Been shooting F/TR competitively for the last 10 yrs and FSBR (F Class SmallBore) for the last 5. Greatest group of folks around and are an absolute wealth of information! Good Luck!
I wish we had a F-Class range near me. I would definitely give it a shot. We do have a monthly 600 yard gong challenge (on a 5" plate) I've done a couple of times and will be doing more, that's about an hour drive away. Great video! I've been watching both of you for quite a while.
I am a F-class nubie... shooting a Savage 12FV in 308 on a knockoff Harris bipod and sock with rice for a rear bag. Athlon 4x24 scope. Total investment approximately $1k. But it did start me in reloading. Another $$. As John says, Great!! people involved. Where I shoot there is only a 600yd range, but exceptional shooters. Local matches, non sanctioned; just fun! Would be awesome if Gavin and John were to show up, but location not convenient for you guys... Como, MS. Its 2nd Sat each month. PS, I shoot probably the cheapest rig there, by far; and have done well a couple of times. Like 392/400 and 14x's.
F-class John's beard has already begun to grow back😂
Excellent! I was shooting conventional prone competition, sling, sights (sometimes scopes) when F-Class originated. It's come a long way. :)

Hi Gavin watched you previous video with Eric gr8 interview. Have been following all you guys for quite some time now. Oct 21 bought a Tikka Tac A1 second hand. Worked out a load and joined a rifle club in June 22. Wanted to shoot PRS but local club here in Australia is Target rifle. Bought a MDT ckybipod Gen2 and a PRS bag and entered in Sporting Hunter class and shoot 6.5 creedmoor over F Class distance with a rifle that weighs max 6.5kg inc bipod. Absolutely love it. Entered into 2 prizes meetings and finished 2nd both times, to FClass shooters shooting this new discipline. Like you trying to gather all the information that I can use from these interviews. It seems like now 8 years after leavng the PNW I learn about how many great shooters and products some from there. I have a non-competition gun I have used peridocially for FTR. I used to be a member at Cascade outside Seattle, 600 yard max. I have a GAP built 308, Surgeon action, Bartlein barrel, AICS chassis. Can't keep up with the purpose built guns but a great piece of kit. Now in NC, about 2 hours from Butner. Closer to a 1k benchrest club and have done that with bad results a few times, hope to be back. Really like the content from both of you, please keep it going.
Can't wait to see more videos on this. I've been interested in F-Class for a little while now (since I found FClassJohn's channel). I just don't really know to go about getting into it. Very interested in this!

I agree, but I also believe there are many shooters out there that unfortunately don't have a was to be seen. There is a lot of talent out there. But many are not heard or seen.

To be clear the caliber limit is .35 caliber or maximum allowed by the range. No one shoots anything over .30 for very long at a match.

I'd love to get into F Class. I got my Distinguished Expert rank in Smallbore about 25 years ago and got into Service Rifle where I got up to Expert but I got out of it right before I had enough leg points to get Distinguished in that as well. My 2023 goal is to get back into Service Rifle and in addition to that I want to do some mid- and long range NRA matches with my custom AR-10 (M110 clone). Some day I'll get into F Class for sure.

Fclass tr shooter here been doing it for several years defiance action 308
I do not shoot F Class. I think I would love shooting F Class, but i do not have the money for a $10,000 custom F Class rifle, plus all the other equipment needed to become competitive. So i have to compete against myself with my FNH SPR A1 .308 at my local range each weekend.
It would really be nice if you or someone like you would showcase some of the more traditional disciplines. Like across the course high power service rifle or Palma competitions. These have been around for over a century. They don’t get the following f class does because they are harder. They are focused more on marksmanship skills rather than the equipment.

Does one have to be part of a team to be in F-class? How do accumulate points to be able to shoot in national competitions? Have never heard of a competition held in Florida.
You can compete individually.
Does Fclass John have a favourite stock & action?
Gonna shoot fclass open midrange this year, Remington 700 long range .30/06...175gr laupa otm, norma brass...Next year open 1k with 190gr vld's with my other 30/06! It's still at the gunsmith, 30 inch krieger barrel, German Salazar Seringetti match reamer...
....and now we know the face.
Never shot out over 445 yrds, but I have access to the rattlesnake range. It would be cool to have a fun day show up out there. I don't have a f class rifle, but I'm sure I could at least hit the bank at least from 600 to 1,000. Lol
Wish I had the time to dedicate to F class or PRS.

I want to shoot f class. I have a 6.5 creedmore. I've never shot farther than 500 yards. It's always been a dream to shoot 1000 or more. It's hard to find info. My club can go out to 600.
