Char Koey Teow, Curry, Laksa, Roti Prata, Rendang etc. they have it on both countries because basically they are multiracial countries with multiracial presented cuisines. Some Indonesians claimed Rendang is from their country, basically there are Indonesians living in Malaysia and Singapore so your point is irrelevant. Curry is actually from India, and I don't see any Indians fighting about it like foodie kids. This song isn't about "National Foods" of both countries, it's just a fun song about countries called Malaysia and Singapore. Don't get so butt-hurt if your country isn't mentioned.

  • @hanisahrashid822

I was about to comment how happy I am to see that they sang about Singapore and Malaysia because then there won't be anyone fighting. But then I read the comments...sigh.
I just wanna state my opinion.
Firstly, I don't think Singaporeans are "butthurt" about once being part of Malaysia, because that's in the past, so to some Malaysians, I hope you'll stop commenting and emphasizing that.
Secondly, Singapore has all those punishments and laws to keep the crime rate low. Stop saying we're uptight or whatnot. But yes, our education is stressful af.
Thirdly, as a Singaporean myself, I hope other Singaporeans will stop criticizing Malaysia especially with what their country is going through now. It's not the citizens fault yet they have to pay the price. It gets on my nerves when I see Singaporeans make fun of the Malaysian currency. Especially since Johor is near to Singapore. The people in Johor are purposely increasing the cost of things cuz they know Singaporeans will go there to shop. Let's not talk about Singaporeans here now, but how must the people in Johor feel knowing they have to pay more? What about the less fortunate?
I think it's time where Singapore and Malaysia stop their dispute and help one another. I just don't get why all of us have to criticize one another.
P.S. Now I'm craving for laksa and satay lmao.

After I read most of the comment here, most of you guys didn't realize this song is all about "Singapore & Malaysia" not about South East Asia. Never the less, some comment coming from Indonesia and Brunei wanted to participate in telling some of the food are from them, or atleast be a part of a video because of "South East Asia". Guys, chill, why bother to make it famous? Why not on "how developed your country is?" That is the thing you should proud of. If its only for food, each of our country have its own cuisine. and to Muslim who participate fasting on this holy month of Ramadan, you know the terms "kurang pahala" when you keep on fights what is best for you instead of others.
I'm from Brunei Darussalam by the way. I will eat any food(that is Halal) that are available in South East Asia States. Long live SEA!

Thanks for acknowledging Malaysia! You guys should come here some day, especially Penang; the food heaven! Really sad to see people fighting over rendang, Malaysia-Singapore, etc. I mean, chill guys. We're all in the same archipelago and was under the same government once upon a time (Srivijaya, Kesultanan Melayu Melaka, etc.). That's the whole reason why you should focus in History class. Learn our roots and embrace them. Stop criticizing each other. Each country has its own beauty and ugly sides. :)

LOL! like the product placement and the funny aunty dancing.
I am a Singaporean and have many close friends that are Malaysian.
To me both countries have very similar in cultures. There are still a little differences between both.
    Example:
    1) How same type of food (prata, laska, hokkien noodle and etc..) are being modify to create its unique taste.
    2) Slang use can be quite different. Even thought we understand what it means. Watch the youtubers video to know what i mean.
I believe each countries strength are their differences and similarity. It is very rare in this world where you can go to a different country and able to understand it slang, lingo and etc.. While having totally unique experiences.

I freak out everytime you guys say Singapore in a video this was just SO AWESOME. Also not chewing gum isn't really a big deal... we have chewy candy... so basically everything's the same except you know, no sticky residue all over public areas

Plus Singapore is an island which is as big as a third of Jakarta. The Kalimantan island is 2/3 Indonesia and 1/3 Malaysia.

Rendang is a Minangkabau dish. And in Malaysia they are mostly referred as "Orang Negeri". Let's not patent things shall we? After all, we are geographically close, it's not a surprise we share similarities in cuisines.

Rendang is more popular and talked about here. It's nothing like the Indon's. Maybe you people should stop trying to claim "rights" over petty little things and start improving your poor quality of life. I don't want to see you get all worked up and start claiming our skyscrapers and buildings that you built for us are yours too. haaa
