    I just installed these lights and bracket on my Promaster it took me about 3 hours with your instructions everything went great, the only thing I probably did different is I added about 2 feet of wire to one of the spot lights because it was short and I really wanted to hide the wires. Me and my wife were laughing like you were when we did the low beams then high beams then the LED Bar light haha!

      Awesome! haha. I wish I could add the light bar on my new van but the parking sensors and auto braking safety sensors are in the way. I'll find a work around soon I'm sure.

    Install stainless steel bolts with locknuts to make it harder to steal both your lights and the license plates. I installed them on the front and back. The locknut makes it extremely hard for someone to steal your license plate with just a screwdriver.

    A light bar is good for driving safety on the dirt roads as I have read from other campers. Also great for camp security.

    Thanks for taking the time to post. While every install and equipment is different I always learn something new. The bracket was a sweet find, that's a good bolt on solution.

    I appreciate your willingness to help us all do this! I followed the same process as you with slight modifications from your craftsmanship and skill.
    I hollowed out the fire wall grommet and reused as I passed the cables thru. I also used Wago connectors, they allow disconnecting the wires for changing out headlamps/signal bulbs and then reconnecting the connection, no wire waste or soldering involved.

    Just wanted to thank you for guiding me through the installation of this light. It made it so much easier to know what parts and tools were needed to do it easily. Still not sure if the plate panel will be secure enough but I think I will reinforce it a bit more to insure it doesn’t come away from the bumper.

    Just screwing the whole assembly into the plastic outer bumper is not very secure. removing the grill to enable adding bolts with spacers through the steel inner bumper would be much more work but seriously stronger and lasting.

    Very cool! Legally, can you drive with those on? Honestly, I suppose it's more "if a light bar is on in the middle of nowhere but nobody is there to see it, is it really against the law?"

    • @BuildingVanLife
      @BuildingVanLife  Před 2 lety +6

      Legally they are for off road use only. You are not allowed to have them turned on for on road use. I use it all the time when there is nobody in sight.

    • @BuildingVanLife

  • @briankeller5913
    @briankeller5913 Před rokem

    The harness kit that came with it only had a lead that would go to the main light bar and another shorter lead for the smaller light, but not a second set of leads to run to the other light. Do you have to add more wires to go to the second light, or is the link for the harness incorrect?

    • @BuildingVanLife
      @BuildingVanLife  Před rokem

      There are two links there, one for just the light bar and one with the light bar and the flood lights. The kit comes with everything. That's the link i used for mine with the flood lights. Maybe your package didnt include everything and you need to return to amazon?
