My daughter has rescued a dog, he was 4 months when they had him, he clearly had issues from the start as although I took him for a walk every week he would not let me put his lead on or take it off. Over time he has become very protective over my daughter and granddaughter and aggressive with everyone else including my grandson and other dogs dependent on breed. I’m sure the dog picks up on their anxieties which now makes him worse. It’s a shame you are so far away, because I’m sure you you would have the solution. Thank you for the video, amazing how you helped the whole family as well as the dog to deal with their anxieties. Best wishes from UK

I have been amazed over and over for years what Cesar is able to accomplish. I know there are a lot of dog lovers in the world, but for him to be able to help these dogs and families is truly a gift. Cesar is a man with a big heart, and just about a genius in what he has made his life's work. I believe the dogs sometimes simply cannot comply with what the humans want them to do. They aren't humans, they don't speak English. It seems to work if the humans can understand what the dog needs so they can be the best pet. There always seems to be a lot of love in the cases Cesar steps in. I'm always so happy to see Cesar bring things together the way he does, so the dogs are happier as well as the families. It's so important to have the positive energy. Clearly the dogs know the difference and it seems to be the key. As always Cesar, well done.

I had a PTSD service dog and it was so awesome. But I taught kids how to be gentle with him and give him commands. It was so cute to see a little 2 year old ask him to sit and he would. Then they pet him. Kona is a Service Dog, Not a therapy dog. A therapy dog is for other people, like take them to a nursing home, etc. Please do not use the terms incorrectly.

The way the mother described when "Levi became a normal toddler who wants to lie on the dog and pull it's ears..." says it all. The parents failed to advocate for their dog and give their child boundaries. Cesar was sooo tactful, starting on how to walk the dog & how to drain it before showing them a calm activity for their toddler in order to regain the dog's trust. But that'll all go away if they don't seriously stop/prevent their toddler from annoying the dog. I wish that Cesar was blunter about that. But I guess he was "managing" the mother

@@iyamwhatiyam547 I know I replied to your comment but looks like it was deleted of never came through. My point is that I'm concerned that, in the long term, the mother may not implement what Cesar taught them and will revert to letting her son be rough on the dog because she believes that, just because it is normal toddler behavior, it doesn't need to be corrected so much. I hope that doesn't happen because her husband, the vet, does indeed deserve to have his dog.

Not a service dog and I'm glad you changed the language. A service dog is thoroughly vetted and trained professionally, not by the dog's owner. In particular, a PTSD dog must be trained in a way that doesn't promote the symptoms of PTSD (hypervigilance as one of those symptoms). I'm glad these folks got help w/their dog and child and can now reap the rewards of having a great dog. And, no....Levi should never "know" he's the boss....the parents are. Be a great pack leader!

The child needs clear rules for interacting with the dog - no pulling, grabbing etc. Also: the crate/ dog bed etc. is a safe place where nobody should be except the dog (and nobody should approach the dog).
It seems like it's the dog's fault, which is absolutely not true (Kona is not a 'problem dog').
Please adress these issues above more clearly. I think many people don't understand the importance of that when they see this video.

Once he is restricted, and the dog trusts him not to hurt him, and not get inside his timeout space, I'm sure they will be able to lay side by side. The parents didn't limit the child's harming the dog, so the dog reacts.
