Hey Brad I got a deck idea if your willing to give it a try which I call the Army.
3 Musketeer + Musketeer = Infantry squad
Zap + Fireball (or Rocket) = Shock and Awe (which is a combat doctrine)
Sparky = MBT (Main Battle Tank)
Flying Machine = Attack Chopper
Firecracker = RPG
Bomber = Grenadier
(These are other options you can add)

Mortar
Cannon
X-Bow

@Jon what trophy range do you play at though? The meta is different throughout ladder. Because it's the 7400 range when GY starts getting worse. Then at 7500 it's nothing but HC.
