All we have by me in creeks is mud and limestone. There are deep quarry mines full of water around here. Putting in a fence post required diamond bit drill! No agates;(
Pay for a fairburn vacation. It's cheap. Gas, hike, content. No agates though.
You’re childlike joy/wonder is very endearing
A nice walk to couple of new places. Prospecting for agates in the sunshine. What a fun day. 😷⚒
Yes it was!
3:20 could it be black tourmaline with jasper or red hematite? I found some MN pieces online that look similar. I enjoyed this walk and the sound of the waves. Liked and shared.
Did you take that black and white striped rock? Holy Hannah that was beautiful ❤
Another great field trip and finds! You should create a bumper sticker saying, "I love agates. They're so fun!"
See some sunshine. My favourite was the leaf 😅😅
Sweet spot ,awesome finds!
Thanks 👍
NICE, a new place is always interesting, and those Agats tells there could be more to find.
I’m loving the rockhounding videos they’re so relaxing
I’m glad!
Go to your local tool, rental store rent a cut off saw that will cut that
What a nice way to wind down & relax after a taxing stressful day, i thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That first one was very cool! Can't wait to see what that spot holds once the water goes down a bit.
Woooo hooo! The large rock you wanted to know about…. My guess is Black Tourmaline.
That's what I was thinking too.. but I figured I was wrong lol
Nice to meander through the babbling brooks!!😁😁. Truly enjoyed it.
So glad!
Thank you for sharing a fun and interesting video.....🐝
Looks like you found a few stunners! Looking forward to this one.
Nice job.,..I wish you took the big one.... Beautiful small rocks....❤
Thanks
Yes, there's serpentine in mn
What area?
Hello, I'm from California. Those banded rock is actually a banded obsidian.
Minnesota doesn’t have obsidian sadly
I was thinking the same thing as I found a puece just like that out here in California. A FB group thought it was amygdaloidal basalt. Not so sure about that.
SWEET! It's always fun finding a new spot! 😊
Great river hunts...watch out for ticks and mosquitos and poison ivy.
The stone at minute 4 could be serpentine
Not sure that MN has that
Is it petrified wood?
Nice finds. Awesome vid.
Great new adventure, the quartz nodule at 6:30 would be a great tumbler. Have a great day, happy hounding.
I so enjoy watching and learning from you! I have been scouring some Lake Superior shores for agates/rocks west of Whitefish Point. Have mastered Petoskey stones and pudding stones (i live north of Petoskey) for years and now want the challenge of agates. Keep the great videos coming!
Good Finds❤❤❤❤
Was für schöne kleine Steine. LG aus Deutschland
Thanks
Da sind wir schon zu zweit 👋😁
Possibly banded chert at 4:00. Not sure, i don't usually see it where the bands are that contrasting. Beautiful nonetheless.
very pretty
I'm living vicariously through your videos! I can't wait to start looking again. We're planning a trip to Duluth in May or June. Do you, or any other commenters, know of any good places near there to hunt?
❤
i've found that waxy black stuff before too and it's so cool but no idea what it is!!!
Большой камень был красивый, и наверное, интересный внутри. Возьмите с собой молоток геолога, чтобы отколоть кусочек.
Would love to know where you were at!
Minnesota :)
The south has the best agates I've seen so far
South what?
Bom dia aqui do Brasil
Morning!
man this makes me want to go out and touch stones. but then I'd have to go out :(
Outside good
Tektit?
You’d better have a magnit with you in case you’d like to check if it’s a meteorite (the one in the video is not a meteorite).
The black rock looked like it could be petrified wood
I’m not sure 🤔
Do the agates grow from the inside out or the outside in?
Maybe it is zebra calcite vine
I am an old rock enthusiast, coming back to it now, as I have a new lease on life after a recent hospital excursion. I’m looking for any tips as a new lapidary hobbyist. I am in the process of purchasing a small trim saw as I do have some creative ideas and other rocks that I can find around my area. Is there decent and much cheaper way to make cabs other than to buy a very expensive cab machine? I already have a Tumbler And I will be purchasing a flex shaft, multitool as well. Just curious as to if this may be enough as a start for polishing, cutting and shaping. Any, and all help would greatly be appreciated friends. 👍🏻. Thank you
I'm wondering if that waxy rock was flint.
Maybe!
You should go back and get it!
That big chunk at 3:47 looks like a mix of basalt and jasper. I did this video rock hunting what I thought was odsidian near Obsidian Dome, here in California czcams.com/video/IWFKxxgKotk/video.html. Nice dice as a Facebook rock group said it was amygdaloidal basalt as basalt can also have conchoidal fractures. I think I see one in that chunk you found. Some of it also has the same bands as the one you found. Who knows, but that would've been awesome to cut on a bigger saw! ROCK ON!! 😁👍🏻🪨⛏️
👍🏻♥️♥️🌹
Was that creek in qld Australia
It was in Minnesota
Are you in Michigan?
MN
Why do they call it a “dead cat”?
I have never heard another person say that.
That’s what those fuzzy wind minimizes things are called for external mics
