It isn’t just an issue with beauty brands. It is an issue with clothing, education and in every sector of life in India. It follows us outside of India. It is so ingrained in our culture that no one understands the extent of it. Google any pre/play school’s website in India. Take a loot at any print add from any mainstream platform? Look at images of children, are they indian? It’s a shame. We need to let go of the remnants of colonialism to linger and embrace all shades of brown. Some of the most beautiful woman in the world are the deepest shades of brown.
