This is a great review, thank you. You pack a lot in mainly because you talk non stop but don't waste a word. I have the M3 base model in space grey and it is so quiet, so powerful, so fast I don't need any extra RAM or storage and for most people its the best laptop you can buy for the price. I was a windows guy until this, the battery life, keyboard and trackpad are better than I ever had on Dell XPS. Its one of the all time great laptops.

I am getting back into digital media from my college years almost ten years ago. I am upgrading from a 2013 Mac Book Pro 15 inch Base Model.
    I am definitely a “storage/ram”
Person. I learned when I was a college kid, this was a downfall to my first MacBook.
Do you or anyone here recommend I get a 13 inch M3 or M2 with 16GB of Ram and 1TB “Air” or a M3 16GB of Ram and 1TB “Pro”?
Guess I am just concerned about the thermal pad technology on a speced up Air.

I've never owned a mac, always been more of a android/Windows guy. That was until I saw the sleek, sexy midnight M3 air the other week. I had no idea it had literally just released but I loved it so much that I picked one up.
Went with the 16gb ram, 13inch one as that's all I needed, and boy, it fuckin SLAPS. I haven't upgraded my laptop in a few years but holy shit does this lil mf make my old one look like my 2015 highscool laptop..
I mainly use it to run slicers for my resin/3d printer, as well as CAD and blender for model making. With the occasional video editing. I probably went overboard with the M3 but I absolutely love it so far.

I am a Graphic Designer and a Photographer from India who works on multiple layers in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom Classic, Figma and Canva, also I am planning to start learning video editing using Adobe's Premier Pro or Davinci Resolve and motion graphics using Adobe After Effects.
Currently, I am using an AUS ROG Zephyrus G14 from 2020 with 16 gigs of memory and 1 TB of storage (this is the base model btw which has a Ryzen 5 4600 HS CPU and a Nvidia GTX 1650 ti GPU).
I usually have multiple apps running and this is how it might look on average:
    1. Photoshop
    2. Illustrator
    3. Figma (along with Photoshop on rare scenarios)
    4. Lightroom Classic (sometimes along with Photoshop)
    3. A browser (2 different ones like Brave and Firefox sometimes),
    4. Apple Music,
    5. Windows file explorer (4 to 5 tabs),
    6. A communication app (like Slack or Teams) and
    7. Notion.
So now can you tell me whether a person like me can get away with a decently specced Macbook Air (like a 15-inch model with 24 gigs of memory and 1 TB of storage) instead of a much more powerful Macbook Pro?

The 15 inch M3 has the base chips while with the MBP you can go to the M3 or really powerful M3 Max. with the pro you have also the fans this means MPB won´t decrease in power even if the machine heats. If you stay with base M3 chip I don´t think the difference with the configuration you want to buy for your MBA should show any difference. MBP have better screen, more power thanks to the fan and have more connection. Following your workflow maybe I should go for a MBP but definitely note the base model maybe a M3 pro chip or a base M3 But 24 gb and 1TB SSD but those machines are pricey.

I have asked the same question on multiple tech CZcamsr's videos so far I have got a reply from MacRumors saying that I will be fine if I go with a 15-inch MBA with the spec that I have mentioned as he has a similar workflow it seems. I haven't got much response from other people though. But even if I get I am not sure what others may suggest as most people suggest I go with an MBP 14 or 16-inch. You talk about all the specs which the Apple official infos. But there’re some problems that M series MacBook which you need to review the most, it’s the touchpad and screenshot.
Of course you said that there’s no problem with the touchpad and screenshot. But many people experienced MacBook Air m1 with bad experience of touchpad after buying the new macbook several months afterwards. The touchpad not smooth, even MacBook Pro 2012 touchpad was so very smooth and good, but this air M1 was so bad and mot smooth.
And also after screenshot usually we put the shot directly insert it into Words or Apple Pages. After put it the screenshots for several times, it will loading so ever lasting! Never experienced it from MacBook Pro 2012, even using other things at the same time was never damage from the screenshot like M series MacBook.
So, I don’t know whether your review on M3 junk did the same other like m2 or m3? Without any research or experience it? Better not misinforming.
