I think Madison Keys needs a new coach. She has all the tools to win. She just doesn't win enough deep into tournaments. A different coach might help her focus. She seems to lose focus (or something) during her big matches beyond the first round or two. Madison is very likable and very talented. She's definitely got the on court game to win consistently. She just needs someone to help her find what's she's currently missing. It would do women's tennis well to see her deep into more tournaments and to win a few. Good luck Madison. You deserve to win and you will.

I’m a fan of Maddie but I don’t think it’s coach related. She’s been through so many coaches over her career. She performs usually well in slams/big tournaments but a lot of her problems are due to effort. She just gives up in a lot of matches and ball bashes. It’s like she decides today isn’t her day and just whacks the ball regardless of the score line. She has a great game so all her problems are mental. It’s a shame.

When Emma Raducanu answered the reporter's question about pressure to win slams, Emma Raducanu famously remarked, "what about the players that haven't won a slam yet?" That's is so true! It's not just diverting the pressure, but it's remarkably true on many players that seem to have the ability to win a slam but just cannot get over that hurdle. Madison Keys, Belinda Bencic, Caroline Garcia, Alize Cornet, etc. After seeing many of Keys' matches, her Achilles' heel is unforced errors; especially, untimely unforced errors. When Madison Keys is more consistent, however, Keys seem to lose some of her aggression or assertive shots. Keys' problem is to balance her unforced errors and her aggressive game. What Keys might benefit from is to work on her technique. Keys has the ability to hit with power, but she hasn't successfully been able to string 7 match victories with power, control, and consistency. The coach can tell her that and I'm sure Keys is well aware, but nothing is going to happen until Keys works on her technique or perhaps it's stamina? If it's stamina, then Keys needs to taper her energy to make sure she has enough gas left in the tank to finish the match. Keys tends to start strong against her fellow big hitters but fizzles out in the end.

This was disappointing. 2-2 in the third set, Keys up 40-0 and had an easy volley that she missed. She kept fighting but her play went down a bit while Rybakina’s went up; when she’s on her flat groundstrokes are tough to match.

Madison is so hard to root for. She gets hot and cold rather quickly and unexpectedly. She was beating almost everyone not too long ago, including the world #1. I didn't expect Keys to be this bad. After winning the 1st set she stopped playing. And that's what Rybakina was waiting for. In the 1st set it seemed that Keys will easily win this match, but in the end she choked and lost to an opponent which she should defeat easily. Madison Keys should learn from her mistakes. I hope that in the next tournament she'll start taking her opponents more seriously. Rybakina meanwhile was great. She excellently used her chances and Key's incossistent and weak play. She wasn't afraid to capitalize on Key's incossistencies. Elena Rybakina deserves this win. She simply was better than Keys. Keys played bad since the middle of the second set.

I would say for all of the talent Madison has - she is one of the least intelligent tennis players in the top,30. At this point in her career - independent of her constantly getting nervous and choking in the biggest matches - no coach can get her a slam. There are both physical aspects and strategies that many 20 year old players have already learned that no coach has been able to help her with.

Madison is too inconsistent. On any given day, she could beat anyone and win a big title like Cincinnati, but she could also lose in the first round. A new coach could definitely help her with this part of her game.
