- A tranche of documents relating to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein have been published - including the evidence of a woman who claimed the Duke of York touched her breast.
US Judge Loretta Preska ruled last month that documents naming more than 170 people who were either associates, friends or victims of Epstein should be made public.
One site where the documents were being released on Wednesday evening crashed within minutes, warning that the server might be overloaded.
In one document, a woman named Johanna Sjoberg claimed Prince Andrew touched her breast while sitting on a couch inside the US billionaire’s Manhattan apartment in 2001, while giving testimony in May 2016.
Buckingham Palace previously said the allegations are “categorically untrue”.
The documents are part of a 2015 US defamation case by Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell, the disgraced British socialite who supplied Epstein with underage girls.
Julia Hartley-Brewer speaks to royal expert Kinsey Schofield and questions who knew about Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes as court files related to him are released.

As an American, I can't understand why the focus is on Andrew. There are former presidents, prime ministers, members of Congress and other much more disturbing names - people who are in charge of governments, etc . . . and that is the bottom line that no one mentions -BLACKMAIL! Was this done to control our governments? How about the stories about Bill Gates and Jeffrey blackmailing him.

Today lots of famous people pay out because it's actually cheaper than to fight it in court. Rarely do you see a person fight like Johnny Depp did when he was wronged. In the UK a seventeen year old is not under age. Not to defend Andrew, but the premise that a famous person paid an accuser shows they must be guilty, is faulty. Famous people are often accused of wrongdoing by ppl who want to be paid. Famous ppl pay it in order not to be smeared as their careers depend on image. Just saying that in and of itself is not proof of wrongdoing.
You have to remember that the age of consent in the UK has been 16 for decades and decades. Andrew wouldn't give it a second thought about her being 17, why would he ? In addition, the world was a very different place then, being groped wasn't abnormal, disgusting and abhorrent though it is now. Men genuinely didn't think their behaviour was wrong or offensive, it was a case of being a 'jack the lad', a bit of naughty fun.

Also to be fair the Sandringham Xmas get-together would have been organised way in advance before the NY judge decided to release the unredacted documents, allowing them to do the Xmas walk was a way to gauge the public response to them & SF certainly seemed to milk that public appearance for everything it was worth.
