    I just finished with my solar shed project and couldn't be happier with the results. This shed will be a great workshop, a charging station for my battery-powered lawn equipment, and help to keep my property secure. For this type of project, you have lots of options and I will try to provide both what I used and other options that might work better for you and your solar shed.

    What I have done is use automotive lighting (12v) and my camera used 12v at 800ma, so my battery lasts a really long time. I have just one 300W solar panel that charges the batter using a mppt charge controller. I use an inverter if I need to charge power tool batteries or need to use AC for something else. I found that that the battery lasts a very long time. It is a bit more cluttered looking but it is a shed. I love what your did and how clean it is. That is the trade off.

    This is awesome. Don't really plan on upgrading my shed anytime soon but love that this is something we can do today.

    Why not power the internal lights via DC? more efficient overall.

      Nice, I have a seen a couple people do that over the years. The pro is you can really design the power station to match your use case 👍

    Nice solution, nice thing is you can also expand the Delta 2 up to 3kwh if you wanted.

    EG4 and Rich Solar each have a 3000W all-in-one inverter/charger for 48V batteries ... only $400. You can get a 48V 50Ah battery (Eco-Worthy) for $550.

    In my solar shed. I add mad amount of lights to lite up the entire backyards plus iOT wifi DC controller for interior 12v lights and TV simulator to mimic someone inside the shed.

    Here's a small tip to save you some battery power. Run your security camera and lights off of DC Power Only and Turn the Inverter off. Only turn the AC on when you need it keep the DC running 24/7

    Make just test a small windmill. I live in Illinois and when it’s cloudy it typically means we have wind.

      That is on the list. I am trying to get a little ground outside of city to expand out the installations and a small turbine would be great. Thanks for the feedback.

    Luv your work, Scott, excellent clear presentation. Just confirming you have the ecoflow in your shed running 24/7 and hooked up to the solar? Continuous running, any issues?

    • @everydaysolar
      @everydaysolar  Před 20 dny +1

      Yep, it is still running and the main draw is the Eufy 360 security camera in addition to charging some battery for the lawn tools. So far, so good!

    What about IL winters with the battery? You are going to heat the shed?

    I like the thought of having all that in one unit but what happens when something fails internally?
    A small DIY build can also be built up.

      For sure, I would say the biggest benefits of DIY would be both serviceability and expandability. 👍

  • @jedjade4002
    @jedjade4002 Před 2 měsíci

    You talked about the DIY in a fairly negative light, but it's going to cost about half the price, be as or more capable, and expandable piece by piece without spending eco flow money again.
    These eco flows and such are for people with lots of spare cash who don't want to have to do anything. I keep seeing these youtube channels talk about them in such a favorable light without ever mentioning the price difference. This is important, especially if your experience with them is that you got your unit for free.
    Of course it's really nice, but it's luxury, and not at all meant to be a stationary unit. A chunk of that price is the portable camping style usage.

    Did you go over the cost for this solar project, or did I miss it?

    • @everydaysolar
      @everydaysolar  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I mentioned the Delta 2, wiring, and 2 x 100 watt panels were just under $1,000. Depending on mounting, location, and if you are going to trench from a ground mount that could add up to a couple hundred more.

    • @everydaysolar
      @everydaysolar  Před 3 měsíci

      Most panels are pretty resilient. Honestly if you have a hail storm come through that damages the solar panels you probably have a bunch of other issues are well.

    You need to add an alarm that is loud that will discourage anyone when they open your doors a motion detector that alerts you inside your home or on your phone. Otherwise you have done an impressive job on this shed. Thank you for sharing.

    Cool shed! Add fire alarm(smoke) please and a easy lock. Is there also a chance for humidity there to cause problems?
