One of the things I absolutely adore about Chef Jean-Pierre is him making mistakes. When he does that he removes the feeling of being pressured on doing everything perfectly from the viewer. He creates such a comfortable atmosphere in his videos and personally, that is greatly appreciated.

Like the part with the overflowing juices. I don’t think there are any turkey videos showing all the liquid that it makes. I always stress with the liquid.

I did a turkey like you showed in the video and it was amazingly moist and tender. I then put the presentation on a serving plater with all the pieces arranged like you showed in the video. My family and guests could not have been more impressed with the bird. You made the Thanksgiving day one to remember for many years to come. Thank you from our home to yours.

I have not had a single one of his recipes fail to become a family favorite! And they are EASY compared to many of the old recipes I used to make!
The best part about this channel is you don't edit to make everything perfect. The butter wasn't warm enough, but we got to see the texture of the butter that's not warm enough and warm just right. It's actually very helpful for some of us who are a little neurotic in the kitchen.

Quite a While ago I stopped trying to cook a whole Turkey to show off. Instead I use a Full size Steam Pan - I make my Stuffing and put it into the pan along with a little chicken stock and then I Cut apart the Turkey into pieces that I place ON TOP of the stuffing in the pan. This way, I can test each piece with an Instant thermometer and take them out when they are 5 degrees below done -- and let them rest to go up to the right temp. I get Properly done Thighs and Breast meat that is juicy and not overcooked every time. Juices from the Pieces end up in the stuffing. In addition it is easier to cut up the pieces than the whole turkey. I use the backbone and the wings for Turkey stock to make gravy too. I can actually fit TWO such pans in one of my ovens so I have plenty for the meal with lots of family and still have the other over for other dishes too. Yes - no AAH moment with the beautifully baked turkey but this makes the whole meal easier for me.
THOMMADURA: Great idea for those of us who feel intimidated or are unable to lift a giant turkey for a family of 12 or more! I’ll definitely use your recipe this Thanksgiving! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
@@susanyork6097 I hope you have an instant read thermometer - that is the one thing you may need. Butter the tops of the pieces too. Otherwise remember to take the Breasts out of the oven at Just under 155 degrees and let them rest (Foil covered) for about 1/2 hour and they will carry over cook to 160 degrees or so. Should be really juicy and might be just slightly pink. The correct temp for the Dark meat is 180 degrees after a rest but they can stand being overcooked. Still I take them out at 175 degrees and cover them and they will get to 180 easily too. As far as the stuffing - I always BROIL the top of it for a couple of minutes at the end to get some crunch - you may or may not like that. In the meantime I take the =backbone, wings, and neck , brown them in the bottom of a stock pot - add in some diced onion, celery, and pepper - and let this simmer for a couple of hours - strain off the Stock and make a great gravy. I generally have enough to make Pot Pies the next day from the leftover meat, some frozen peas and carrots - some cut up CANNED potatoes and mushroom pieces (If you have fresh mushrooms that - fry them up and that will work too). While I sometimes make my own crust - more often I use Pillsbury - and don't forget to egg wash the top.
@T I was right there with you. It is just me and while I always make the whole meal for myself, this year I was going to order out. But, I love to cook, and I love to make turkey. Love this. I cooked this Turkey Recipe last year, it was my best Turkey ever! This method of cutting up, I use also on the Rotisserie Chickens purchased at COSTCO! It’s amazingly easy! Bon Appétit!

i cooked Chef Jeans 2021 Turkey video Turkey for Thanksgiving & Christmas last year... im never cooking a Turkey any other way ever again lol.
i've cooked Gordons Turkey, a couple of Chef Johns from Food Wishes Turkey, and i've cooked a few other Chefs Turkeys.... none of them are as simple, gorgeous, and most importantly delicious as Chef Jean-Pierre.
i don't blow smoke when it comes to recipes, Chef Jean has some other recipes which i think there are better ways to do it.. but not when it comes to a holiday Turkey, Chef Jean has the best recipe.

Afternoon Chef J-P, beautiful, just beautiful. Have not seen a turkey cooked like that on a show. Following your instructions, we cannot go wrong. It is basic but the cooking basket is tops. That is a wow gadget for cooking a big piece of meat! It worked together beautifully. Congratulations, time was of the essence but you worked your way through and survived the challenge. Well done.

I bought that same roasting rack on a whim 6 yrs ago. I love it! It makes getting the turkey and roasts out of the pan and off the rack so easy. It has lost a little bit of its no stick properties over the years, but still works great. I just spray a little no stick spray on it before plopping my bird or roast on it now.
