This is a variant of S167 by Csjtoys. Indeed, I got similar range with ease, under slightly harsher weather. On a great day with perfect weather, I'm guessing 500M straight from the controller, may be possible. It is definitely worthy for a starter drone. One thing I do, is bump through the gears when too windy. IE if too much wind, use the next speed up. This thing has 3 speeds. This kinda ups the wind rating a few mph but indeed is harder on the motors.. Also, although you might not believe it, I find, the best way to use this, is with no phone, at all, and just straight from the RC controller, with the SD card recording enabled. The battery times are slightly better, and overall response was improved with no WiFi hogging signals etc. The recordings come out cleaner. Where the camera module sits on these cheaper non stabilised units, you can pack rubber foam under the lens, and actually get results that make it seem less like junk electronics from a Chinese flemarket, Sure, it's not proper gimbals, or stabilised image but makes operating it at least somewhat worthwhile.

The sp7100 is a better drone but the sp500 is the best drone for the price
