    This girl is trying, I believe that, I've always believed that. Most people need to understand that Hollywood is an oppressive platform and that Lindsay is the outcome of corporate marketing gone terribly awry. Simply put, the glamour and glitz overwhelmed her. My advice: get away from Hollywood for awhile. Travel the world, write a memoir, get away and meet new people.

      It broke my heart. All these years she's been the punch-line of the jokes and people make fun of her all the time and you can see here when Oprah asks if she's stayed sober, she kind of defensively says she has and then she's so caught off guard that someone actually wants to celebrate that with her. It's new for her to have someone say congratulations and good job when asked about her sobriety and that's so sad.

    People who are saying " oh lindsay is such a rude diva "
    I'm not being funny, but she's trying to break free of an addiction, film a documentary about her life ( which she said she finds weird ) and also has the media waiting to pick at her. She isn't going to be all happy. This is obviously the hardest point in Lindsay's life. So I think you should think about things a little more before you go ahead and call her thinks like " stuck up " or whatever.

    • @hearmymotoredheart
      @hearmymotoredheart Před 10 lety +22

      ***** Unless you are her personal physician, you know nothing about her physical or mental state besides gossip in the media. It's hard enough trying to keep your chin up when the world is waiting and even hoping for you to fail. It reminds me of what a correctional officer once said: "We'll help them to get rehabilitated - we just don't know HOW rehabilitated we want them to be." We're such a poisonous society that we'd rather keep people in the boxes we built for them than see them at the best they could be. WE are the sick ones.

    • @hearmymotoredheart
      @hearmymotoredheart Před 10 lety +7

      ***** I work in the mental health/AOD sector. Part of recovery and therapy is recognising thoughts and allowing them to come and go, or else fighting them off starts the struggle and the chain reaction that ends in relapse. I definitely recommend reading Dr. Russ Harris' work in Acceptance Commitment Therapy...a lot of it seems like common sense but someone with an addiction or dual diagnosis can benefit from going back to basics.

    • @findfin
      @findfin Před 10 lety +5

      ***** There could be many reasons why people who are addicts fail to ever become sober for the rest of their lives. One main reason would be the emotional support they obviously need to keep them from going back. Many addicts lose their friends and family in this process, and thus losing their support system. Just put yourself in their shoes for a second, if you were an addict trying to be sober but you have no one else beside you to help you along, how long do you think you can go without falling back on the wagon again? I'm not saying that every addict out there wants to be sober, but hey, where's the harm in giving people a chance and being supportive?

    • @hearmymotoredheart
      @hearmymotoredheart Před 10 lety +12

      ***** It's easy to say that when you aren't in the grips of addiction, though. Addiction means no longer being in control or having good senses - you're basically a slave to it. Once you're in, it's like drowning. Very slowly and very obviously. Only people expect you to pull yourself out because you were the one who got in there in the first place.

    Being one of the people who have made fun of her and judged her in the past now I'm truly ashamed of how I behaved, specially because I'm all for the no bullying rule and for some stupid reason I was one of the people doing the bullying although not directly, it was still cyber bullying her and that's not okay.
    This interview and seeing how it actually all affected her and how she is being strong even though it's hard as hell only made me realize what a fool I was and made me gain that much more respect for her.
    I hope that everything works out for the best for her.

      Liliana Capucho k, cuz i see this trend, how people hated on britney, amanda, lindsey, and later discovered they were struggling when they burnt. yh, youre right, it doesnt excuse his actions, but he is very similar to lindsey, there isnt anyone to tell him what to do, and he is just blowing money away. he is behaving like a typical teenager from a broken home, except he is very famous, and there is too much money, no boundaries, and nobody around him who cared enough to help. society keeps bashing these people until they truly burn. this is what we call entertainment- its sick. but congrats on learning from your mistake. thank you

    • @710Lih
      @710Lih Před 9 lety +1

      Mimi Brown Except he is actually not a teenager anymore. He is an adult. And he started doing this stuff pretty early on in his career while all of these girls did it when the pressure of YEARS and YEARS of their career was too much. They were at a breaking point while Justin got too much fame too fast and too much money and all of that went up to his head. Obviously, I don't know that for sure but from the things we see he has done that is the most likely. Specially his behavior towards other people. But again. I avoid talking about him because I never cared much about his music so I'm not gonna focus on someone solely for his behavior. What he does is his business and I'm not gonna say "Poor Justin" when that's far from what I think. People make mistakes and I will never be the one to say that the mistakes are understandable because that only makes the change never come because people start thinking it's okay. I will be here to congratulate him on his change though, if the day ever comes. I don't bring people down but it's against my believes to chear on acts I disagree with only because the person may be going through a rough time.
      So, yeah, long story short. I believe their cases are extremely different seeing one had a choice and the other reached their breaking point but this is one of the rare times I will speak of it. Bad opinions are meant to be kept inside themind where they can't affect anyone.

    • @mimibrown4269
      @mimibrown4269 Před 9 lety

      yh, he is an adult, but not mentally one, his development was arrested because he couldnt grow up normally, thats what happens to most child stars. yh, he got everything too soon but he got caught up in it only after the excessive criticism. if youve been following justin long enough, you'll know he had been cyberbullied daily cuz of his voice since he was 15( look at baby video comments), his privacy was stripped away too early,he had been overly scrutinized for every little thing. i think it got to him cuz he wanted to quit in 2010, but he was convinced otherwise. you dont need to cheer on acts. Most of his actions are inexcusable but its understandable. Justin was a singer which means he was touring, recording music, doing interviews, rehearsing day after day for full 4 years. most of his youth was spent in a tour bus plus he had other troubles- pressure to transition to a successful adult entertainer,which he didnt achieve yet, paparazzi troubles, media making stuff up about him, relationship troubles, and someone close to him died- so yh if this had happpened to me, i would have snapped too.No child star really has a choice especially ones from broken homes which is a similarity between most of them. media exploits all of them until they reach their breaking point, and then they condemn them. notice how they make their personal lives more important than the music. so yh, most of them are the same. the only one i know that did well is Selena Gomez. Again thank you for not seeking happiness in their demise. Justin is actually changing whether its a pr stunt or its real, i dont know.

    • @710Lih
      @710Lih Před 9 lety +1

      Mimi Brown Honestly I do not follow him because I never really liked his music so I unlike many other people do not go after someone/something I don't like only to hate on them/it because that's just idiotic and loss of time. From what Iknow he broke like 2 years after he became famous so as I said,I don't like to put him in the same category as Britney/Amanda/Lindsey because to me they are completely different specially with the media being much harder on women than they are on men but that's not even something I'm willing to discuss. But yeah, I guess we all have points of views. I will say y opinion on Justin is not good but that's my opinion and I keep it to myself. Who knows? He may actually surprise me. I don't know the guy and I will not make him the devil nor will I make him an angel. I have heard celebrities who have met him saying shitty stuff he has done so not all is made up by he media. So yeah. There's no point to this discussion.
      Just message to all: It's okay to have an opinion just keep it to yourself if it may harm someone.

    I have only respect and admiration for people who are fighting addiction (among other things that are weighing them down in their personal life). Just because you want to win your addiction doesn't mean it's an easy thing to say you don't want to be dependent on it. When people are addicted to something you are so used to that comfort even though it's bad but to see yourself free and happy is a scary thing than you can imagine because you never seen yourself like that before. You may not like her or care but it takes a lot of guts to talk openly about your struggles much less have the world scrutinize you in every way. God bless her and I hope she will overcome her demons.

      @Rikorage Před 10 lety

      greymushroom1 I'm sorry, but I find bullshit in this. Both sides of this, she had money, succumbed to pressure, made a mistake, such and such... Oprah had it WAY worse, yet she's the one giving sage advice, never took up drugs, learned from the people around her that that's not what she wanted...
      So, I can feel bad that a 19-year-old girl with a slightly shitty home life threw away all the opportunity in the world for drugs and a good time, but there are a lot of people who don't cop-out and gain mass-applause for NOT doing that...
      Flip side, addiction can be hereditary, and many people have some form of addiction, like porn, video-games, even OCD. Just that, we don't applaud someone for kicking porn, or video-games, or someone who stops worrying about what side of a medicine cabinet they put their toothbrush on.
      It's a seriously stupid double-standard, and she should have been smart enough to not do it in the first place. I've had plenty of opportunity to throw away my health and any future prospects of having a decent life, but I kept away from permanently damaging substances and any other stuff on the DL, because I have more respect for myself and my talent, even with absolutely no real motivation from my parents (crazy-ass single mom, dad essentially out of the picture). Money and pressure like that is no excuse, not compared to what even Oprah herself had to go through.

    • @Rikorage
      @Rikorage Před 10 lety +2

      Late reply, had stuff to do. I know what addiction can do, I've lived with a parent who's had drugs her entire life, and see the loss of potential, and I understand that a bunch of negative life experiences can cause a person to give in to their addictions, but no amount of bad experiences should make someone turn to such self-destructive tendencies, even with temptations all around them.
      Plenty of people in her position have made that choice, and they chose not to do it, or worse, it consumed them entirely and they died for it. My cousin died because he was sucked into that kind of world, and I honestly thought he was the only one of us that could have been happy and successful without it. He was going to get better, but a crazy ex-girlfriend stabbed him in the chest, and that was that. I don't even know if he wanted to be buried, our family didn't have enough money to do a proper burial. Lost an uncle May 12 from similar circumstances.
      I could let those losses eat me alive, but I chose to remember what good memories I had, and respect their life choices, even if they were bad ones, but I'll never forgive the fact that something as stupid and avoidable as drug addiction would cause such travesties, regardless of circumstances. So, with that, I think with what she had going for her, was no where near where people outside of her own posh-in-comparison upbringings would even dream to go, as they wouldn't fuck up a gig as good as her's would have been.

But she is a human being, who has suffered so much and has overcome so much. anyone who has ever truly broken down, dealt with the hell of addiction or mental illness and have had to stand back up again and pick up the pieces knows that it is the hardest thing you will ever have to do- by a long shot. Laurita Venus Honestly. About 10 years ago, she was very cute. Now she looks like a 40 years old junkie woman. She only is 29 years old this year.
      She sadly was not clever enough to preserve her nice face. Look at her ugly bottox lips, at her false teeth, at her eyes. She looks totally destroyed and rotten.
      Poor Lindsay. :(

    I think we all need to realize that in the midst of all the glam and publicity and attention that celebrities get, they are all still humans beings with real struggles and feelings. Every person in this world has their own problems, whether they are big or small, it's never okay to think their struggles aren't real just because yours might seem bigger. I'm so happy for Lindsay staying sober, it's so inspiring to see someone rise up through all that she's been through while the world is breathing down her neck waiting for her to fall. Even if she slips up, she's human, and shouldn't be expected to be perfect all the time.

    My grandpa was a drunk (an angry drunk) but after my dad was born he joined Alcoholics Anonymous and never touched a drop of alcohol again. My dad always said he was "living the program" or something like that. He considered himself an alcoholic for the rest of his life. It's one of the hardest things someone can do, and generally involves dumping all your "friends" that we're encouraging your downward spiral, at least until you're completely under your own control. He also brought a lot of men from AA over during the years to have dinner/talk/befriend, and helped a lot of guys stay sober.
    Although she got herself into this mess, I'm very empathetic towards her struggles trying to stay off alcohol (and drugs, which I'm assuming makes it even harder to stay sober!). I hope she gets better, starts being introspective and kinder towards others.

    Imagine you go through everything she went through? Think about it before you judge it for anything . And she missed a lot in life , but who does not make mistakes ? It seems from what I saw , she is deeply remorseful and recognizes the error . Drugs and alcoholism end the life of any person . We have to know how to moderate the use of these substances and have confident and friends who are always by our side , no matter what . Wish you happiness in your life , I hope she has learned her lesson after all that happened .
