Just discovered your channel and I’m binge watching. You are curating something special here👌🏾👏🏾. I’m fascinated at the variations and similarities in Nguni cultures. In Ndebele culture ko Mthwakazi (Zim) umalukazana/umakoti does not shake hands and definitely no hugs either with Babazala and the same goes for umkhwenyana with umamazala. They don’t even look each other in the eye or sit or eat in the same room (forget table). There is also dress protocol umkhwenyana must put on a jacket when visiting Inlaws, and umakoti abophe iqiye (wear a head scarf) plus Isigaxo (something like a poncho or shawl you put over your shoulders or wear it as a sash going from 1 shoulder to the hip opposite. I think many of these cultural norms are being watered down and dying with the older generations though.
