    My personal mo as an old basher is to always upgrade durability but never make the car faster. Get a car that's fast enough in stock form, beef up the durability and then you get to have fun without worrying about ending your session unexpectedly

  • @BigWillieFPV
    @BigWillieFPV Před 6 měsíci

    You can certainly put the stock controller into training mode and chose your max throttle from 0-100 for anyone to try, did you have TSM and do you miss it? Thanks for sharing your vid 👍🏻😊

    @TheKjelmo Před 2 lety +4

    Have also gone through a series of "upgrades" for the X-Maxx this year, including 1717-1260kv and 1650kv, CC 800kv, HW 1100kv, all with MMX8s. Badlands and Trenchers, as well. With bigger motors and tires it was always a constant battle to not break the drivetrain, always having to land right, etc. Was alot of fun with all that power, but the durability of the rear drivetrain in particular was so bad. So I've also concluded that the best upgrade is the 1717-1650 combo with stock tires, or maybe with the new ProLine's that are coming out now. I use Robinson pinion and Hot Racing spur gear, never broken any.

    @tomski303 Před 2 lety +1

    Wow, I've watched all you Xmaxx videos in regards to the upgrades you have done and learnt alot but this is the exact video I needed.
    I originally was going to run just the MMX8S with the stock motor as I was trying to keep the weight down as much as possible. I could only get the ESC in a combo so ended up with the 1717 1650KV motor as well.
    I just installed it with an M2C mount but never really got to test it as I blew a tire right away. I was worried that the motor might be too small for the XMAXX and might run hot.
    So roll around to this week I just bit the bullet on an XLX2 combo with the 1100KV motor.
    My intent was to put the 1100KV in the XMAXX and keep the MMX8S in it and move the 1717 1650KV over to my infraction along with the XLX2,
    Once i actually got my hands on the 1100KV I instantly had my doubts cause that thing weighs an absolute ton.
    I value your opinion so should I stick with that idea or keep the 1717 in the XMAXX and run the XLX2 with the 1100KV in my infraction instead?

      @tomski303 Před 2 lety

    All this money you spend on the X-Max and you still have to upgrade differential gears and everything else that's crazy I was about to order me one but after hearing this what's the point of spending all that money and have to go buy other parts I understand everything needs to be upgraded sometimes but you should be able to play with this thing for a while before it breaks and it seems like everything breaks after the first couple of bashes not worth it if you ask me

I've beefed up the front and rear diffs with aluminum Traxxas diff cases and aluminum diff covers. 25/35 gearing Mod 1.5
