14:40 PKP belts are of fixed size, it's not like the NATO belts that are made of individual links, which gets disconnected when the round is chambered.

@HKM4A5 Sandstorm was on the same engine. Granted not as complex as BSG gun customization but if a modder can add the Ameli LMG with Animations before the PKM, BSG can add bipods. They can get Kiba on it can't be that hard.

Iirc the way it worked in Arma was basically just instead of 'locking' it to any given surface, it basically just checked that there was a nearby surface that you could logically 'place' a bipod on and it would just automatically grant a recoil reduction bonus without forcing any kind of animation or anything. While maybe not 'perfectly' realistic, it's definitely a better solution to how most games end up doing bipods. Which is to say how most games 'lock' your gun down when you deploy a bipod and heavily restrict your field of fire.

They need to give Kalab the "PKP Walk"; essentially load a new belt then move/advance between cover using the full auto suppression as his own cover fire.

That side rail drop every time he lifts the cover is unnecessary. It is done only when there is a sight, couse it will block the opening of the cover, otherwise why do it? They should fix that only prolongs the reload animation unnecessarily. Everything else however is 100% true the internal mechanics, technically you don't even need to return the charging handle back to its forward position after charging but it's military doctrine.
Ah yes because as everyone knows, 54r doesn't kick very hard, especially when fired in a weapon with the capacity for fully automatic fire. Like, were people expecting *Suppressive fire* weapons to act like big Assault Rifles or something? Even the strongest and best trained folks aren't gonna hit shit if they fire 54r from the shoulder, Hell, I could get you a first hand source if you'd like lol
@@quimble2177 answer to both of you: I've deployed with PKM multiple times, it doesn't kick at all because it is heavy, it the weight of the weapon balances the recoil, it shoots almost like ak just vibrates your wrists too hard in an annoying way and your shoulder. I've used it successfully without much recoil in both supressive scenarios, and inside buildings hip fire CQB. It is LITERALLY a big assault rifle like you said, just the caliber and the amount of ammo can make your enemy crap themselves when hearing the bullet pass overhead
@@quimble2177 also, I'm not big or strong, I'm average, and hipfire with PKM/PKP was never a problem for hitting targets. Obviously you won't go on point cuz it's not a game, but from 3 active bursts at enemy 20m away exposed you are guaranteed 2-3 bullets will hit
@@prizrak636 the issue I take is I’ve seen people built like brick shithouses, fire 240b’s, which is a heavier MG with a similar size round, that are competent shooters, fire from the hip and shoulder, and sure, they hit the….general area, but I would hardly call it accurate, it’d make someone shit themselves and if they were where yer aiming you’ll hit the fucker.

The PKM series of LMGs doesn't use disintegrating links.
there is a segmented ones
they use partially disintegrating belts

With that MOA and the scope mount it should be possible to fire short bursts over long ranges from a prone position, on woods for example...
Without a functioning bipod I doubt it’ll be that controllable even when bursting
