08:58 The Second Age Predictions
I really wish I could be excited about this... but God, I just have such a horrible feeling about it. I really hope I end up being wrong
I thinks it's set in Second age Middle Earth but it's basically Amazon making up characters and stories. I think it's going to be painful for Tolkien fans but enjoyable for people who haven't read the books and probably just the movies.
@@robertJ14 Thats seems to be the way it goes for most adaptations.
@@robertJ14 Aren’t the events from LOTR’s lore spread to few and far between for a cohesive TV narrative anyway? It seems like it’d make sense they have to fill in the gaps.
@@YourBlackLocal Yeah it's inevitable when dealing with the Second Age but it'll just be different from Lord of the Rings and Hobbit which were literally Tolkien's characters and stories put on screen
@@YourBlackLocal That's the same reason I wanted them to do an anthology show for the followup to Game of Thrones. Lots of interesting tidbits in the backstory, without trying to make up narrative threads for a continuous story.
I cant remember the last time a large corporation took one of my favorite franchises and didn't shit on it in the name of "a fresh new take"
Are you perchance referring to a certain political/social perspective that foreword minded people like Daniel swoon over? Like when Daniel said a perfect Aragorn would be the actor who played the Black Panther? Brace yourself mate, welcome to the new decade😂
@@parchment543 Did he really say that shit? Never watched this guy before, but the last thing LORT needs is to be stuffed with 'diversity' bullshit.
As I've seen many fans say: "Evil can only corrupt, not create."
Watchmen turned out to be pretty good as a tv show. At least what we have now.
@Guav Caesar you cant organically insert diversity into a genre/period where it doesn't belong. If you have an all white country and you add a black character, you then have to explain where he came from, which means you have to specifically write a scene for the sake of diversity. Thats not organic.
I am in the extremely skeptical camp but I appreciate you keeping me informed!
Bloody hope it's good though. We'll see
Same here. I just don't have faith in the writer's working in Hollywood anymore. If someone like, say, Guy Gavriel Kay, was a writer on this show, I'd be a lot more hopeful. But for now, I'm fairly pessimistic. Time will tell.....
Im in the camp with an ominous sense of dread hanging over it.
@@jonathonfrazier6622 is your camp admitting members? I wanna join your camp.
I’m in the hopeful camp, as I too thought there was a lot the writers could bring in of the various races of men, their fall to Sauron’s influence and politicking, and even the lead-up to the forging of the Rings of Power. SO much to explore and expound upon. Will I agree or like it all? Probably not. But I will enjoy a faithful effort. I would have to see episodes to fall into the skeptical camp.
Want to see Númenor but also would love to see Celebrimbor, Annatar, the forging of the rings of power and the war between Sauron and the Elves. That would be so EPIC!
I hope one day they do the war of wrath or something in the first age
I mean, nothing says all seasons have to deal with the Second Age - we could have the back half of the show turn into an epic retelling of the story of the Silmarils. Who knows.
Tolkien's estate has refused to grant Amazon permission to depict any events outside the 2nd age. This is according to Tom Shippey, a Tolkien scholar and biographer. Perhaps that permission will be granted for later seasons.
@@mastermind747 Yes, I'm aware of that, but I see it as a definite possibility that they may expand the scope if the first few seasons of the show are good enough and match Tolkien's vision.
Also, it's possible the views of the estate may change now anyway, after the death of Christopher - But I don't know how much he was involved in the decision-making.
given just how bad most 'epic battles' are done in TV shows these days, i'm perfectly happy not seeing such a thing attempted.
If they do link it somehow to PeterJackson's movies, they NEED Howard Shore to compose the score for it
They just need Howard Shore.
@@elijahtaylor4698Howard Shore was a master in LOTR. The only 2 people that could rival Howard Shore is either John Williams or Hans Zimmer
@@sciencebrainwiz7051 yes...but no they can't give that Middle-Earth feel, mate. Only Sir Howard Shore! 😀
@@aran2457 your not wrong
We actually NEED him, just imagine the music he'd compose for the numenorians holy fk. Noone can match him
17:39 Yes. Yes, I think Sauron will look like a fat green gummy bear.
That would certainly make him look trustworthy.

yes it should be a direct continuation of peter jackson's lotr in some senses, visually it should look similar and the music should be kept the same but I also think that the amazon show should dive a bit deeper into the lore then jackson did
VTR Productions also: No. Wilhelm. Screams. Please.
It is connected to the movies not the books this is the movie middle earth universe not the book middle earth universe
When you say visually, do you mean racially? As far as I know, Hobbits where portrayed wrong by Jackson. Tolkien described them as brown.

Can’t help but think if Tolkien were alive today he would despise a guy like Jeff Bezos
Exactly
He would despise most of us
Tolkien repeatedly declined film offers- he never wanted Lord of The Rings to even be a movie.
Although I personally enjoyed the 2000s trilogy Amazon will undoubtedly ruin this, if not in the first season then certainly by the second or third. Everything they produce these days contains subversive propaganda. LOTR is a humble European folk tale. What do you see these days that isn't direct hatred of our people, our culture and history?

I read Wheel of Time and Lord of the Rings for the first time this year.
That’s awesome! This year I read the Silmarillion and I’m almost done with the last Wheel of Time book.
I feel you on the fantasy exploration. I read A Song of Ice and Fire, read The Stormlight Archive thus far and am currently reading the 4th WOT book. It’s a good time to be reading fantasy. I’m also so happy we have Daniel who has set up such an awesome community
I finished Lotr and ASOIAF and read Dune. It is a great time to read SFF!
what a fun year for you then!
Which was better? Lotr or wheel of time?
This sounds like a trainwreck waiting to happen.
Stunning and brave cast there. That makes me really worried that the writers don't understand the world Tolkien built, unless those characters are Easterlings or from the south.
I think I know what you're saying and I agree. See my above comment.
@@chuckfriebe843
Imagine seeing a black elf just because the writers saw the word 'Dark Elves' in Tolkien's writings.
@@Riri-oj1zs that's funny as fuck! 😂
I am not so sure, I think Amazon is taking this sorta thing seriously. I know for a fact that Amazon has worked with Tolkien scholars before on the show, and considering that they the Tolkien Estate has reserved the right to retcon anything they find objectionable on the show-- that isn't the primary thing I am worried about. I am more worried about the tone of the show. But we'll see.
I researched many of the cast members and unless they will be playing orcs then it is already a misrepresentation of this legendary European tale.
I think visually I would love if this series took inspiration from the Peter Jackson movies. That team nailed the look of middle earth in my mind. However, I would also like it if they went in some different tonal and theme directions too in order to mix things up a bit
That shouldn't be too difficult to do without breaking continuity. Pre-Numenorean Middle-Earth isn't well defined in Jackson's movies, so they'd have a lot of room to play with.
I’m torn on just how much the show should look/feel like an in-universe successor to the PJ films. On the one hand, the aesthetics and design of the movies were amazing and I’d love to see more in that world. On the other hand, if the show is real bad...having a different look/feel will make it easier to pretend the show never sullied Middle Earth 😆
Expensive doesn’t equals quality
True it atleast shows they have no excuse then if they do do bad lol.
@@ugadugaga4972 many times I’ve seen shows that looked good but felt empty and uninteresting, what makes a show great is how that show drags you in, whatever your likes are, for example queens gambit, I never ever cared about chess, but I was obsessed about it after I watched the show.
It’s true, but at least maybe the CGI will be better than the hobbit with all that $$ 😂
70% of the budget will go on marketing.
This will be the one series I will definitely watch as religiously as I can. Even if I'm don't like it that much, I will watch it.
I mean, with that user name, anything else would be a monstrous surprise to me :D
Oh hey, I named my cat Luthien!
If they ruin it you cant watch it.
These people obtain successful shows and morph then into what they think is socially and politically hot.
This is not a show that is socially or politically aware. It is a fantasy.
Do not support the gutting of what culture we have left so the richest people in the world can exploit fantasy for more money.
@Ja Y you are right lotr is about racial justice and pronouns.
I must have read it wrong
@@Sewiefortune What are you talking about? Fantasy and Science Fiction are basically built on top of discussing social issues and all kinds of ideas. Yes, science fiction does this a lot more than fantasy, and yes, Tolkien was much more about exploring general philosophical ideas like how people face despair or what the nature of evil or hope are, but fantasy in itself is absolutely dealing with all kinds of complex societal themes, and pretending it is just dumb entertainment does it a huge disservice.
I definitely vote for continuity in music and vibe. I want to be hopeful but I just can't let myself get my hopes up yet!
What could also be interesting is seeing one of the Nine receiving their Ring of Power from Sauron and seeing it corrupt them.
I hope there's a lot of haradrim for this to make sense
Not to be Hasty...but you got a point.
You're more optimistic than me if you hope this series might make sense
I'm not that optimistic any more. Any way, I'll watch it illegal, I'm not gonna pay for that shit.
Got to be honest, as a 40 year old man who has been LOTR mad since I was 17... this doesn't inspire me much.
Wish I could have more faith, but I know too much about what happens on TV shows to have faith for this. Especially in the current TV climate. (I know way too much about what happened with the cancelled GoT spin off, and none of it was pretty)
If they are going GoT then the Downfall of Numenor is a great setting for that sort of intrigue and politics. I think that you have to set up The Lord of the Rings if you are doing a Second Age TV show. I want to see Ost-in-Edhil and the city of the Noldor. This is why they came to Middle Earth, to rule a realm of their own away from the coddling passive Valar. What if they could have the best of both Aman and Middle Earth? Enter Annatar, Lord of Gifts who has an idea or two about that Ring of Power project that the Jewel Smiths are currently working on. We can get a look at Noldo politics as Celeborn and Galadriel get the boot and are replaced by Celebrimbor counseled by his inventive partner Annatar. If you do a Lord of the Rings show aren't you obligated to make some Rings of Power and to let us see the forging of the One Ring?
I agree with much of what you've said. I've made similar comments on another channel about how the Noldor power struggle in Eregion would make a great story thread within the wider series narrative. Celebrimbor is tailor-made for a complex flawed tragic anti-hero character who's arc is perfect for long-form TV story telling. It will also showcase that not all Elves are flawless and can be led astray.
Been a huge Tolkien fan all my life, and I am to the point that I would rather see this show cancelled than made. Firing the Tolkien scholars and replacing them with a hack like JJ Abrams (who ruined Star Wars already) told me all I need to know about this show. I don't trust Abrams to correctly portray the themes of Tolkien in the slightest. He's the worst person for this job.
Wait. What. Jar jar abrams? Ohh boy, middle earth flares.
Fire, fear, ahbrahms! [also probably said by saddam]
He was actually hired to replace the scholars' role, not just an additional writer/director/something? ):
Wait, wait wait...
You're not actually saying that the guy that filmed the 3rd Star Wars FLOP trilogy is requested to film LOTRO material?!
Please God, no...
@@Vikingr4Jesus5919 we are all doomed then.
I love how Daniel acknowledged The Queen's Gambit as a diamond among Netflix's series'. Indeed a great watch!
I want its style and art to be similar because nostalgia.
My friend from school here in New Zealand just got cast in a featured role in the series. So awesome!
In addition to the obvious (good writing, directing, etc.) you know what I'd love? I'd love it if they had a "grand plan." The LOTR trilogy was filmed back-to-back and they had a plan. I hate it when TV shows have a wishy-washy plan for 2 or 3 seasons and then "wing it" for any subsequent seasons (edit: see the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Very well-made movies, and each is entertaining enough on its own, but it's clear that they didn't have a "grand plan" for the trilogy as a whole).
Additionally, I'd love it if they really focused on practical effects. That was a common complaint about The Hobbit. Because of studio meddling and whatnot, Jackson was kinda screwed and made decisions that I don't think he would have made otherwise, such as including a crazy amount of CGI (if I'm remembering correctly). Anyway, I hope they really put some effort into practical effects and minimizing CGI.
Finally, I hope that the show is limited. With such a gargantuan budget, I worry that it will actually become a stumbling block for the show. In the DVD extras for LOTR, Jackson said that they were forced to be creative in the films because they didn't have a massive budget. That led to a lot of great sequences that would have looked different, had they had a bigger budget (for example, Gandalf riding out to save Gondor's soldiers fleeing Osgiliath from the Nazgul). Michael Scur (huge T.V. name, involved with The Office, Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99, and The Good Place) said that one thing he likes about traditional T.V. is that creators are forced to fit into time constraints and 3-act structures and that really pushes everyone to be creative and to make the most with what they have, time-wise. In my opinion, one reason that Netflix originals really struggle is that they don't have parameters in which to work and the incentive for creativity isn't there in the exact same way. Granted, I don't really know anything about media production, but I would imagine that if I *knew* that I was limited to, say, 22 minutes, I would edit like crazy and make sure I kept only the very best of the script. If I was working for Netflix and they really didn't care if my episodes were 20 or 30+ minutes, I would likely be less incentivized to edit and re-edit until I found the best version of my script.
Anyway. That's just my take.
I'm terrified of them using too much CGI like in the hobbit
The story from the viewpoint of the victims of war will be so interesting to watch.. I think even more than the mainline plot..
Ah don’t you love it when you click on a video right after it has posted and there is no way anyone could have finished watching it yet? It’s such an interesting experience
Personally I think the focus of the show will be Annatar's entrance to and scheming in Eregion, the forging of the Rings of Power, the War of Sauron and the Elves and ultimately the intervention of Tar-Telperien's numenorean navy and army led by Minastir, the future king of Numenor.
I want it to be like Jackson's LOTR in aesthetic feel, absolutely. I feel like he captured it perfectly, that his visual interpretation is somewhat on the level of canon.
Damn, Daniel on Legendarium is one hell of a crossover!

I want it to have the Peter Jackson feel in the show, I loved it in the movies.
I and the other true Tolkien fans hate Jackson’s lotr Bollywood trilogy, for the most part), just as the true fans of Rowling do not like the Harry Potter movies. It is exactly the same as the true fans of George Lucas do not like the Prequels, and hate the Hobbit Trilogy.
I say Bollywood trilogy because of all of the action that Jackson and the other filmmakers put in. And no, I am also not talking about some of the costumes and world-building, a lot of the casting, New Zealand itself or the music. This is because those were the only good, (not great), parts.
Jackson even admitted in the Behind the Scenes that his favorite parts about the book are the monsters and battles. This is a huge disservice to Tolkien because he fought during World-War One, and was a Devout Roman Catholic.
All of the CGI is also trash because you can tell that they are special effects. CGI only works properly when nobody can see it.
Most of you “Tolkien fans” love each of his films because he did not put any history, mystery, suspense, or Christianity, (character development).
You guys are also not fans of Tolkien because if you were, then you would always be talking about the pretty much all of the scenes in the book, and not the films.
Before Jackson directed the lotr trilogy, he also directed his Bollywood horror films.

One of my favourite things from the shadow of Mordor games was seeing Sauron as a shapeshifter. Would love to see that done in the show.
Yes, I definitely want to feel some sense of continuity in terms of visual aesthetics and the music. Everything else would feel like a weird, harsh break. Also, one of the things I love most about Peter Jackson's production is the amount of heartblood, sweat, tears and love that went into it, which I think can be seen in the end product. The amount of effort that went into sets, props, costumes, scripts etc. was simply astounding and wonderful to watch (and yes, the bts content is amazing and I have watched it several times). It's great to hear that John Howe is involved in the Art department which will hopefully help with a sense of continuity. This doesn't mean that Amazon isn't supposed to be creative and inventive in their designs, but I want them to respect what is already out there.

Something tells me the showrunners wont know much LOTR lore.
Hey Daniel! I'm new to your channel and I love your content! I wanted to know if I should read LOTR before Wheel of Time and Malazan since those books were heavily influenced by LOTR. I'm pretty new to the fantasy genre, and I admit, I'm intimidated to read such a great series. Should I start with Mistborn or just go for the big guns? Thanks!

Huh two male writers working on a Fantasy show who have had no prior work on television now where have I heard that before.
Well the results were outstanding with direct material. The problems came later
@@mith2946 It wasn't even a question of the material. HBO offered them 10 seasons, but they wanted to do it in seven. So they compromised by making season 7 seven episodes long and season 8 six episodes. They didn't even want to work on it anymore, they rushed it so that they could move on to other work,
They dumped Shippey which scares me.
I think the dumping part is a silly rumor more than everything else. It's way more likely his job (consulting while writing the scripts) was simply over. There is really no reason for him to stick around in NZ for filming or post-production, when he was only hired for helping with the plot and storytelling.

Purely visually, Peter Jacksons take was, more or less, John Howe's take and I'm very glad to hear John Howe will be working on this series.
That said, I'm highly sceptical about it, in general. I'm almost MORE concerned by the amount of money they're throwing at it. With that level of funding they simply have to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, and that will be a much higher priority than staying faithful to the source material.
The "wider audience" is 90% a myth, it's bullshit. You just crash your existing market. That said, every single corporation seems to believe in the myth to some extent.
It doesn't matter though, it's going to crash and burn the world building and themes of Tolkien's work.
"Do you want this show to be the same inworld continuity etc"
Yes. Why? Because why not?
Don't fix what isn't broken. Especially dont fix what is still applauded 20 years later. There is no question here.
I think you make good arguments. Personally, I'd prefer a different continuity just because I'd love to see the same characters re-imagined by different actors, should those characters show up. But I'd be happy either way (if the show is good, ofc).
Unfortunately for you, the Tolkien Estate does not feel the same way as you. The new series *will* be a true Middle-earth, not the Jackson perversion.
*looks at the casting*
I was kinda skeptical and still am but the second age stuff y'all described sounds pretty epic. I hope they pull from that at least for the background.
It is epic, but what rights Amazon has? The setting... does this tell the story of hobbit Sam Burrover? Does this tell the story of rnager named One Eye or any other fictional character that Amazon writer makes up, to adventure in that settings, or do They have rights to show event that Tolkien has writen from that time period?
And those Are the big questions... all in all They must write the most part from their own heads in anyway. Are the writers good? Can They make anything that even remotely feels like Tolkien... most likely not. Is it still good? Maybe, maybe not. Big questions to be waiting ansvers!
Still not to sure how the show will go, but im kinda hyped now given the explanation by legendarium
Bayona, as you probably already know, is spanish. And he's very famous here, having won several important awards and done some of the most popular spanish films like you mentioned "The Impossible" or "The Orphanage". I love your content Daniel. Espesially every wot video. You got me reading them and wot is my favorite book series so far ☺️.
Peter Mullan is a fantastic actor. Could easily see him playing a dwarf or possibly even an orc.
And the fact that Lenny Henry, a comedic actor/tv presenter from the U.K. is in this show blows my mind and I can’t wait to see who he’s playing!
He was pretty damn good in "Cursed" - which was also a pretty good show, all in all.
@@figrollin you should check him out in a film called Children of Men. It’s a small role but it shows he could easily play a dwarf that’s a bit tapped or an orc captain or something 😬
"Usually as an tall and atractive elf or man - not unlike myself" I love this dude :)
The pessimist in me says this will be another notable chapter in the ongoing saga of post-modernist deconstruction that has claimed in recent times a few of Western entertainments crown jewels. Tolkien's universe would be a notable scalp, arguably comparable to the reduction in lustre of the Star Wars brand. No hate, it might be wonderful. I'm not a Tolkien diehard, more of an enthusiastic observer, so I'm hoping everything turns out wonderful.
I worry the same. As long as they highlight the fact that Numenor started as deserving of their rewards and glory, and that their fall was engineered by Sauron, I think it can be really good. As long as they don't make it a transparent critique of modern culture, and its stereotyped boogiemen, it can maintain its more timeless quality. From the cast, it seems we may get some perspective from people that later would form the Haradrim, which I've always wanted to see.
@@TheYgds Actually stated to decline long before sauron got involved. They started to struggle against the Ban and feared death millennia before they attacked Valinor and enslaved middle-earth.
Daniel, how do you film the ‘The Children of Húrin’ without an intimacy coordinator?
Yeah that story is pretty GOT level.
That's part of the Silmarillion not the second age time frame.
That made me laugh SO HARD. It's true.
My guess is that the studios involved will make decisions based on what they think the general audience will want so for better or worse, it will have the look and feel of PJ’s LoTR trilogy. Either way, I’m interested enough to see what Amazon does with what’s been given to them. Great video! Thank you 😊
Continuity?? YES!

It would be awesome if the show follows the visual style of the movies.
Daily reminder that the phrase: “Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread” implies that there was a time when people had to chomp into that loaf.
Or just tear off chunks
Have you not done that?
You can have small bread you know?
It refers to pre sliced bread. Bread you buy sliced. A concept younger than Queen Elizabeth ll
In my country pretty much nobody byes pre-sliced bread, matter of fact when i eat from a loaf/baguette most of the time i just tear up a chunk (from an eighth up to a quarter/half) with my hand rather than slice it with a knife.
The task of capturing the soul of lotr on film must be unbelievably hard.
Answer to the question: YES - ABSOLUTELY YES
I didn't realize they had Howe as art director and previously thought it wasn't going to be in New Zealand, and the fact it is is a huge relief. The best case scenario for this to me is "more Lord of the Rings", and changing everything arbitrarily wouldn't really help. Especially given the relatively light source material to work on, most people will be unfamiliar with the story they're trying to tell (and much of it will be original concept anyway), and without the thematic links it just wouldn't even feel like the same world. Super glad to hear that they're at least likely keeping it consistent.
It should be a continuation of Peter Jackson’s because: 1. Familiarity to help with immersion in the story 2. It was so well done. Use CGI when appropriate and that would be a great start
Looking at how The Witcher and The Hobbit turned out I fear it flops.
The Witcher is actually good..and so was the Hobbit..they were both received well..the fact that YOU don't like it doesn't mean that it will flop..ppl were criticizing The Watchmen on HBO and that show turned out to be one of the best shows out..IMO better then the movie.
@@Rogue-bt4wp Shit must have a great taste. 1 million flies on a turd cannot be wrong
I think Craig hit the nail on the head regarding continuity: This is millennia before LotR, but it's the same world. Scenery should be familiar, races should be familiar etc. but where they will hit gold is by giving context to some of the LotR references of times past (like the giant statues they pass in the river). If they can give us some sweet nuggets like that and use it to explain the current show's world, lore, customs etc. that'll be awesome.
Great guest--was that Tolkien's actual pipe?!?
I wouldn't mind a wheel of time before the breaking type technology increase if it's set on numenor
The show needs to have one foot placed in the aesthetic of Jackson's films with one foot placed in the new production's own vision.
The numenoreans had a lot of interaction with harad and umbar as well as the North so this would allow for a diverse cast without contradicting Tolkien
I love your shirt! This is a great video, but I want a shirt like that
I hope they maintain some subtlety in the drama. I want a serious historical reconstruction with "gravitas" type of thing more than a character drama. I think it will be good, but pure chance as to whether or not I end up liking it. Getting the tone right will go along way for me. Something to look forward too.
It will be shit, calling it now.
I wasn't hyped at all, but after watching The Boys I believe in Amazon lol
Enjoyed the 1st/2nd Age crash course. I am looking forward to this show, but for some reason just can't get as hyped about it as I am about The Wheel of Time show.
Well, it is nice to hear someone else geek out of LOTR, and I am looking forward to it, because I am a huge fan; it got me into writing. Almost used a comma instead of a properly used semicolon there. As long as they keep use the source material appropriately and not try to turn it grimdark, I'll likely have little complaints.
The semicolon life, am I right?
My main concern is that they’re going to try and be “inclusive” with the casting. Which in turn will completely throw the lore and history of middle earth out the window
What do you mean by that??
@@Rogue-bt4wp elves and most humans were white in the story. The only "colored" humans you could even consider were the haradrim, and even less so with the easterlings. Essentially, having colored characters wouldn't make sense geographically. It was one of my distates with the Netflix witcher show as well. If you want to be inclusive, make it geographically accurate for goodness sake. We didn't have that diversity back then, and neither did Tolkein's world.
@@lordfabulous6198 it's NOT real so it doesn't matter..it's not even based on the real world..there is nothing wrong with including ppl of color..I cannot for the life of me understand why that would bother you or ppl who think like you. You may not like to hear it but you are being racist.. something so meaningless like adding ppl of color to a fantasy book, movie or TV show would not bother you or anyone if you weren't. Well all I have to say is get used to it, this is going to be the norm and ppl like you (who are the few) can't change it.
@@lordfabulous6198 also adding ppl of color does not in ANYWAY change the story..it doesn't change the plot..there is no reason why an elf can't be black or brown..the color of the skin literally does not matter to the story..I'm glad they are making the show diverse..I think it will look real since it will reflect the real world. And had elves existed you honestly think that they would not mix? Please racism is a construct of religion..as ppl of ancient times did not discriminate based on the color of ones skin but of you social status meaning if your rich or poor.. that went for anyone black, brown, white. Also FYI black knights existed in middle evil times England and no they were not slaves.
@@lordfabulous6198 you really trying to say people of color didn’t exist when lord of the rings was written? Who gives a shit man let the elves be black its not that deep. The Harfoots are described as having brown skin anyways so fuck off with the “everyone was white in middle earth except the explicitly evil humans, they can be brown” argument. It’s tired and racist.
With a budget that big, the show has to be good :)
A big budget doesn't always mean it's a good show/movie. Just look at the avatar (blue people) movie.
@@kaladrios Avatar was good
@@kaladrios Avatar aka Pochaontas but make it blue
Game of Thrones Season 8 flashbacks.
@@ramzes2624 Avatar wouldn't have even been a good episode of Star Trek Voyager. The movie was pretty, the story was crap...
Daniel you need to see A Monster Calls! It's one of the most beautiful adaptations I've ever seen! However, it is about loss and learning to live with tragedy and that's a hard subject for some people to watch so a small warning there.
Cool shirt bro
