    Gotta love Cowboy, seriously..... he lives the words he speaks. Not many people can say that. As for Jones. Once again he looks at the game/style of his opponent and he takes it to them in their own style and he does it better than they do. He beat up on Texira, he out wrestled Cormier, he slept Machida, doesn't matter what someone brings, he shows them that skill at another level. Hate all you want, Ive loved John Jones since the first time I saw him fight and he is on the way to being one of the best of all time.

  • @mikenixmusic
    @mikenixmusic Před 9 lety +58

    Jones isn't just responding to Cormier, it's to all the ppl that want to see him fail. When he was classy, he made a bad personal decision and ppl started hating him. So now he's responding with "fire". I think he's better than that, but this was a personal fight, with genuine dislike between the 2, and Jones has feelings too. Besides if DC would've would've won like most wanted, nobody would've felt sorry for Jones... It's a beast, when most of your audience wants you to fail..

      Pro Era True. But I get where Jones is coming from. If you don't like a guy and you kick his ass, it's fake to then act sympathetic towards him when you still honestly don't like him. DC may have changed his view of Jones, but he talked a lot of shit about Jones as a person and I guess Jones really took that shit personal. I'm glad the reporter forced Jones to admit what he said backstage though, 'cause he was being a little fake the first time he was asked about his respect for DC.

    That was embarrassing for Cormier. I mean, I said Jones would win, but I expected Cormier to put u a Gustafsson level fight and get some really good takedowns. However, I was completely wrong to say that cormier would rag doll Jones. He made such a large deal about how he is the "equal" to Jon Jones and that he would even "break" him. Dude got outclassed.

    • @josephpark3377
      @josephpark3377 Před 9 lety +6

      3 even rounds and 2 grinding rounds ? Outclassed ? Really ? Boring ass fight. I understand that he needs to follow his game plan but seriously...I expected more from jones. I don't know what fight you were watching but that sure wasn't outclassed...Jon jones vs shogun is a better example.

    • @heroman711
      @heroman711 Před 9 lety +2

      Maybe outclassed is a strong word, but I think we definitely learned that they are certainly not equal. Olympic wrestler got double legged 3 times in a row. Thats embarrassing no matter what way you look at it. And if you wanna say that its because Cormier was tired, go ahead and look at that great trip that Jones did in the first round. A take down is a take down. Cormier had some pretty good strikes the first couple of rounds, but then he just gassed himself. I am by no means a Jones fan. In fact, I wanted Cormier to win, but didnt think he would. However, I thought Cormier would put up a better fight considering he said he would try to "break Jon Jones". Atleast he threw him in the 5th round

    • @josephpark3377
      @josephpark3377 Před 9 lety

      Age 4-8 taekwondo. 12-18 boxing with 2 years of highschool wrestling. Currently training juijitsu and muaythai. So yes I have the right to tell you to go train. So what styles of mma did you learn ? Cause obviously mma is mixed but I like to train with certain styles directly and incorporate then later with other things I've learned. If you're taking a generalized mma class with no specific style then you're not learning every aspect and techniques of the style itself.
      So you're telling me that the media staff went to every fighter in the organization and asked each of them if they thought that Jon Jones could take cormier down specifically. I think not. Why would he not ? Taking down someone that is gassed isn't unpredictable is it ? Did you think cormier had better stamina than Jones ? And if we are talking about the defensive side then how about this. Cormier knew he could only get Jones down with a double leg. Cause no one(besides Gus) can take Jones down with a single leg attempt especially with size advantage. Jones stance and his arsenal of weapons make it very hard to take him down which is why cormier couldn't do it. Why do you think there were so little attempts made by cormier in the first couple rounds. And are you talking about his wrestling record or mma ? Cause dcs mma resume isn't the best if you ask me.

    • @josephpark3377
      @josephpark3377 Před 9 lety

      Outclassed dumbfuck. Just like how I am outclassing you right now. 7 years of judo, 10 years of boxing, 2nd degree in taekwondo so let's say 2 years of that if you're good. 8 years of wrestling so I'm guessing that's your high school and college and I'm pretty sure you mixed in judo with your wrestling cause that was the perfect learning combination. So either your hella fucking old, you barely had a job, have too much time in your hands, or your making this shit up. I go with the last, but I could be wrong. So since you trained so much, are you fighting professionally right now ? If not then what a waste. Yes. I saw Jones going for a takedown and getting it ? How ? First. Jones openly admitted that was his game plan, to defeat cormier at his own game. Second, I knew he was going to be doing it in the championship rounds cause that's when cormier would be gassed and we all saw that coming. It really doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Yeah I've been smoking that catnip called alaskan thunderfucks. I'm also plowing some coke all over your mothers ass and your girlfriend is sucking my dick all at the same time. So what Im Asian. Funny how you have something against Asians when you've been learning martial arts from them this whole entire time. Oh since you've been competing for so long. How about sharing some of your vids. If you don't want to then its okay but you know that means youre a fake ass liar right?

    I feel for Daniel and I was rooting for him too. The guy has never been a actual champion. He was the Strikeforce Grand Prix Champion but not the actual Heavyweight Champion cause the belt was vacated. He is still one of the best in the division and this win just shows how good Jones is and not how bad Cormier is. Don't like Jones but with this, Jon Jones is the greatest fighter to ever walk inside the octagon.

    • @MarcusLong
      @MarcusLong Před 9 lety +7

      I completely disagree with you that Jones is the greatest fighter that ever stepped in octagon. Jones has great ability and talent but to be the greatest imo you have to be broken down and come back you have to know all areas of success and know that not even defeat can stop you. Jones doesn't know that the only thing he knows is success and when he should have been taught that lesson in the Alexander Gustavsson fight he was given the win. One of the greatest yes the greatest no but he is still young his story has not yet been told.

    • @MarcusLong
      @MarcusLong Před 9 lety +1

      ***** Jones has already lost (BS loss) so that is not going to happen second mma is not boxing styles change just because you clear out the old school does not mean you are the greatest. There is a new school of LHW clear them out next then I'll tip my hat. Last Jones does not have to lose a fight to be pushed to the limit but when he does he should be able to prove that he can come back no matter what.

    • @RascalHoveround
      @RascalHoveround Před 9 lety +1

      The real question is, what's next for Jones? The two guys that pose interesting fights, Johnson and Gustafson are about to fight each other. The winner will probably get the next shot. Those two guys are about all that's left in lhw division for Jones to face. I'd like to see both of those fights but really that's all that's left. Does Jones go to heavyweight and if he does does he stand a chance? His biggest weakness is he lacks punching power. Will a move up help increase that? You need that one hitter quitter status at heavyweight IMO.

    • @MarcusLong
      @MarcusLong Před 9 lety

      ***** I am not trying or saying you don't know what your talking about so don't take offense man. All I am saying is that I a fighter is as great as his odds and his ability to overcome come them. What we have seen is that Jones is a new breed and he can beat the best of the old school but i am not sure what a fight with guys like Alex or Anthony or even Phil possess. He don't have to lose to make him the greatest he just has to be pushed to the point of losing or loss and whether he can comeback victorious will prove him as the GREATEST IMO.

    • @squadron2163
      @squadron2163 Před 9 lety

      This is what I typed in another video. You might not name him the greatest of all time just yet but by the end of 2015 it will solidify it. It's just after last night it solidified it in my eyes and this is why.
      Yeah fights like this I have to rewatch when the hype wears down the next day cause I gave Cormier rounds 2 and 3 last night but watching it again I agree with the judges, Jones won 1,3,4,5 and Cormier rounds 2. Man I was really pulling for DC in this fight but although it wasn't the slugfest brawl people wanted a bad blood fight to be, I'm not a fan of Jon Jones but that was an amazing performance. It was how Jon Jones beat Daniel Cormier that amazed me and it actually spoke louder to me than a knockout in the first round. Jones outworked, out grit and outwrestled Olympian Daniel Cormier in a way I never thought Jones could do. The fact that Jones was able to take Cormier down 3 times but even bigger, how he was able to defend 8 of Daniels takedown attempts spoke volume. He beat Daniel Cormier at his strength like he did so many others and this fight doesn't discredit DC. He is one hell of a competitor and at the very top of the division and this win doesn't say DC sucks for people that are jumping off his bandwagon. This win just shows just how great Jones is and I don't even like the guy but I have to respect what he has done. Others might not say it just yet but I've said for weeks now and I will say it now. After this fight, Jon Jones is the greatest fighter to ever walk inside the octagon. He is only 27 years old and since 2011 has been through a murderers row of fighters starting with undefeated 12-0 NCAA division I all american Ryan Bader, than 5 former UFC champions, than the guy that was seconds away from defeating the GOAT Anderson Silva in a fight where if Chael survived just 30 more seconds he would have became the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion due to Jones injured toe, than a fighter that I honestly believe Jones overlooked severely but went through a war and showed he can overcome and win, than to defeat a fighter that was on a 20 fight win streak since 2006 who had it not been for his visa issues would of been the champion Jones would of thought instead of Shogun, and last the 2 time olympian Strikeforce Grand Prix champion. With everything I'm saying about Jones, I still don't like him although I found a new respect for him during the post fight conference, but regardless of how I feel about him, I have to believe he is the greatest fighter to ever walk in the cage.

I don’t want to offend the pot smokers out there, but I was kind of just a snitch. I was just down for people doing the right thing. My parents kind of raised me to be a good guy. I’ve always been down for the good side, I guess.” - Jon Jones

      Michael Harness /Facepalm, who told you coke is allowed rofl??? Coke is NOT ALLOWED !!!He didnt get strippd because the drug was found on Dec 4th and so its considered out of comp as the effects of coke only last a day or two, unlike steroids., and thus this not a bannable offense. Had they found steroid in him he would have been banned at that time, that is true.
      Had they found the coke in him on the drug test they do the day after the fight he would have been stripped and banned. This is how this works. Im just impressed that Jones can be so good while being a street drug abuser !Dec 4th would have meant he was in camp for the big fight, so he cant say it was offseason fun(but still considered out of comp by commission), he clearly was addicted. I think this also explains his massive personality shift. He has now gone rehab and promised to do better this year with training and drugs , i wish him the best. coincidentally im gonna give up coke(crack) too.If he can do it , i can too!

    I don't see what Jones did wrong at all honestly.. was it disrespectful? Yeah, I guess, but if you truly dislike a person why would you show respect towards him? What Jones did at the end of the fight to DC is not really surprising. Plus it's not like he did it after the bell rung. It was still during the fight, DC got caught slipping. It's his own fault.
    Was is hard to watch DC broken like he was? Yes, I felt bad for the guy, but Jon Jones is absolutely right. If it was the other way around DC would've been talking mad shit at Jones and rubbing it in probably the whole press conference.

    @markwhite7250 Před 9 lety +3

    After all the hype, I'm glad it was a good fight; however this is the first time I felt myself starting to cry watching a UFC post-fight because of DC. I really felt for him and thought he was a great sportsman for being honest, showing respect and being complimentary of Jones skills, but I was disappointed in Jones attitude towards him at the end of the conference. On the other hand Jones comments are wise, philosophical, and confident, and it's frightening to realize his potential to get better. I am a fan of both fighters and do without doubt know the Jones is the best on the planet right now and will probably go down as the best of all time.
    People kill me saying that Gus beat Jones... obviously Jones haters because Gus fought him like no one else, but ran out of steam at the end and started to run and almost got knocked out.
    Anderson Silva is the greatest of all time because of the longevity of his run and the unique and entertaining way he dispatched opponents. John Jones is the greatest right now because of his record, heart, and level of opposition he's faced.

    Some bewildered kids, think that just because Jones was able to beat DC in a stunning fashion, that he will be able to beat Cain Valesquez, I would urge you to remove Jon's Semen off your eyes and start perceiving things differently. Cain Valesquez is a Cardio Monster, He is a better striker than Cormier. We saw how Cormier struggled with his conditioning in the last 2 rounds. He was exhausted and flustered. You won't have that kind of dilemma with Valesquez. He will put immense volume on Jones and will grind him near the cage. Jones is the best pound for pound fighter in the UFC, but lets not jump into conclusions. You can accredit Jones all you want, but don't lambaste and degrade Valesquez, becasue he is still the best fighter in UFC. The abundant strikes that he lands in every bout, in addition to his unprecedented conditioning and cardio, would make him the most menacing fighter on planet earth. Not to mention his sumptuous wrestling. Its tough to prepare for a guy like that. The same could be said about Jones. Jones is unpredictable with his unlimited set of skills and wiles in his arsenal. It would make up for the best fight in UFC'S history.

He clearly does have the work ethic and maturity it takes to be a champion. Well JBJ did again, great fight but DC I applaud you on being a class act that takes guts especially after the trash talking that went on, that showed what type of man u are you'll be back without a question, JBJ is the best out there period!!!!!

      hard now,he'll need 2-3 fights to get the shot again and those would be 2-3 hard fights.one has to go back and get that same drive back for those other opponents,I don't think he can,Guss can but I don't think DC can.

      true, it will take him probably a year or two to get back. i believe in him. yeah i think guss is the one that can beat jones. and johnson looks just as dangerous too.

      Johnson is easy solvable riddle for Jones,would most prob gas out and JJ would finish him in later rounds.as it stands only Alex can defeat JJ again.

    Yes Jon gets the win but it wasn't in spectacular fashion like most claimed JJ would do. It was a good match that went the distance. Hats off to JJ for the win but at the end was a very douche bag move by JJ. The bell wasn't over and he put his hands up like it rang. DC out of respect lets go of his leg and JJ turns and punches DC. I mean WTF dude? If you wanna put your hands up and celebrate early, do it! DC let go of your leg but don't turn around and punch him cause you realize the bell didn't completely rang. I take nothing from JJ as a fighter but his character is trash. No class and he knows it. Exactly the type of fighter that will land hard when he falls. In ordered to be remembered as a great fighter, its not just how you perform in the ring but also how you display your character.

      @Thee Engineer. I wonder if all those ALI fans NOW felt the same way back when ALI was fighting? I'm sure ppl said much worse things about him. But now that time has passed and ppl stop judging him based on their personal feelings Ali is considered " THE GREATEST" Just like he said back then and everyone was saying he's so arrogant and "That BOY" needs 2 have his mouth shut. Now what does jones do (outside of beat ur fav fighter) that causes u 2 dislike him in the ring? How u feel about him outside of the ring matters NONE. But from what i've see his whole career is that inside the ring he does exactly what u want a champ 2 do and be. Young talented and driven. And with youth u tend 2 make mistakes. Remember jones is only what 25-26? Didn't we all make mistakes at that age? When did we become PERFECT and stopped smelling our OWN ish? And i can ASSURE u when its all said and done and we go over his career HE WILL BE REMEMBERED and mentioned with the Greats past present and future. Jon Jones is THE REAL DEAL. Give that man his respect in the RING.

      MrAddidas2 Sorry bud. As a fighter sure he gets a thumbs up for that but no way in hell am I vouching for him as the greatest. NO WAY. Unless he cleans up his acts he's yet to be held in my eyes as the greatest. My requirement as a great fighter is my own personal standard. Its just my opinion. To me a great fighter never fakes his personality to win over the heart of the fans and then act like a douche when he thinks he's off camera. If you wanna be the greatest then please act accordingly. This is just my opinion but Fedor stands for what it means to be a great fighter. Doesn't talk smack about people and takes care of his business in the cage. Regardless of whether his record beats Jones is irrelevant. Fedor is in my eyes one of the greatest.

      "Hands down, Man Down". Fight until the bell rings or the ref stops it. DC was defeated before the fight was officially over.

    This is what this sport is about. Skill, battle, heart, grind, and emotion. I leave this fight with more respect for both men. Very hard to see DC so upset. He's just a good, honest guy and doesn't mix his words. Says where he's at for real. I say DC takes loser of Rumble and Gus?
