For all the commenters complaining about no Q, he's right that it is useless on Udyr currently. Yes, it would have been good to have a quick explanation why and show that in the video, but we all love this channel because three minutes gets you the important information quickly. So, get off his back.

A lot of top laners struggle to lane against them but will provide way more value as the game goes on!
Why ignore the Q?
Because nobody runs him in anything other than AP now. I tried AD the other night for a few runs..... Did not go well.
@@Shadowtron1221 wrong. even when running AP, in the early game if an enemy is isolated, empowered Q does way more damage than empowered R. it was stupid of this video to ignore Q.
So Udyr is one of my mains at the moment, I've played over 100 games of him already this season and have been maining him top and jungle for way too many years. Q is great damage, but if you're taking it top you're completely missing the point of him on the team. You're here to play well into tanks and get the percentage health damage and scale into a teamfighter, not the Q single target damage build. We've all seen the Q build for when it was meta for months and did insane damage but that's just not viable anymore and the R build is the way! - There's a reason why less than 1% of Udyr's top over Diamond never take Q and pros literally never do, it's just not good - just need to understand why you're here on the team where if you want that single target damage, play a different champion!

AD is way more fun
running at a mf then empowering q to oneshot him and run away at mach 10 is alot more fun than just going in and being a sponge

Nice just ignore his highest damage ability and only upgrade E maybe stick to characters you know more about.

So this comment would be fair sometimes, I of course don't know all champs equally and some I need to research more than others but Udyr I know incredibly well - I've already played over 100 games of him this season and he's been one of my mains top and jungle since long before his reworks and even in high diamond on my main I have a win rate in the high 50%s. We all saw the meta (And I loved playing it) where you would max Q and explode someone, this was nerfed multiple times for a reason!
This comes down to understanding your role and understanding the macro. After all there is a reason why less than 1% of Udyr's top in diamond or above max Q (Actually way less than 1% and the win rate is awful) And about 5% ever level it even once (Which you do in very specific match ups so 5% is about right) It's because it's bad. Your role on the team is to deal large AoE damage across a team while slowing them, also your job is to deal large damage to their front line with the % health damage. The Q is great single target damage, but it's nerfed and if you're going for a single target champion literally play 20 other champions that do it better, Udyr is not good at it anymore!
This video is for the Udyr you're seeing in pro pick all the time (Which of course no one has yet even levelled Q on), it's the teamfighting Udyr who shreds front lines and provides insane value in extended fights, it's all about bullying the tanky top laner and then being that frontline in the mid game, not trying to assassinate something before they get you!
