    • @Freya1412
      @Freya1412 Před rokem +8

      Objectively it's not a good episode when it comes to storytelling. The amount of potholes this created is insane. Was more of a cop out because D&D wanted to exit the franchise as soon as possible. They did all this against the advice of HBO which wanted at least 2 more seasons and even GRRM was thrown through a loop they were doing this battle at this point in the story.
      It also doesn't look good because the lighting choice was let's not use lights at all and let viewers guess who's screaming in the dark. Yeah if all they aimed to do was film a long battle they achieved it. It doesn't make it good though. You are entitled to love this episode but to call book reader's snobs because we are critical for valid reasons like lighting, rushing the plot and potholes, is just you being arrogant for the sake of it. Book reader's have invested more years into this franchise than casual viewers. Our opinions do count for something. Like Henry Cavil said, fans are passionate and have a right to be passionate about what the love and invest time in.

    Valerian boulders is new though haha

    Tyrion and Sansa were in the crypt when the night king raised his hands and the dead got up. That included the dead in the crypt (cemetery). Thats how the dead got in the crypt.

    I could be wrong but, for those of us that had to wait literally YEARS for this war, it was perfect. The dialog that you guys wanted in the episode was done mostly in the previous one. Everyone making peace with what’s to come. This episode was strictly about that fight and how chaotic all of it is when you’re in the thick of it. No time for dialog unless it’s battle commands. And as far as Bran, he is the all seeing, but he can’t just tell people what’s to come. He has to allow it to play out. Similar to Dr. Strange in Avengers Infinity War if you’ve seen that one. You can’t risk altering the course.

    the entire series was setting up Jon vs Night King. And having Arya kill him was a shocker, but at the same time, I could see George R. R. Martin being cool with this as it doesn't spoil his books and gives a loved character some big moments.
    In my lowly opinion, if they still wanted Arya to be the one to kill the Night King, they should have at least let Jon finish off Viserion in like a last ditch effort. Let him just charge and kill him and maybe have Dany on her dragon killing the other white walkers or at least some of them.
    Maybe have Jon finish off Viserion and that would be a big blow to the Night King and maybe draw his attention off Bran for just long enough for Arya to strike? I don't know lol. The battle was such a huge build up and it was a bit of a weird battle.

    8 seasons building up to the battle, 1 episode of very hard to see fighting. Its disappointing. The writers/producers found out they were approved for 3 spinoff shows so they hastily put an end to this one. That's why most are disappointed in the final season. They should have properly finished this one first imo. So many things from now to the last episode will make you shake your head. I hope you still enjoy it anyway.
