This was my fiance's favorite movie and song. I spent 5 years learning to play the piano and mastering this piece. Last week I finally got to play it at our wedding and brought her to tears.

Listening to this while I commute to work to Shibuya. My wife, two year old daughter and myself moved here moved to Tokyo from nyc and came across this gem. I’m currently listening and reading all the wonderful comments, it hits me differently since I’m still struggling at work, a new environment, I’m originally from the states but my wife is from here. NYC is dangerous, crime infested, cost of living, quality of life is in turmoil so we moved here. It’s been night and day. Thank you for this so I can unpack my emotions and have the feels. Japan work culture is no joke and I used to work in Wall Street in Financial District. Love you all!

小学生の時に見て、虜になった映画であり、曲。登場人物の全員にそれぞれの正義があって、それぞれが奔走する所、美しく雄大な自然の描写に魅せられました。この曲を聞くととても落ち着きますね。

자연의 섭리를 따르며 그 무엇에도 그 누구에게도 간섭하지 않으려 하지만 자식같은 동물들이 괴로운 비명을 지르며 고통에 몸부림치는 모습과 자식같은 인간들이 자신을 해하려하고 구하려하는 모습에서 얼마나 심란하고 답답했을지 생각하면 너무 마음이 불편해져요.
죽을 때가 된 동물을 임의로 구원해주지 않고 죽을 때가 되지 않은 아시타카를 구원해준 사슴신은 사실 그 누구에게나 공평하다 못해 매정한 시간 그 자체가 아닐까 하는 생각이 들어요. 그래서 디자인 자체를 범접할 수 없고 무슨 생각을 하는지 읽을 수 없게 묘하고 기괴하게 디자인을 한 걸지도 모르겠네요.

Telling a simple story with gorgeous set pieces and amazing attention to detail. The ability to make me cry without even saying a word in some movies. Its just amazing. Great movie, a classic, next to spirit away, this my favorite of Miyazaki productions, princess Mononoke was a child whose parents abandoned her to save themselves, the wolf god raised her, humans need to learn to live without, in harmony with nature, is the principle theme in many of his movies, especially in “Spirit away”, a bathhouse where spirits came to renew themselves, another great timeless animated classic…until modern times, industrial modernization, vehicles, the Japanese always revered their environment in the Buddhist tradition, almost a lost world of beautiful traditions, even the Samurai valued respect and honor, as part of it culture, which in some ways still honored today, like sumo wrestling…..this music is hauntingly beautifully sad !
