Base: Scientist -
Alchemist (Potions / poisons)
Engineer (Traps, contraptions.. sawblades?!)
Tinkerer (Mechs, minion robots.. mecha-bees!)
I think scientist would be able to fulfill a good base-role for that type of play, since you couldn't think of anything that would fit the more oddball subclasses ;)
