining Again", "Bloody Well Right", "My Kind Of Lady", "Cannonball", "I'm Beggin' You", "You Win, I Lose" etc.
Roger Hodgson has a hit solo song with "Had a Dream (Sleeping with the Enemy)". Lyrically, it's pretty deep and it rocks a little harder than most Supertramp songs. You might want to give that one a listen.
Supertramp are an awesome band. Often overlooked but they've got loads of cracking songs. This is one of the first 7" single I owned in my teens. Especially love the sound of the 12-string acoustic. x
One of my all time favorite songs!!!!!!you should do Take The Long Way Home!!!!
They have so many fantastic songs. Love them. ❤️
Oh man! Such a great song! Awesome band!
Always a good time for Supertramp
This song was actually used in the background. In the gas Station scene in Superman the Movie (1978). When Lois Lane is in a gas station to buy some gas for her rent a car.
Why so many reactors don't want to react to "School" by this brilliant music group? Come on. Just do it! :)
i've noticed that too. is it a concerted effort to avoid it,or are there just more popular supertramp songs keeping them from it? either way, you're "bloody well right"!
@@DannyD714 And you are.. a guy who only pretend that he writing what he think.
@@SENSEOFLIBERTY not the response i expected,but ok.
2 words... Rick Davis
@@DannyD714
Yeah I'm confused at that response too.🤔🤔
But. .."You know you got a right to say"..✌️
This is one of the songs that inspired me to take up the 12-string guitar. It's a very beautiful song. Next Supertramp song? "Lady" would be a good one, but if you want instrumental stuff, you really should check out the song "Fools Overture", and if you do, listen to the version by the guy in Supertramp who wrote it, Roger Hodgeson along with a full symphy. A very magical video!
"Give a Little Bit"
(Released: 27 May 1977) was the first single from Supertramp's 5th studio album, "Even in the Quietest Moments..." (Released: 3 April 1977). "Give A Little Bit" reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. The album, "Even in the Quietest Moments...", reached number 16 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart in 1977 and was Supertramp's 1st Gold record (500,000 plus copies sold). The album also contains one of Supertramp's FM rock radio favorites, the nearly 11 minutes long "Fool's Overture."
"Take The Long Way Home" is a great one for your next Supertramp song.
I'm going to keep suggesting until it happens: The Guess Who playing American Woman. Great guitar riff. But I really like Super Tramp - have since about 1975 or 76.
Magic Carpet Ride, too!
The Goo Goo Dolls cover of Give A Little Bit is SO GOOD!!! Y'all should check it out
Had the pleasure of seeing them as a 15 y/o mid 70's. memorable..
My all time is "Child of Vision" you will Love the Saxophone
If you guys haven’t done Goodbye Stranger it is a must on the Supertramp journey
Saw them in concert in Seattle in 1982.. they were amazing - this brings back good memories!! Thanks for a great reaction..
"Dreamer" "Bloody Well Right" "It's Raining Again" "Oh, Darling" "Child Of Vision"
My fav Supertramp song is "Take the long way home". Love em.
"Take The Long Way Home" and "Goodbye Stranger" are my two favourites but they do have a lot of great songs.
Regarding the voice, the band has two different lead singers and they have very different voices.
I agree with you.
They already reacted to them 8 months and 1 year ago, respectively
'Even in the Quietest Moments' is the best of Supertramp.
Yes! And 'Fool's Overture' is also awesome
I love your Thin Lizzy shirt.
I think Supertramp has the most feel good music as a whole than any other band.
Supertramp - it's raining again, that is my favorite of the Supertramp.. maybe because I head it before i even to school.
If you haven’t done Supertramps “Take the the Long Way Home” yet. Please do it! Great Harmonica work in it!!
they've done it
They did it already. I'm just waiting for them to do Breakfast in America and It's Raining Again.
This is a great tune! But..The Crime of the century album is one of the greatest of all time! Please hit it up :)
Love all Supertramp. You can’t go wrong!
I am 68. It is fun for me too! My wife is 21/2 years older. Together we lived through the entire time from the coining of the phrase Rock and Roll. To quote the Great full Dead: what a long strange trip it's been!
Please react to "School" My favorite song by Supertramp ! Awesome piano masterpiece!
Give a little a bit Give a little bit this should be your theme song. Give a smile . What a great song about kindness. Great vocals, strings , and horns in this song. Perfect combo.
Y’all are making me nostalgic. I’m so glad I grew up in the BEST times for music.
What would Supertramp be without Roger Hodgson, so talented and he always writes with a meaning that can be shared. I love Supertramp, I have all of their albums and I have all of Roger's solo albums.
"Downstream " is a great song that is somewhat different, but you can still tell it's Supertramp. It's also from "Even in the Quietest Moments" album.
Hide in your shell is a song you should do next. This song was so under rated. I think it is one of their best.
SUPERTRAMP was Princess Diana's favourite group
"Lord Is It Mine?" -- yet another mood.
Great song!
one of my favorite bands and terribly understated... you want more? "DREAMER" and "BLOODY WELL RIGHT" 👌👌
Love me sum Supertramp ! 😍👏👍💯
Supertramp, Legendary!!! Perfect Band.
Great song guys!! Try “Even in the Quietest Moments” next!
Check out “School”. Some excellent piano!
Such a good vibe. Thanks for checking back in with Supertramp. They will reward. As always, great channel. Love to youuuuu
When I watch you two listening to ,and loving , the music of my youth and earlier years (I’m 66 ) it makes me so happy to realise I was right 😀 you brighten up my viewing life thank you 👏👏🇬🇧🇺🇸
Blood Sweat and Tears spinning wheel or when I die
Take the long way home, breakfast in America, and Dreamer are all must listens by Supertramp.
When those first guitar chords came on the radio, it always made me smile
4:24 everytime I hear that part in the song I, for some reason start crying....not because im sad but im just feeling weirdly happy AF and im not sure why tears roll but it is what it is. One of my absolute favorite songs. The world should be singing this song together...lol
