- Hans J. Wegner designed the Wishbone Chair in 1949 especially for Carl Hansen & Søn. It was produced for the first time in 1950 and has been produced continuously ever since. The Wishbone Chair is an excellent example of Hans J. Wegner's constant strive towards achieving organic simplicity, comfort and stability in his designs.

How does the paper cord last over time?
Needs to be re-done every 5 to 8 years or so if you use it every day. Not that expensive to have done.

@@caml90 There are many independent workshops in Copenhagen and around Denmark offering the service. You shouldn't have to go to Carl Hansen for it.

@@nessus47 Actually it kinda does, The Wishbone chair represents a synthesis of five archetypal chair types: The antique Klismos chair, the peasant's chair, the bentwood chair, the Windsor chair and... the Chinese chair. haha
