Now Vs Now consists of Jason Lindner (keys), Panagiotis Andreou (bass) & Mark Guiliana (drums). www.nowvsnow.com www.jasonlindner.net / nowvsnow / nowvsnow
+Kevin Smith Actually, his solo helped me break it down! He starts with the syllables "Ta ka di mi/ ta ki ta/ ta ka di mi." Since the song is in 11/8, it helps to break it down into groups of 4/3/4. But that's as much help as you get! Haha, he's super fluid in that meter, so he does some poly and cross-rhythmic stuff. It's like listening to a drummer. He's incredible.
But you could learn a ton from transcribing any of these dudes. They are all fantastic. I saw Mark and Jason in south Florida this past year for Mark's "Beat Music" and they killed it.
+Brandon Miller you have just figured out the south indian system of rhythms called kannokol which panageotis uses. breaking down complex rthyms into shorter syllables. u shud go learn that system and you will find what he does incredibly intuitive.
+Abhishek Anupam yup, every musician, who knows, how to properly use and apply konnokol gets bumped up in his rhythm game milions of levels up.. others to check - tigran hamasyan, mclaughlin..
I saw you guys in Burlington, Iowa of all places. I'm still amazed, and humbled, that you guys made a stop in a small Midwest town between hitting the coasts to bring some music to a place that rarely sees musicians of your caliber. Still sounding great! Loving the Joe Zawinul influence on the keys! And Mark is always the man.
Super ! ça sonne terrible ! Le solo voix /basse de Panagiotis formidable , solo de batterie de Mark également et Jason maîtrise super les synthés en virtuose ! EXCEPTIONNEL !
4:58 he plays the G on 1 not the 11th beat of the previous bar. and then for the rest of the bar in the 8 9 10 11 counts, he speeds up to make up for it. Extremely creative.
j adore mark guiliana il reinvente la batterie un enorme emancipateur a la manière de charlie christian de scott la faro ou le dodecaphanien arnold. iI est fou ce mark !!!
Anyone know what kind of synth Jason is playing (the one on top of the rhodes). Never seen one of those before, looks like it has a kaoss pad built into it or something. Some otherworldly tunes.
my freaking god this so epic,it heals me from cancer
Panagiotis' solo on this tune is beyond words. I've been sitting here transcribing for the past few days. Learned a lot about music very quickly.
+Brandon Miller mad respect dude I don't even know where I would start breaking it down

Congrats, Jason Lindner and Panagiotis Andreou for your summer tour in Agrigento. Here's my video "interview" to Lindner on You Tube.
Tρομακτικά καλός! 1000 Bravo!
Strafighissimi !!!
This friggin guy, playing Star Wars all out of nowhere.
HOly $h!t!!! I'm hooked. I hope to see you guys play San Francisco or Oakland (where the real musicians live ;-)) sometime.

it's an indian music counting system called Tala. theres some good info about it online. cool stuff!
That must be me sitting in the front row
that's cool....long life to electronic keys with Fender Rhodes on the top...
Where did this tak dem etc vocal originate from? I heard a music teacher in traditional Indian music do this like 16 years ago.
this is insane on so many levels, jesus wtf...
The bass vocalization was called konkol. A rhythmic method used by many musicians, including John McLaughlin with mahavishnu orchestra
Also called Solkattu, an Indidan counting system used mainly for Tabla drumming. Takidimi is sixteenth notes, Ta Ki Da is triplets etc....
oscwildle1 one little thing it's konokol for whoever want to search
tabla is north indian .. this is more South Indian reportoire called konokkol.
can I download an mp3 of this somewhere?? Daymn
fuck ya!!! thanks
Why is nobody talking about the drum solo???
Balkan soul!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what snare guiliana use in this video??

Minimoog voyager
grande panagiotis
🧘🏻♂️
Does Panagiotis Andreou play tabla?!
someone need to call the men in black on the bassist
strictly out of lingiustic curiosity.. what does this metaphor mean?
akypar That he is an alien. Its a reference to the movie
oh I see! haha, thanks
I think they need to be called because of the whole band maaan...
startariot56 haha agreed
what is that vocal technique the bassist is
doing called?
Sorry for being seven years late but Konnakol + improv (gibberish)
takatak ?
What synth is he using?
Moog Voyager
R
Righe up to the end
Nothing like a Real Rhodes
takadimi takatakadimi :p
is this in 11/8 ?
yep
Thank You! Wouldn't have gotten that by myself.
ok lets say the bass guy is so talented that his performance at the middle looks like a total wtf. Nice show anyway
Panagiotis' konnakol solo was undoubtedly really cool but I feel like it was out of place on this song.
Except for the buildup that was pretty cool
taka dim tak...? ...dude no. why?
my favorite part was when the bassist went ninerninerninerninerninerninerninerninerninerninerninerninerniner 8:29
Before looking at the band members i thought the bassist was from Israel..
Very nice music!!!!!
+Deusex63 the bassist is from greece
caint stand the vocals!
4:46-8:50 was the most pointless and disturbing that could make temporal sense. Otherwise, what an astonishing performance!!
Amazing!!!
