The biggest risk from one of these tests is the rather high likelihood that you find out that your apparent father is not your actual father. It’s shocking how frequently this happens. 🤷♂️
Actually 8 percent of the time. About 5 percent of those fathers know. Sperm banks or adoption.
So in reality 3 percent.
A young woman in Toronto bought her entire family DNA tests. The parents had to call a family meeting. The 4 children all had the same dad, just not the one who raised them. His swimmers didn't work.
They all had a good laugh.
But for those 3 percent where Dad did not know, it must be devastating for both the father and the child. Especially if very close.
But women always talking about men being unfaithful lol
Or that you have half siblings, because your dad cheated.
Mgtow
Or that u are related to a murderer.
Ummm they already have your dna. Where do you think blood and urine samples go?
And heel pricks on new born. SS on everyone.
And social security numbers.
It's more about the terms and conditions you sign over when choosing to participate in a "fun" dna test vs. the doctor's office because they have to abide by the law or they get sued & the law is open & public where the "fun" dna spit is held by a private company to whom you just gave free reign to do God knows what with your very sensitive double helix.

This is stupid. If you do read the privacy policy for ancestry, it CLEARLY SAYS "Ancestry does not share your individual Personal Information (including your Genetic Information) with third-parties without your additional consent other than as described in this Privacy Statement. In particular, we will not share your Genetic Information with INSURANCE COMPANIES, employers, or third-party marketers without your express consent." as for the lying to the insurance companies, that is an obvious risk you take when you do a dna test, and you would opt out for hearing your parents or relatives telling you that you need to wear sunscreen because you get skin cancer. You save money on insurance when your dead!
It's just bullshit clickbait
But if another company buys Ancestry they could ignore these rules.
An insurance company wouldn't be able to use DNA information from Ancestry because people would realize that they never told those things to their insurance companies and the situation would quickly be revealed
yeah this is all about bad trump taking your stuff away.
you can wipe your ass with your express consent. read between the lines dude..

Well, it’s great to know that these DNA companies have privacy policies that guarantee not to disclose your personal genetic information, but just know if that company goes out of business or bankruptcy that policy is no longer valid.
Or if they get hacked.
And if a pharma company buys that bankrupt, 23 and me, the security scam company they would hit a gold mine of data acquisition.

I took one of these tests and found out my mother is my older sister, and my father is my older brother. I’m glad I kept searching for answers. Now I can more easily accept my unusually large face and underdeveloped genitalia, because I know why I am so different now. It takes 5 weeks for them to receive your DNA plus another 6-8 weeks for them to give your results. It is a long time to wait especially if you’re wanting to know anxiously more about your ancestors and family. It’s been 3/5 weeks for me since I sent my DNA to Ancestry. Already into the 4th week. It costs money to look at others family trees and premium information which can hinder research as much as accepting wrong info.
It doesn’t matter. Your name and stuff isn’t even shared only your email results. You don’t have to give your name date of birth etc. your literally a number and it can stay that way through the process. Your spit won’t link to a person only to a number.

I have been thinking about this in order to find out what other races that I have within in me and to find long lost family members. But I haven't done it before because I too feel like it is sensitive information that shouldn't just be uploaded online somewhere or for companies to easily access. Also yes it gives us some information that we didn't know, but it's not that beneficial. We can live good lives without this information. The people who really want to be apart of our lives would have done whatever it took to be there. Then there's no guarantee that the family we find will want anything to do with us.This one lady found that her loving dad was not her bio dad and her mom would not tell her who was.So her doing the test helped her find her true ethnicity, but it broke her heart and her dad's heart.
"I too feel like it is sensitive information' Nobody gives a damn about your DNA or your ancestry results. Hate to put it to you that way but your fear is overblown and unfounded.
Its fairly common that people find out they have half siblings, because their dad cheated.
