Joe reviews an old, reliable piece of EDC gear: the Maxpedition Micro Pocket Organizer. If you have a need for better organization in a bag, purse, or cargo pocket you can’t go wrong with this item. Sadly, the price point for this particular pouch has escalated over the years since this video was posted. Sorry for any false hope these old price points have generated.

I've been carrying the Maxpedition Micro Pouch on me everyday for over 3 years now. I absolutely love it. It's held up well. Most of the year it rides in my jacket pocket. I can put it in a rear pocket of my jeans. But, as you mentioned there will be a visual bulge. But, personally since it's in my back pocket, I don't really care. No one looks at my a$$ anyways. Hi, hi. 🙂
    My EDC pouch:
    Bic lighter
    Ferro rod
    AAA flashlight
    Spare AAA battery
    Mini USB battery
    Cellphone wall charger
    Cigarette USB adapter
    6' USB-C cable
    Band-Aids
2x sealed travel size packs of Tylenol

Maxpedition shipping costs are ridiculously high, even for today's standards! I ordered a 2 for 1 deal from them which almost ended up costing the same as if I bought it from Amazon with "free" prime shipping. I also ordered similar pouches from Vanquest the same day where shipping costs were half of Maxpedition's, and already they have it in the mail! Still waiting for any shipping update from Maxpedition!

Excellent review, especially regarding the specifics of the nylon and the dimensions. As an EDC fan I've been looking for something quality like this for awhile. It seems to me the only drawback is it doesn't have Molle on the back like the Mini model does. I want to wear the micro on my belt, though I've even thought of replacing my wallet with it. Thoughts for workarounds to attach it to a belt?

Sew on a belt loop? Gain a skill and a belt pouch in one move

Here’s the rollerball but there is also a Fountain Pen version, which is what I have. They look identical when capped

I’m not sure because this was given to me by a friend but it is labeled as “Made in USA, U.S. GOVT.”

I use it for various things. Mine isn’t a “permanent” setup. Sometimes power cables and travel items, sometimes a sharpening kit… depends on what I need

you should add a mini lighter, never know when you need to start a fire

I can say with certainty that I’ve never needed to randomly start a fire. I have, however, needed to start a fire while backpacking, which explains why you should carry a fire starter while backpacking, but not while shopping at Home Depot or sitting in your office.
