- The Lost Episode.
In 2007 four Great Depression Cooking episodes were filmed.
Tapes from the fourth episode, “Pasta Aglio e Olio (Garlic Pasta),” went missing and the episode never aired.
In 2009, with the help of Clara and her granddaughter Abby, we attempted to recreate the missing footage.
Now that episode will finally appear on CZcams for you to enjoy.
Please, never take down these videos. I came across when I had depression and searched for “food for depression” and found her. I watched several videos that day and it made me feel better. It was not what I was looking for it, but what I needed.
when the world needed her most she reappeared 🤍 God *rest her sweet soul
This is one of the oldest dishes in Italy! Pasta, oil, garlic, lemon, parsley, and these days, red pepper flakes! My Nonna would be proud

When I see Clara, I see my Wife’s beloved Grandmother, Catalina, who passed away in her 90’s two years ago. Thank you for sharing your grandmother with us.
I like how she's guiding her granddaughter. She's very sweet to her and treats her with respect
This made me cry. I miss Clara, and I never even knew her.
When I’m having a rough day, or just need a “pick me up”, i look up Clara. I love hearing her story and how she made it through and listening to her laugh, watching her cook. It’s those moments that make me happy. Thank you for sharing her story with all of us. ❤️
All the rest of us suckers bought expensive pots with handles. Clara’s keeping that money for herself and using pliers that work just as well
Our elders are our treasures. This woman reminds of my grandmother that passed away 6 years ago at the age of 90. She was amazing cook and the whole family would ask her to show them how to cook her amazing dishes she made for her kids back in the 40s - 60s. Treasure your parents and grandparents and absorb all their knowledge and wisdom. When they are gone you will sorely miss them.

2007: Look at this sweet old woman cooking poor people food from the past
I’m in tears 😢 I feel as if Clara was talking to us through the phone from heaven 😭
Had to smile with the pasta and the bread, my gran also had bread with every meal, I asked her why and she said that you allways clean your plate with a piece of bread, nothing wasted . Sad as it was those people had a lot of wisdom to share, hugs and blessings.
True “zero wasters” were those that survived the depression. Love her
Thank you to everyone who's involved with keeping this channel going. Thank you. Thank you.
Crying my eyes out now,; I loved the way Clara was talking on the phone with her beautiful granddaughter... Priceless!
Her voice is so comforting. I miss my grandma :(
We are in the great quarantine depression right now. Clara went through those days and now it's our turn. God bless Clara and family for these amazing depression recipes!
I’m watching Clara two days after the passing of my own Grandma and she reminds me so much of her, it’s a tremendous comfort. My grandma was a true Londoner and shaped by the war rather than the depression but they’re both so similar with their gentle sense of humour, careful preparation, and the appreciation of all the small things in life that I think only living through such difficult times can give you. If they happen to meet ‘up there’ I think they’d enjoy a good laugh over some good food!
