    Yes, the tail bearing in the grip was not all the way in. Reason for the tail grip being tight. Fixed now.

    Great video as always!
    I'm building the m4 max kit and quite a few things have changed for the better. The rail assembly for one is much easier. No more tiny copper washers but the recess already cut into the part.

      Man! That’s great to hear. That tiny copper washer was a PITA! I’ve not built a M4 max but I’m happy to hear they improved it!n

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 so far I haven't had any problems with the kit. The manual isn't as clear a the SAB ones but that's the case for most other brands lol. Only complaint this far is that they don't include any mounting hardware for a mini tail servo that doesn't have the middle mounting hole beteen the 2 tabs. But luckily I had some crews laying around. I'm gonna set it up with the new radiomaster Nexus running rotorflight I'm curious how that'll go.

    Very nice Job, almost as much fun watching as doing it. Cheers 👍🏻

    If you look closely, one of the bearings inside the tail blade grip is not all the way pushed in. That's why it was tight. I would put a screw driver on the tail screw and knock it until the bearing is all the way inside.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Před rokem

      I’ll take a look at that. That makes sense on why it’s tight.

      That’s awesome! It looks like a very nice helicopter so far!

  • @sheffandjelley
    @sheffandjelley Před rokem +2

    Interesting...I see this heli uses a floating spindle in the tail assembly but the "Delta Offset" on the link connectors (from the blade arms to the pitch slider) is much more exaggerated on this little heli than even what you find on a SAB 700 Goblin or a Buddy 380 for example. Looks like 15-16 deg. (@ 17:44)
    About Delta...(for any interested readers) The "Delta Offset" is used because when one side of the floating spindle teeters one way or the other due to different tail thrust on the advancing and retreating tail blade it causes the pitch to change slightly on the opposite blade grip, so to even it out, the Delta offset stabilizes the blade flap in the tail rotor. Without the Delta the spindle will teeter, but without blade correction, (it may actually teeter more), all this slight unwanted pitch change in the tail blades causes an amplification of tail vibration. Delta offset of a few degrees on the tail link assembly eliminates this problem.

      Yes, it does, and that is some very good information you put in there! I’ve read it all and learn something new! It is definitely a lot more aggressive compared to other models.

    Great job. I’m just getting back into flying Helis after leaving the hobby for 12 years! These OMP look nice for the money, I just ordered 2 M2 evo, if I like em I will order an M4 next or a Goblin RAW 420! Thank you for these nice build videos.

    Do you still have the 470 to do a flight comparison with?

  • @Johnny31297
    @Johnny31297 Před rokem

    Your tail assembly is tight because you tightened the screws before aligning everything and didn't do it afterwards, as stated in the manual. Open the 6 tail case bolts, tweak the alignment of the carbon plates until the slider falls under its own weight, then tighten as indicated in the manual.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Před rokem

      No it’s tight because one bearing in the tail grip was not all the way down. It’s fixed now and free and smooth.
