  • What's our spring boat prep checklist? With Captain Brian’s help (because he really does ALL the work), here’s a quick rundown of the 10 main spring boat prep steps we take to get our 410 Sea Ray Sundancer ready to launch in the spring... with a few of the tricks we [Captain Brian] learned in our 20+ years of boating. I also include a few other things we do AFTER the boat splashes to get the boat ready for our boating season. Here are some full videos on some of our spring boat prep steps:

    ABOUT MY BOAT LIFE CHANNEL
If you love the boat life, then My Boat Life is the channel for you!
My Boat Life is a recreational boating lifestyle channel where we share a little bit of our boat life. We like to focus on family boating & boating with kids (you'll see our boat girls quite a bit) along with some boating know-how and best practices for recreational boating and gear. We are not liveaboards or vloggers - just your average weekend boaters making the most out of each season on the water. We also work in the marine industry so you'll see off-season boat show highlights and other new trends in boating. See more on our boating lifestyle sites MyBoatLife.com and BoaterKids.com.

Thanks for posting these videos! When would you say it's safe to go in the water (I have a inboard engine cruiser in the Chesapeake Beach area and this will be my 1st "start of season" experience, boat is currently wrapped at the marina)?

You are welcome & congrats on your first season! Honestly it’s safe to go in the water anytime you’re past freezing temps but some marinas won’t allow you back on the dock until their official start of season (for us I think it’s April 15) and/or when water & electric is turned back on at the dock. We start spring prep this weekend on upper Chesapeake and we’re scheduled to launch week of May 1. 🙌

Nice job. Does your marina drive your boat over or tow it? If they drive it, do you need to fire up your engines to test them before having them put it in the water?

Thanks! Our marina tows us over so we don’t do anything to engines prior to launch. We dewinterize systems in the water.

@@MyBoatLife Makes sense thanks. We've got 2 inboard outboards and we move our boat from the lift to our slip, so we have to make sure everything is working before we launch it.
