Really good video. What I thought you can add, when bat and enigma blink they just disapear. It seems as if they have such an ability, but it's actually an item ability. So you can make like they stab in the air with a dagger just before they disappear.

BKB doesn't prevent spell steal... i.e it doesn't stop Rubick from stealing it and using it on Enigma (even if the Enigma has a BKB on). He'd need to have a Linken's Sphere as well to block the spell steal :)

In fairness, only in prize pool.
I'm going to be lynched for mentioning the LCS but the IT4 is being held in a 15,000 seater stadium, while the LCS sold out Wembley in london, in only a few minutes, which is 90,000 seats. I know they didn't have 90,000 there, because of the stage and stuff but it was way more than 15,000.
And that's not even the finals, just part of the regional season for europe.
Edit - I got my venue confused. It was Wembley Arena, not stadium, which has a 12,500 capacity.
Although LoL still beats Dota in this regard, due to selling out the 18,000 seat Staples Centre last year.
We'll have to see if the LoL world finals get more views than the IT4 finals, but as it stands, in regards to things other than prize pool, LoL actually trumps Dota as an e-sport.
Whether it's a better game or not is a different subject which needs to be discussed elsewhere.

It's not a secret that LoL is more popular than Dota. It is completely fine the way it is now but it would become ridicolous if Valve tried to fill a 40k people stadium which obviously would not work.
Dota 2 profits from the fact that all tournaments are still very personal. In most cases fans will be able to spend time with their favorite players which is not possible on LoL.

That is the beauty of DotA 2. No one knows what the new meta is going to be until it hits you in the face with it because it is ever changing and ever evolving. So buffing a hero simply because he is sometimes portrayed as the mascot of this years incarnation is a stupid notion.
He is strong enough. When played with Io he is still decent.

agreed, i believe the last change to naga was a nerf and holy crap she's probably one of the most relevant heroes for Ti4. Then again she keeps making a comeback every Ti. Ti2 Chinese teams use the Naga Darkseer combo, Ti3 Alliance use her as a support to lock down BKB carries (among other things), Ti4 farming naga split push illusion army siege. That's a pretty darn versatile.

I've always thought of Dota being a strategy game where you play one of the most powerful units, and creeps are disposable, easy to build units. As you get stronger, it takes longer to rebuild you.
I never once thought of it as chess, but it makes sense- it isn't what pieces you have that determines victory, but what you do with them.

Dota is awesome, but this chess comparison is being forced by those who has never actually played chess.
Actually its resembles a lot like it, as an analyst/ commentator said in the free to play documentary by valve "if i had to explain dota 2 to someone i would say to them that it's a combination of football and chess". The strategy and thinking demanded by this game in a competitive scenery (and not only there) is nerve shattering for some (Lamn from dk recently went to the hospital cause of some bad migraines he is having throughout the international ), and then you have the execution which has to be perfect...not to mention the fact that the whole team needs to act as a single unit in certain teamfights. You can be a professional chess player at the age of 90, but in dota after 25 years...you start to become slow, your eyesight weakens, your reactions take more time, thats why you barely see any pro gamers past the age of 25, there are a few and those looking to retire any day now.
2 sides using unique pieces with different strengths and abilities tactically pushing towards one another and strategically outplaying the other person. Sounds like the one who hasn't played chess around here is you.
I play a lot of Dota and a lot of Chess. It isn't the perfect metaphor, but I think it fits nicely.

Reminds me of how Heroes of the Storm buildings were based on chess pieces. Some of the defensive towers still are, but the concept is gone. I did want a ChessCraft. Anyway this was a real fun video to watch. The Chaos Knight is badass and lordly as hell and the action was so pleasing to watch.
As a Chess player... I don't think it's the same...
