Having been a developer in my previous life, I understand the challenges and demands of the job.
Most of the time, the goal is to ship code fast. My goal as a developer was to make something work. Nobody told me that my code would affect the availability of the entire stack.
When you mostly rely on the infrastructure folks to take care of high availability and disaster recovery, developers almost never think about this.
Until you get woken up at 3AM because the app that you wrote crashed. And everybody else is waiting on you to release an emergency fix.
