    Dude you absolutely rock!
    I’ve had my Volvo for months and just watched this video and now know that it’s not a problem with my car. I laughed so hard when I saw how easy this was. Thank you!!!

    Damn, do I feel stupid. Was having the bright lights (wont stay on) issue. Already purchased one (for $110) at the dealer, and replaced it and threw the old one away.Then having the problem again (and I'm pissed). This (dial) setting in the dash may have been the issue all along. Thank you for bringing this issue up here on CZcams.

    Small update: the indicator light still doesn't work, yet the bulb is not burnt. It was working all times before I did turn the knob as in the video, and haven't worked since this video at all. I don't think the DIM has an issue, I rather think it's a software bug. Something went glitchy the moment the high beams stayed on.

    Again, this is how the high beams operate normally. The video presents a normal situation, it's just that the way Volvo designed this it's a bit confusing for some reason.

    I think you'll find that this is automatic. Volvo design is that it switches from high beam to low beam when required. I could be wrong but I have just bought an S60 which does the same and I was told by the dealer who sold it that it is automatic. Switch the switch to the normal headlight is now manual.

    Wish I would have known this before I wigged out and pulled the stick back so far that I snapped the switch in half. Oh well, live and learn...$100 mistake.

    on my V70 D5 the high beam does not stay on at all no matter which head light switch position you choose. I don't have daytime running light on my version but it still acts like one and the low beam runs all the time. Why is that ?

    • @duplofarm2365
      @duplofarm2365 Před 3 lety

      Even the LED lights are off on the switch. I tested the LEDs in the switch for continuity, they are ok and the 3 blue fuses are all continuity ok.

      @Peppermint1  Před 3 lety

      I am not aware if there is a different functioning mode, but I would make sure the headlight switch assembly works properly. These are known to fail sometimes. Not difficult to replace with a used one from breakers czcams.com/video/wKD-2aSxbog/video.html

    No this is not the solution.... I have same problem with my V50 ..., It used to say earlier, after I had my Xenon light turned pink.. liver doesn't say... You don't turn the knob while driving in night

    • @Peppermint1

      On early 2001-2003, the DIM can develop internal faults and that can cause the high beams not to lock on

  • @rangerover06sc

    • @Peppermint1
      @Peppermint1  Před 4 lety +1

      @@hameedalqashwi4884 No, it's a problem with some electronic component on the DIM unit. May try to remove the DIM and bring it to a TV repair place. If you remove the unit, have the car battery disconnected.
