I do not reapply my makeup after work, neither do I remove my makeup when I get home from work. I personally truly appreciate your 12 hr wear test. I work in Health Care and there are times I work doubles and it ends up being 14 to 15 hrs. So yes I may wear y makeup for that long. Totally LOVE that you do 12 hour check ins… As someone whose been in nursing for last decade your spot on that people need foundations to last 12 hours. Our shifts are commonly that long if not 16 hour shifts or more. We also get mandated to stay over/cover for call outs all the time so you really never know how long your going to be on the unit. Having a foundation you can count on is key in those situations. Never mind factoring in the masks/face shields. Probably why I’m a Double Wear girl always have been always will be 💕💕 I’m a SAHM now since I had twins but I needed BULLETPROOF makeup before and will need it again when I go back. Thanks for your thorough reviews and I really think it looked lovely on you !! It’s a great day to day option for sure.
SO MANY AMAZING nurses or those who work in the Health care industry here in my comment section. I was telling others, I have always wanted to be a nurse. I was a CNA and planned on going to nursing school, but got married, pregnant and never went back to get my education. I have always admired nurses (long before the pandemic) and the dedication it takes to be a nurse. When I worked as a CNA, those are LOOOONG 12 hour days, on your feet, running from room to room, job after job, it's absolutely tiring. The Kosas is just meh for me. I returned it. These skin care infused foundations are not my personal favorites in wear or look. I love the Beauty Blender skin tint and I don’t find them similar. The Beauty Blender has silicones in it which I personally like and need because of the smoothing effect and Kosas is silicone free…probably why I don’t like it. I’m starting to pay close attention to ingredients before purchasing. Excellent review as always though. I wear my foundation regularly for 10 hours so I appreciate long wear tests.
Mine disappeared from my nose, even with setting spray. I was disappointed because I wanted it to work. I may have to wait until winter to use it again because the day I tried itC the mercury hit 90 in Laredo. I used my new LEIA applicator (bought it based on Wayne Goss' and Theresa Is Dead's video recommendation) and I have found that I need to use less product. Nonetheless, the nose issue was a deal breaker for me.
Today I've had my foundation on for 16 hours, so yes to the 12 hr check-ins! I'm 57 with combo skin (normal w/oily T-zone), wrinkles, and textured acne scarring. This has become my favorite foundation. I generally have to powder or touch up any foundation. I'll forgive that for the way it sets on my skin and the ingredients.
Thank you for this! I'm similar in type to you and was wondering if it could be saved in the middle of a long day. Since I have so much texture, the way a foundation sits on my skin is becoming more important than how long it is bullet-proof.

Echoing some of the other comments here I also appreciate the 12 hour wear tests and wait for your reviews before I buy anything. I'm a 12 hour shift girl so I wear my foundation at least 14 hours once I factor in travel time etc so the countless other 8 hour wear tests I see aren't much help to me. It's definitely appreciated Tara...people need to shut their yaps criticizing just because the extra effort you go to isn't relevant to them. We all have different lifestyles and needs if they'd pop the bubble they exist in they'd realise that. 💞💞

I LOVE your 12 hour check-ins Tara!!! I’m in Real Estate and I can have a 12/14 hour day pretty often! I really think this Kosas foundation is beautiful the only thing I worry about is the SPF in the foundation. My skin is so sensitive especially with an SPF that isn’t my go to!
Because of the cost this was one I took back. I've not done that in a bit but the undertones on this one where not right for me and I pretty much agree with your findings! When I worked at the hospital I pulled 16 hour shifts so I always try to do 12 hour wear tests! Love you!

100 percent I wear a foundation for 12 hours plus. I get ready for work in the morning by 7:30 A.M. and I am there all day and often don't get home until 7 at night.
Exactly. People are clueless and don't seem to live in the real world. I have worked 12-hour shifts, and your body hurts by the time you get home. The last thing you want to worry about is if your foundation is looking a hot mess. Lol. You wouldn't believe how many nasty comments I've gotten from people criticizing me for expecting a Foundation to last 12 hours😳 So stupid!! To avoid the comments, I now just explain why lol.
I truly appreciate you highlighting the 12 hour shift . I also wear a mask at work and work midnights. So I will be going with the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation.
This was one foundation that I just could not get to work. I have dry skin and after 1 hours this was SO cakey and crusty. I returned it yesterday. Bummer because I love their concealer!
@@melindagenitempo2359 I am 57 with super dry skin also! I have three recommendations at various price points. The most expensive and longest wear time is the Number 1 Chanel foundation. It requires good skin prep but is gorgeous and lasts over 12 hours on me and still looks amazing. A little goes a long way. Midrange is the new Nars light reflecting foundation. This one is the most dry mature skin friendly and is beautiful! Doesn’t wear as long as the Chanel but fades gracefully! For a drugstore price option that blew me away with how great it looks and covers without settling into creases is the Misha BB cream. It is a lighter coverage but it makes my skin look amazing! Hope that helps, it is hard to find dry mature skin friendly foundations!

Tara I swear we have the same opinions on foundations. I love this foundation just like I love the beauty blender skin tint! It is so flattering especially since I have normal to dry skin it’s just so easy with this one, I don’t find it finicky at all which I love. I hate when I have to figure out how to make something work. I think powder doesn’t do this foundation favors though. I think powder makes it more tacky oddly enough. Kinda like mixing flour and water and it becomes gummy if that makes any sense. This might be one where a good setting spray might do better than powder. So I just let it do its own thing. But I do love it as an easy everyday foundation.

The first time I wore this I was in love with it. The second third and fourth time it’s just looked awful! I am so confused! I have dry skin so maybe I was extra hydrated the first day.
Michelle, I have dry skin also and the only way I can wear it is if I am extra hydrated during my skin prep. Although it is pricey, the Number 1 foundation by Chanel is really good on my dry skin with my normal skin prep. A little goes a long way so it lasts and the staying power like Tara said is phenomenal!
I have an 8 hour shift, but often I go straight out afterwards so still need my make up to hold up and look decent because im not going to reapply it at work to go out on the evening. So keep doing them for sure 🎉
I actually purchased this foundation before watching your review. Yes, I'm shocked I did that! I purchased shade 230 and I feel it's so yellow. I need a neutral shade. I could mix it with another foundation to get a better shade. There is a coupon online that you can buy the foundation, matching concealer and the Cloud powder for $80. Still in love with the Chanel No 1 more than this one.
I can definitely get away with 120 cool, but they don't do cool shades well either. They run extremely yellow and I need true cool pink shades. Unfortunately their lightest concealer shade isn't light enough and also runs yellow. I wish they would made more true cool and neutral shades as the foundation and concealer is one of my favs
@@Cherie.H same! Even 1.5c is the yellowest concealer in my collection. Now Tarte, THEY know how to make great undertones for cool skin. Not yellow or neutral at all

I really appreciate how you did your test even if we don’t wear our makeup for 12hrs it’s nice to know abiut what point it starts to break down. I actually picked it up and I 💯 agree about the clean brush and less is more. I’m combo and I’ve use hydrating but somewhat pore filling primers and light layer of setting powder (OneSize it Rare Beauty) and hold down most oils along with extended wear time

I am so curious to hear your thoughts! This has been one of my new favorites along with their concealer (I have oily dehydrated acne prone skin). They really need to expand their shades and make them not so yellow though. I did a battle btwn this one and Tarte Cloud and was surprised I preferred Tartes just a hair more. I agree. I could see it getting slightly cakey if using too much and don't know if super dry skin would like this as much as normal/oily which also surprised me

Can you use a foundation brush more than once? You said when you used a clean brush it was better. I have never used a foundation brush for more than 1 application... I put them in a box then wash on the wknd Is it ok to use it for several days? Just curious thank you!
Great question Renee. Yes, you can use it a few times before cleaning it. I sometimes go too long before washing. Haha. But, I bought a few extras to keep on hand so I could try to use them a few times and grab a new one😁 you're doing great washing on the wkd🙌 Doing better than i am😁 But. I do clean my sponges every day so at least I'm doing that. Haha. 🤣 Hope that helps🙏

I love the concealer but I think their shades are too yellow I might give this a try it is not my list but not something I need to buy right away I wear my makeup at least 10 hrs a day and I need them to look good until early evening so this might not be for me
Agreed. I have to order the lightest shade which is still too dark and even their 1.5c is very yellow. I wish they would expand their concealer shades and not make their cools so yellow. Because I LOVE this foundation and their concealer
People who criticised you for doing 12 hour tests need to realise that there are professional women working in fields that go 12 hours and beyond. I'm a surgeon... My working day is easily 12 hours.

I personally truly appreciate your 12 hr wear test. I work in Health Care and there are times I work doubles and it ends up being 14 to 15 hrs. So yes I may wear y makeup for that long. Totally LOVE that you do 12 hour check ins… As someone whose been in nursing for last decade your spot on that people need foundations to last 12 hours. Our shifts are commonly that long if not 16 hour shifts or more. We also get mandated to stay over/cover for call outs all the time so you really never know how long your going to be on the unit. Having a foundation you can count on is key in those situations. Never mind factoring in the masks/face shields. Probably why I’m a Double Wear girl always have been always will be 💕💕 I’m a SAHM now since I had twins but I needed BULLETPROOF makeup before and will need it again when I go back. Thanks for your thorough reviews and I really think it looked lovely on you !! It’s a great day to day option for sure.
SO MANY AMAZING nurses or those who work in the Health care industry here in my comment section. I was telling others, I have always wanted to be a nurse. I was a CNA and planned on going to nursing school, but got married, pregnant and never went back to get my education. I have always admired nurses (long before the pandemic) and the dedication it takes to be a nurse. When I worked as a CNA, those are LOOOONG 12 hour days, on your feet, running from room to room, job after job, it's absolutely tiring. The Kosas is just meh for me. I returned it. These skin care infused foundations are not my personal favorites in wear or look. I love the Beauty Blender skin tint and I don’t find them similar. The Beauty Blender has silicones in it which I personally like and need because of the smoothing effect and Kosas is silicone free…probably why I don’t like it. I’m starting to pay close attention to ingredients before purchasing. Excellent review as always though. I wear my foundation regularly for 10 hours so I appreciate long wear tests.
Mine disappeared from my nose, even with setting spray. I was disappointed because I wanted it to work. I may have to wait until winter to use it again because the day I tried itC the mercury hit 90 in Laredo.
I used my new LEIA applicator (bought it based on Wayne Goss' and Theresa Is Dead's video recommendation) and I have found that I need to use less product. Nonetheless, the nose issue was a deal breaker for me.
Today I've had my foundation on for 16 hours, so yes to the 12 hr check-ins!
I'm 57 with combo skin (normal w/oily T-zone), wrinkles, and textured acne scarring. This has become my favorite foundation. I generally have to powder or touch up any foundation. I'll forgive that for the way it sets on my skin and the ingredients.
Thank you for this! I'm similar in type to you and was wondering if it could be saved in the middle of a long day. Since I have so much texture, the way a foundation sits on my skin is becoming more important than how long it is bullet-proof.

Echoing some of the other comments here I also appreciate the 12 hour wear tests and wait for your reviews before I buy anything. I'm a 12 hour shift girl so I wear my foundation at least 14 hours once I factor in travel time etc so the countless other 8 hour wear tests I see aren't much help to me. It's definitely appreciated Tara...people need to shut their yaps criticizing just because the extra effort you go to isn't relevant to them. We all have different lifestyles and needs if they'd pop the bubble they exist in they'd realise that. 💞💞

I LOVE your 12 hour check-ins Tara!!! I’m in Real Estate and I can have a 12/14 hour day pretty often! I really think this Kosas foundation is beautiful the only thing I worry about is the SPF in the foundation. My skin is so sensitive especially with an SPF that isn’t my go to!

100 percent I wear a foundation for 12 hours plus. I get ready for work in the morning by 7:30 A.M. and I am there all day and often don't get home until 7 at night.
Exactly. People are clueless and don't seem to live in the real world. I have worked 12-hour shifts, and your body hurts by the time you get home. The last thing you want to worry about is if your foundation is looking a hot mess. Lol. You wouldn't believe how many nasty comments I've gotten from people criticizing me for expecting a Foundation to last 12 hours😳 So stupid!! To avoid the comments, I now just explain why lol.
I truly appreciate you highlighting the 12 hour shift . I also wear a mask at work and work midnights. So I will be going with the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation.
This was one foundation that I just could not get to work. I have dry skin and after 1 hours this was SO cakey and crusty. I returned it yesterday. Bummer because I love their concealer!

@@melindagenitempo2359 I am 57 with super dry skin also! I have three recommendations at various price points. The most expensive and longest wear time is the Number 1 Chanel foundation. It requires good skin prep but is gorgeous and lasts over 12 hours on me and still looks amazing. A little goes a long way. Midrange is the new Nars light reflecting foundation. This one is the most dry mature skin friendly and is beautiful! Doesn’t wear as long as the Chanel but fades gracefully! For a drugstore price option that blew me away with how great it looks and covers without settling into creases is the Misha BB cream. It is a lighter coverage but it makes my skin look amazing! Hope that helps, it is hard to find dry mature skin friendly foundations!

Tara I swear we have the same opinions on foundations. I love this foundation just like I love the beauty blender skin tint! It is so flattering especially since I have normal to dry skin it’s just so easy with this one, I don’t find it finicky at all which I love. I hate when I have to figure out how to make something work. I think powder doesn’t do this foundation favors though. I think powder makes it more tacky oddly enough. Kinda like mixing flour and water and it becomes gummy if that makes any sense. This might be one where a good setting spray might do better than powder. So I just let it do its own thing. But I do love it as an easy everyday foundation.

The first time I wore this I was in love with it. The second third and fourth time it’s just looked awful! I am so confused! I have dry skin so maybe I was extra hydrated the first day.
Michelle, I have dry skin also and the only way I can wear it is if I am extra hydrated during my skin prep. Although it is pricey, the Number 1 foundation by Chanel is really good on my dry skin with my normal skin prep. A little goes a long way so it lasts and the staying power like Tara said is phenomenal!

I have an 8 hour shift, but often I go straight out afterwards so still need my make up to hold up and look decent because im not going to reapply it at work to go out on the evening. So keep doing them for sure 🎉
I actually purchased this foundation before watching your review. Yes, I'm shocked I did that! I purchased shade 230 and I feel it's so yellow. I need a neutral shade. I could mix it with another foundation to get a better shade. There is a coupon online that you can buy the foundation, matching concealer and the Cloud powder for $80. Still in love with the Chanel No 1 more than this one.
Oh my gosh! I feel the same- kosas doesn’t seem to know how to give us a neutral base.
I can definitely get away with 120 cool, but they don't do cool shades well either. They run extremely yellow and I need true cool pink shades. Unfortunately their lightest concealer shade isn't light enough and also runs yellow. I wish they would made more true cool and neutral shades as the foundation and concealer is one of my favs

I really appreciate how you did your test even if we don’t wear our makeup for 12hrs it’s nice to know abiut what point it starts to break down. I actually picked it up and I 💯 agree about the clean brush and less is more. I’m combo and I’ve use hydrating but somewhat pore filling primers and light layer of setting powder (OneSize it Rare Beauty) and hold down most oils along with extended wear time

I am so curious to hear your thoughts! This has been one of my new favorites along with their concealer (I have oily dehydrated acne prone skin). They really need to expand their shades and make them not so yellow though. I did a battle btwn this one and Tarte Cloud and was surprised I preferred Tartes just a hair more. I agree. I could see it getting slightly cakey if using too much and don't know if super dry skin would like this as much as normal/oily which also surprised me
I like the Tarte better as well. 👌🏼 The Kosas is just ok to me.

Great question Renee. Yes, you can use it a few times before cleaning it. I sometimes go too long before washing. Haha. But, I bought a few extras to keep on hand so I could try to use them a few times and grab a new one😁 you're doing great washing on the wkd🙌 Doing better than i am😁 But. I love the concealer but I think their shades are too yellow I might give this a try it is not my list but not something I need to buy right away I wear my makeup at least 10 hrs a day and I need them to look good until early evening so this might not be for me
Agreed. I have to order the lightest shade which is still too dark and even their 1.5c is very yellow. I wish they would expand their concealer shades and not make their cools so yellow. Because I LOVE this foundation and their concealer
Do you feel like it pulled yellow? I liked the feel of the Concealer but I felt like it pulled so yellow on my skin.
People who criticised you for doing 12 hour tests need to realise that there are professional women working in fields that go 12 hours and beyond. I'm a surgeon... My working day is easily 12 hours.
